“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
1 Peter 3:18-20 KJV
Isa 26:14~~
They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
Isaiah 26:14 "They are dead, they shall not live; they are
deceased, they shall not rise."
or
"Dead, they shall not live; Rephaim,(A spirit/ghost)
they shall not rise."........Destroyed, no resurrection.
All true humans will be resurrected to life or to condemnation. And All OT saints were in paradise/Abrams bosom.....Not prison.
….. how does all your explaining make the scripture wrong ? That tell us after Jesus died he went by the spirit to preach to them who had died in Noah’s time in the flood ?
i don’t reconcile how what you are saying changes what it says ?
“For for this cause was
the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but
live according to God in the spirit.”
1 Peter 4:6 KJV
What I don’t understand is why you then quoting this makes any sense or is a reasonable response to the scriptures I quoted tbat say what they say about Jesus going to and preaching to the spirits of those who died in the floods of Noah’s time …..
“They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.”
Isaiah 26:14
if you’d look to the things Jesus taught in the gospel
“Now that
the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac, and the God of
Jacob. For
he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.”
Luke 20:37-38 KJV
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which
all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and
they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
John 5:28-29 KJV
It seems like Jesus lived and died and preached the gospel and became Lord of the living and the dead but you keep going back to ot prophecy for some reason and take a verse out of context ? Doesn’t make sense when you understand Jesus
“Then said Jesus unto them plainly,
Lazarus is dead.”
John 11:14 KJV
“Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and
whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
……. Then they took away the stone from the place where
the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. ……
And
when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin.
Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
John 11:25-26, 41, 43-44 KJV
Jesus is the creator my friend he was in the beginning he gives life to the dead it’s what he does and is part of the e message of the gospel, new life to his dead body no one is dead to God until the lake of fire after hell ……after the dead who are in hell are raised up to be judged whoever is cast into the lake of fire and has been blotted out of his book of life then they are dead to him.
until then it’s about corrupt humans on life support headed for death , and a savior who’s showing us the way to live with him forever . So it becomes about repentance and remission of sins , in which man dies , in his sins.that is.
