I think the reason for not working - is because the name was followed by a period or something
similar, without leaving a space. The period then becomes part of the name.
cc @seoulsearch .......
Yes, thank you BillyBob, I am aware of that and always take care not to immediately follow the name with any punctuation...

In fact, when typing out most names they auto complete, allowing you to click them to select,
but with the names that did not link, that did not happen even though the members are active,
and I double checked the spelling by doing a search for them with the magnifying glass... and
then even members who have not been on site for years would auto fill, it made no sense?

Then, I am at a loss for the reason! I don't often use this feature, but did notice that the names mentioned were followed by some form of punctuation.

Well, I can say @BillyBob and put a comma after it following a space and it does not mess up the alert...

@BillyBob , and it gave me the option to auto fill also...

None of my @_______ <- names had any punctuation as part of the name...

At first I thought I had reached some maximum allowable LOL but then others after those that did not work, worked...

Hey Everyone!

Have you ever found someone else's lead to be a bad influence in your life? I keep in touch with a handful of people I've met on CC, and we usually chat a little every day, just talking about everyday life.

While this is a blessing I'm definitely thankful for, it can have... varying side effects. For instance, the Gardening Envy I now suffer with (as mentioned in another thread,) and in particular, Fanning the Flames of Food Cravings I am always trying to keep under control.

I have been craving pizza for weeks (I see it as a treat I don't have often,) but... it was mentioned earlier in the week, and... I really, really wanted pizza. I tried to hold out. But other chat members kept mentioning pizza, and so --

"I Bought and Ate a Pizza, and Now I Am Blaming @RodB651 and @cinder."

Now, I know I can't "really" blame them for my own choices but... They talked about eating pizza and (gasp) at one point, even had the audacity to post a picture, and so my willpower went right out the window. Therefore, it MUST somehow be their fault, right?! :p

Likewise, now --

"I Am Craving a Donut, And I Am Blaming @Lynx," because he mentioned having a donut. I've been craving donuts for weeks and was holding out, but for some reason -- hearing about someone else partaking in a Fried Ring of Tastiness makes me want to drive to a bakery immediately.

Alas. I haven't had a donut YET (I even ate a Fig Newton, trying to quell the temptation,) but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give in SOON -- and so I am surely blaming Lynx for it! :p (Especially since he mentioned one of my favorite kinds, the old-fashioned donuts usually made with buttermilk, enveloped in a thick ice-like coating of crystal glaze!)

How about you? :D

* When did you buy something "under the influence" of someone else?

* When did you try something because someone close to you tried it?

* When have you eaten things you might have otherwise resisted -- but SOMEONE just had to mention them to you?!

* Are there any activities you've tried -- that didn't go so well -- all because someone else you know did, and you couldn't resist?

If you are somehow easily influenced (in a playful way) by others, we feel your pain!!!

What things have you bought, eaten, or participated in -- and who are you blaming it all on, because obviously, it wasn't your fault?!
1. no
2. at 18 & 19, smoking joints with hash oil & hash in them
3. pizza made with a white cream cheese sauce with baby shrimp
4. i'm terrible at pool, football, darts & guitar
5. whatever i chose that wasn't proper, i chose with my own free will.

I blame @HealthAndHappiness for all the TikTok videos I watch after the one he links to...

One time after wondering how many I had watched, I thought to scroll back up and count each one,
thinking maybe I had watched about twenty after the first one? Ugh. I stopped counting at 50 LOL

:unsure::whistle::giggle:
Funny Cat Video just for @Magenta......

Donut. Good idea. I think I'll eat a donut.

And it wasn't crystal. It was a chocolate coated one. Those are THE best. Something about the chocolate coating just goes soooooo well with an old fashioned.
I like my donuts like I do my cats, squishy. Once they've firmed up, they no longer appeal to me. I ate one last night though, even though I did not like it. But it never fails to disappoint me when the donut fails to squish. Even the slightest squish would have been acceptable. So, I blame that thing that takes all the squish out of them, whatever it is (apparently it is related to time), for eating the entire box of donuts before that monster can fully influence them.

This brought to mind of the Garden of Eatin' where there's a donut tree with a hole in the center of it, and all kinds of filling, that ye must not eat from lest ye diet.

You hear that, @Lynx ?

Mem says cats should be squishy.

Just wondering, but where would you put yourself on the Squish'O'Meter?

For myself, I'm thinking I'm about a level 7 Squish out of 10.

Captain-ette's Report: Monday, May 5, 2025

Mood: Tentative, bordering on petulant.

Status: Coffee. But still no donut. A most egregious situation.

Scapegoat: Still blaming @Lynx

Cats are not squishy. Cats are sleek or cats are fluffy, depending on how long their hair is, but they are not squishy.

How do they slide through such small areas if they are not squishy? Magic. The same kind of magic Santa uses to get up and down chimneys.
