The early chapters of Genesis are worthy of very careful study . In particular , what God told Adam what he shouldn't do and , what Adam told Eve that she shouldn't do . There is a miss communication there . This to me is massively important . It points the way to why God has given us and preserved for us HIS WRITTEN WORD . We must rely on it , not on preachers . We MUST read God's Word ( all of it , old as well as new ) , for ourselves and b convinced of its Truth for and of ourselves . The first time God tells someone what they shouldn't do , they then pass the message on but INACCURATELY . As soon as we rely on a person , any person , to tell us the Truth , as soon as we place another human being between ourselves and God's Word , we r on dangerous ground . I'm not saying never listen to what anyone else has to say about the Truth , but I would say , make sure that u have studied God's Word for yourself , thoroughly , before u start listening to what humans have to say about it . God's Word is pure , we humans r not .

Some may be missing the message meant to be communicated by God via the writer of Genesis,
which is that humanity was created to be good stewards of earth as they fellowship with God.
Naming new species as they are discovered was NOT the reason for writing.

Well, some thoughts are more blinding than others.
A truthseeker tries to be conscious of bias and strive for objectivity.
For example, I am biased toward believing God loves everyone based on 1Tim.2:3-4,
but I try to consider the Scriptures cited by TULIPists to see if I should convert.

There are two different communications here. It is surely implied in Genesis 2:19 that God communicate with Adam, otherwise Adam would not have known that God wanted him to name the animals.

“Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.” (Ge 2:19 NKJV)

Incidentally, I don't see anything there about naming new species as they are discovered. It says that God brought the animals to Adam for naming.

Secondly, God communicates with mankind through His written word, including Genesis. I agree that Adam naming the animals was part and parcel of his stewardship.

i guess adam had a different form of communication as written word didnt come until much later.

personally i think our reliance on only reading the word and not hearing it is why we sometimes disagree

"not to even touch it"

A TULIPist is someone who believes in:

Total depravity
Unconditional election
Limited atonement
Irresistible grace
Perseverance is guaranteed

This is the objectional part of Calvinism.

I am a truthseeker, and I do not think that TULIP is true per GW.
Unfortunately, Augustine's false teaching was adopted by Calvin and popularized by Knox in Scotland
and in the US by Whitefield during the Greak Awakening.

Adam was created after the day of rest, not before it. Adam did not have dominion over sealife because the garden was land locked, not near the sea/ocean. That's why he didn't name any sea creatures.

We shall never know for sure , not in this life anyway but I personally think that Adam added the words about not touching the tree because he was scared on Eve's behalf and just wanted to keep her away from it . Sadly , it made no difference who said what to whom . The corruption of God's Word by man ( or woman ) provided a foothold for the serpent . This has been repeated add nausium throughout history , which is why it's so important for all of us who profess Christianity to read God's Word for ourselves . I think that it illustrates that God cannot trust man to pass down His Word by mouth and why God has been so gracious in preserving and providing His Word for all to access by reading it .

Yes, the key part of the story is that they were together and cooperated in committing the first sin,
which was not asking God about what the serpent had told them that contradicted what God had said.

But how does one know God exists if we dont see Him or hear Him.

Personally I think that the Bible and the Holy Spirit work together in our hearts . What does it tell us in the last chapter of Luke ? Luke 24 verses 25-32 . The Bible is the living Word of God , it lives in us if we take the time to read it regularly . God's Holy Spirit lives in us if we r truly a Christian . The Holy Spirit testifies in our hearts that God's Word is true , the Bible and the Spirit are one in us . The Bible is alive in us but only if we r actually taking the time to read it . The Bible and the Spirit are both from God . What God gives us shall we throw away ? 😲 .
