Take a look at what the nice sweet Jesus did with Peter.
Maybe, you would have said that Jesus was not Christian?
From that time, Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem,
and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed,
and be raised the third day.
Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You,
Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me,
for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:21-23
That was so
'unchristian' of Jesus?
And, Jesus publically rebuked a woman as well
The Spirit can work in a manner that will not pamper our flesh, and even insult you,
if you truly desire to grow and to understand the true life in Christ.
You must die, so He can increase.
God wants to strip away our flesh's desires on how we demand to be seen and treated.
And, in turn. He will replace our thinking with His thinking (the mind of Christ).
Jesus called Peter Satan. Imagine that.
Called Peter "Satan" right after Peter was offering what would appear to human reasoning to be a very noble and kind gesture.
Growing genuinely in Christ is not accepted by everyone.
Jesus told us... "Only a few will find it."
In contrast to the few, many Christians will run and hide inside some denominational hiding place on the broad and wide road
that will lead to their destruction for gaining the Life He wants us to have.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction,
and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which
leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14
At some point God makes His offer.
Few accept it.
