Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day?
2 Kings 2:1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. 3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
Elijah going up in a chariot is a type of the rapture. These types all reveal something about the rapture. They are like photographs and if you put them all together you get a fuller picture. Samson pushes out the pillars on a great sacrifice to Dagon. I understand the worship of Dagon to be connected to the Catholic church since the hat the priests of Dagon wore are the same as the hat the Pope wears. Then when Elijah calls down fire to clear up the confusion between the worship of Baal and the worship of the true God we see 400 prophets of Baal and 450 prophets that sit at the table of Jezebel all assembled. We would not see that on Christmas or Easter, the leaders of the Catholic church and the Denominational churches would all be in their locality on these days. However, the funeral of a Pope would call them all to be gathered together in St. Peter's Square and that funeral would be seen as a great sacrifice to Dagon. Now when Jesus raised Lazarus he had been in the grave for four days. The funeral of a Pope takes place 4-6 days after they die. So this also helps confirm that this event is probably the funeral of a Pope. I am not saying that the Pope will be raptured, again when Elijah calls down fire the prophets of Baal have sacrificed a bull. So he would be their sacrifice. Elijah's sacrifice would be all the people of faith over the last four thousand years since the time of Abraham. So when we put this altogether once we hear of the pope dying and they set the date for the funeral we would know the day of the rapture. Granted there have been 112 Popes, but we have been given the Prophecy of the Popes by Saint Malachi, so that helps us to realize we are talking about this particular Pope. Other signs like the Writing on the Wall sign also let us know it will be this March. So now we can look at this story with Elijah being taken up and realize all the genuine prophets of God knew the day Elijah would be raptured. That is my point from this story. According to the types and shadows when the day of the rapture comes those who have been carefully studying these things will know. Two thousand years ago they didn't know, and even two hundred years ago they didn't know, but when the day comes we will know just as Noah knew to enter the ark and Lot knew to get out of Sodom.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. 5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
By the testimony of two or three witnesses let a thing be established. In both places, the place of consecration and the place of overcoming the fear to speak we get this testimony. This establishes the fact that those who are fully consecrated to the Lord and are witnesses of Him will know the day of the rapture.
They start at Gilgal. That is where the 12 stones are that they set up when they crossed the Jordan river. It is a place of consecration. Jericho was the first city that Israel had to defeat to enter the good land. It signifies censorship. The first hurdle we must all overcome is our fear of speaking for the Lord. The city has a curse on it, so it also signifies those who are in the world, living under a curse, and they can be saved by Jesus who became a curse for us. We see this also as it is almost forbidden to talk about the rapture, and if you do talk about it you definitely cannot say the day when the rapture will be.
6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on. 7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. 8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
The Jordan river is an obstacle, but if you have faith you can overcome that obstacle. That is a key lesson that Elisha needs to learn. Crossing the Jordan depicts freedom from oppression, deliverance, to have your bonds broken. It is a line that separates the good land from the wilderness. Do not think that you will cross this line when you are raptured, you must cross it first so that you can be raptured.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
Elisha is said to represent the tribulation saints while Elijah represents the saints in the church age. This double portion indicates a great revival during the tribulation, a time of miracles.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
Being a witness of the rapture is critical for this revival. Right now there is so much confusion, everyone has a different understanding of the Bible. We see through a glass darkly, so in some respects this is understandable. But we also have false prophets, deceivers, Satan disguising himself as an angel of light, etc. This verse here tells us something critical, we must see that all those religious leaders are gathered in one spot and they are not raptured. That will eliminate all confusion that they can sow. But you also need to know those who are raptured and see them raptured. That way you will know who was telling you the truth and who was lying to you. They get a double portion of the Spirit because you eliminate all that deception, all that deceit and all that confusion.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
If thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so
