Yeah, about that... Are there still Elvis impersonators around there? It was a big thing back in the day, but does anybody in Las Vegas still even remember who Elvis was?

It sounds like the Lord blessed you.

Lol, I had a pastor who grew up there before before Bible college, so I have a lot of stereotypes in my head from stories.

An old acquaintance had one sing at his wedding this year. I was told he was Elvis's nephew. I didn't attend, so I don't know if he did the ceremony.

I wanted Elvis to perform the nuptials, but my wife nixed that idea. We got married at the Hilton on Las Vegas Blvd. across the street from Circus Cirus. We didn't gamble much and managed to come out on top by $70. The whole city is like a theme park. Most colorful city at night that I have ever seen.

Lol, I will ask at our next Bible study if that local acquaintance who had Elvis's nephew sing was the preacher who performed the ceremony.

It sounds like you gained a wife and another rare thing, left Vegas with more money than you spent.
That must be a great memory for you both.

I've never been to Vegas, but I took myself out on a date to an "Elvis" concert here in Oklahoma (performed by Travis Ledoyt). It was a very good concert. He was a crowd pleaser and got out into the audience a lot. As I was leaving, there were some older women on their way out near me and I overheard one say, "He's better than the real Elvis!" lol

Most of us have at least dipped our toes into the online dating pool, maybe some have dove into the deep end. What has your experience been like? Did you meet someone special...or should we say "special"? Do you have a funny first date story?

Share the good, the bad, and the ugly. Maybe we can laugh away the trauma ;)

The woman is overacting... Expected.

The man is underacting... Not normal.

The woman is not reacting at all to the man TAKING A VIDEO OF THE WHOLE THING...

I call bull. This is fake.

Benefit of doubt: maybe it's a reenactment of something that really happened to him, or a friend of his.

My online dating experience wasn't horrible, it was just BAD. I wasn't even mad, I was disappointed. Been chatting with a " Michael B. Jordan kinda lookalike-ish" guy, for 4 months, only to show up looking like a malnourished Theo James. Like I'm not about looks, I'm about looking at the person and knowing who they look like. He would have just said "hey I'm just using some cool pictures to make impression". . I like thin guys too I wasn't going to just leave him, we had a great connection. Until he went to the bathroom and vanished. He should have atleast told me he felt bored, or changed his mind, or wasn't ready for relationship, or maybe atleast paid half the bill. .... I make an honest living so I don't mind bills, but like don't eat and just walk away.

If you'd like to get married someday don't let a bad apple spoil the whole bunch. 'Winners never quit and quitters never win'. I know many couples who met online and I'm sure they ran across a few with 'problems'. With prayers & faith in God's promises, ie Mk 11:24, He will bless you as He is a good Father. 🙏💕

I promise not to let one apple spoil the whole bunch. What actually worries me is that I do want to get married, but I can't. I can't because this mother of mine treats people in such an evil manner that they eventually leave, or revenge and it still comes back to me. I could just leave and send the financial help and still she would starve and stink to death. Yes, she's bad. I mean if even my kindergarten head teacher still says to this day that he knew my bruises weren't sports-related, he knew how bad of a person shes has always been. I've actually never seen her good side, maybe it's there somewhere. Deep inside. But damn She's evil, but even those in prison/jail atleast get a meal everyday.

Howdy and welcome to the forum.

I'd consider that a bullet dodged. For the price of a meal you learned something you needed to know about him.

That's true. Lesson learned indeed. I'm also happy for him actually. He doesn't have to see most of what is happening in my life, it wouldn't have worked anyway. But good news is it's not that bad living a single life. There so much I can do. Matter of fact, I maybe able to even serve God better single. It's a kind of a win-win situation.
