I would want to stroke all those animals that wouldn't let me stroke them on earth , tigers etc and I would want birds to land on me and sing . Basically , I would want all the barriers between me and nature completely removed , Isaiah chapter 65 Verses 17-25 . CANNOT WAIT !

Heaven? Not Interested!
It's an alien world with which I am totally unfamiliar; and when I leave here,
I will be leaving behind everything near and dear to me, e.g. photos,
mementos, souvenirs, collections, sights and sounds, mountains, creeks,
rivers and forests, clothing and equipment, tools, landmarks, entertainment,
hobbies, BFF, keepsakes, and my good olde reliable 1994 Ford Ranger pick
up truck, etc, etc.
The culture shock tsunami of leaving all that I know & love and going to a
foreign land where I know & love nothing at all, is not my idea of a good
time. Personally; I dread the thought of having to start all over again from
scratch.
NOTE: I've heard tell of folks thoroughly unable to form attachments to
anything, to anybody, nor to any place. When they leave this life, they will
leave nothing behind of sentimental value; nothing in the least, nothing at
all. It's like they lived their entire lives as turnips and carrots instead of
sentient beings.
For many of us working stiffs, the first day on a new job is stressful and
quite an adjustment. The night before that first day can cause enough
anxiety to keep us awake worrying about what we might expect.
I'd imagine that, whether we end up in the right place or the wrong place in
the afterlife, we will be just as stressed on our first day there as the first day
here on a new job.
The anxiety associated with death is to be expected seeing as how most of
us have no experience at all with that particular journey. But much of my
own anxiety in regards to death is related to what comes after. Pity there
are no guide books available in print to prepare us in advance for the
adjustment folks are required to undergo as they struggle to fit into
Heaven's (or Hell's) way of life.
* The one thing I do look forward to in Heaven is the possibility of a library
where everything that can be known about the cosmos is stored. Carl Sagan
would've loved a library like that because he went to his grave with a lot of
unanswered questions. But now they'll never be answered because Carl was,
at best, an agnostic, and at worst, an atheist.

I dunno... All that stuff you don't wanna leave, it's all just clumsy work-arounds to make do in this world.
The truck, for example. In Heaven time will be no more. Like, literally. If there is no time, there is no need to get somewhere faster than walking.
Photos and mementos are compensation for fallible human memory. Tools are for making things happen in a world where we have to put out really quite a lot of effort to survive. Those clothes won't fit the new body we're going to get.
I mean I do like the things I use... Here... Where I actually NEED them. But when I get to Heaven I don't honestly think I'll miss them at all. I won't miss my phone because I can stroll over and talk to someone, and it won't matter if it takes three years to stroll over there. I bet I won't even miss my prodigious music collection. (I could be wrong about that last one though. We'll see.)
If I have to use a crutch to walk, why would I miss the crutch once my leg heals? I don't need that stick any more.
I can't think of one thing I have here that I will need there. I most definitely do need them while I'm here, but all the stuff I have is just things to deal with the limitations of living in a broken world. When we have a new world, without all the broken stuff, why would I miss all the tools I have used to get by?
Here's a question for you all.
How do you know that there will or might be earthly things in Heaven?

Well I know there will be food. That is definite.
I know there will be a robe too.
And the Bible does say that if you have food and clothes, let's be content with that.

Also, doesn't the Book of Revelations say that all the "old things will be no more" and all the tears and suffering and the old things will be a memory long forgotten?
Doesn't that directly contradict your previous post?

I know you could, and you probably are joking but this topic is a bit funny to me. I first heard it with a group of friends at work, who were Christians (and Protestants) who were discussing that they will be playing golf in Heaven.
I think along those lines too. Perhaps maybe becoming a pro quarterback. Or maybe a Jai Aiai player. I would also enjoy a career working in a big factory in the sky making widgets of some sort. Loved working in the manufacturing environment, mostly in quality control and process trouble shooting.
I actually said a prayer for the salvation of Carl Sagan. God has heard this prayer even before the universe was created. It is God's will and desire to not perish. I believe that Carl will be in good standing in the after-life.

Impossible question. We know nothing about Heaven or its constraints, so planning is impossible. If possible it'd be nice to visit creation.
i also loved working in a factory while playing in a band & landscaping. throw me a bomb pass & i'll catch it! my dad talked about jai alai, i think he played the game. i had it made at the factory. another guy & myself were the only 2 in a particular department. half the time, we did what we wanted to. he & i & another 3 guys in various departments unloaded the trucks. all the bosses saw that we were very fast workers so they were very lenient with us. even more than that, i worked the landscaping at the v.p.'s house. a story i'll never forget at the factory: a floor lady boss, who no one liked, complained that i was wasting time in the box room. she didn't like me at all. so she tells the v.p. he comes to the box room & sees that i was rearranging the room because the line ladies were complaining it was a mess, you couldn't walk around comfortably & it was in disarray. so i took it upon myself to rearrange the whole room. he didn't say a word to me. he watched me for 5 minutes. he went out to the lady that called on me & told her: "don't ever bother me with that man again, do you hear me"? i fixed the mess & actually made more room than the 1st design.
