Believe? Yes, I can believe God can do all things..... "According to his will".
Love God and Love each other... Yes, I can do so... up to a certain point of according to my limit.

Waiting upon the Lord without feeling anxious? Not easy!!

Joseph endured 13 years...
Abraham 25 years to get a son as promised.
Moses spent 40 years in Gideon..

Waiting would be more bearable if you knew beforehand how long the wait will be.

I hear you.
Almost daily i say "How long until you return O Lord?"
Not so much because of anxiety but because i "see" a lot of souls suffering in the world that need His help.

Even Jacob waited 7 years to marry Rachel, but his father in law tricked him so he served him a another 7 years; so 14 total years.
I'm going to keep it real, that's a long time to wait to marry a woman. Because we grew up in a different time, our minds aren't conditioned to process what is reasonable and what isn't that way; it doesn't mesh with our societal norms we have grown up with.

I feel like it's almost like I have to deprogram myself and what the world taught me and at 52; it isn't easy.

It helps with the Scripture: Lk 19:13
'Occupy till I come” is a phrase that means to be productive and busy while waiting for someone to return. It is a command from Jesus in the Bible that encourages people to do his work on earth while he is away'. I think also, when we claim a promise and then ' cast it to the Lord' miracles happen. A good one to claim is Mk 11:24 '
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours'😃🙌 Believe

It gets a lot easier to wait if you start taking an interest in what comes next.

Many ignore what comes next because it is not what they want to come now. What I want may come now or it may come later or it may come MUCH later... But if I focus too much on that I'll miss the possibilities of whatever does come next.

I am too busy trying to complete what I believe God would have me to do to even think about waiting.
I just seem to run out of time every day before I get through.
He will come when the time is right.

Howdy... Um... Howdy, howdy, and welcome to the Forum.

I use howdy a lot as a greeting, so this could get awkward.

You seem to be following the advice of one wise person I heard. "A person should have at least three things running when he dies, that somebody else needs to take over in his absence."

Maybe I need to get a few things wrapped up and finished soon and only leave 3. I am getting pretty old.

Faith is the hardest part of waiting...

Abraham for example means "father of many nations." So every time someone said his name he was reminded of his failure or lack.

Sarah was 90 years old when she had Issac. It's really no wonder she laughed when being told she would have a baby or that they tried to take it into their own hand to give Abraham a son.

Faith is the hardest part of anything. Some Christians are too naive and believe anything despite what others say. That's not good. Some Christians have little faith and believe everything others say.

Somehow you want to be wise as a serpent, but innocent as a dove.

Joseph for example waited 13 years, but... he was learning the laws of Egypt as he waited. You need to understand the rules and laws of the earth and elite, even if you are not a part of it. This allows you to be wise like a serpent.

Being close to God and his will allows you to be innocent as a dove. Believing that God is good and is "working out all things for the good of his people." This keeps your short comings out of it, and can increase your faith tenfold. If you can somehow get those truths in your heart.

There is the secret of faith.

If you come up on a stack of dishes, do them while you're waiting. Rebecca, graciously, watered 10 camels because God put 10 camels in front of her.

He said at least three, so I guess more is okay.

What he meant was, basically, you should stay involved in doing productive things.

When I die I want to leave some holes that need to be filled. I want to be in the middle of doing useful things that other people need to step up and take over when I am gone. I don't want to just spend my life doing things that don't matter, that everybody can just let collapse when I'm gone.

I tell you the truth, waiting upon the Lord when you have a family requires faith from not just yourself but your family as well.
