So, as with the fleece placed outside overnight to let the Lord convey a message in answer to a question (knock on wood), the lots can also be the means through which the Lord made His own choice between the two. If you want to know why the one and not the other, ask that of the Lord when you see Him. He may, or He may not, answer to you. (shrug) Not sure why you would ask any other mortal that question...

As a baby Christian?
God answered your every prayer?

Even today.
Does He answer your every prayer?

Jesus said if we have the faith of a mustard seed, if we pray for a mountain to be moved?
That it would be moved.

So, when the mountain was not moved after such a prayer?
You have no faith?
Or?

You were not praying in the Lord's will?

Peter was not infallible.

Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;
for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he
withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the
Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy."
Galatians 2:11-13

Peter's errors were recorded for us to see and to learn from.
He was not infallible.

Peter was, for a while, was a sucker for good intentions.
Assuming what he felt, was what God felt.

He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter,
saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but
the things of men.”
Mark 8:32-33

Peter did not say God instructed him to find a replacement for Judas.
Peter simply assumed that God felt the same way that he did.

This is how we learn along the way.

Peter ordered the vote for Matthias before he was transformed into a new creation in Christ.
He did not have the indwelling Holy Spirit yet.
Peter was following old Jewish tradition....

Peter was in many ways a dumb butt until later on.

The Bible keeps a record of Peter's (and others) mistakes so that Christians can take heart after they realize that in immaturity
they too had done some very dumb things. You have not?
Jesus breathed on all who were in the upper room and said “Receive the Holy Spirit”. This indwelling made them a new creation. At this point “the disciples were together” so Matthias was present. He, too, received the Holy Spirit.

Peter did not make a mistake. Paul later acknowledged “the twelve”
“and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.”

Also, I’ve shown you 15 apostles. To say there are only 12 is not scripturally accurate.

You've created so many rabbit holes in your responses that have nothing to do with what I was saying. Where do you get this stuff?

Therefore: We can't deny the Truth.
It is Jesus Christ only who have the authorization to Elect but not any Man including the real Apostles & Disciples of Christ because they are belong to the People.

There were different types of OT manifestations of the Holy Spirit interacting with Jews.
According to your reasoning? Samson was a new creation in Christ.

The following change that was needed to make Christians receive the PERMANENT indwelling Holy Spirit could not take place until after Jesus ascended to Heaven to be glorified. Jesus had not ascended at that time. OT prophets would have the Holy Spirit come upon them as God deemed fit. Peter and the rest were still as OT Jewish believers.

The New Creation in Christ only began on the Day of Pentecost.

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,“Let anyone
who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of
living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed
in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not
yet been glorified. John 7:37-39

Jesus was glorified only after He ascended back to Heaven.
Not before!

Note! Vs 39!

By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Get the people in your church to vote someone in to be a pastor?
Unless he has the gift?
He will be a terrible pastor fake.

God picks which one of us has the gifts He gives us.... NOBODY votes for it!

Peter made some mistakes. We all do.

Dude, Jesus returned from the dead to visit the disciples in the upper room in chapter 20 and breathed on them and said "Receive the Holy Spirit".
Don't you think if Jesus says "receive the Holy Spirit" that the disciples actually received the Spirit?

To punctuate the matter, Jesus THEN says "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Only God can forgive sins, yet this grace was given to the disciples BECAUSE the Spirit of God was now in them.

Later, Paul's acknowledgement of the twelve confirms that Matthias was counted among them.

Also Barnabas, Timothy, James, Silas, etc. are all called apostles.

The ones the Lord assigned who were to build the Tabernacle were also given the Holy Spirit. Moses was given the Holy Spirit.
But, it was an OT form of enabling.

When Jesus breathed on them, they were yet OT believing Jews.

When it says we are a "new creation" in Christ?
That means we have become something new that never existed before!

What we have been given as the Church is not the same as the OT believers (who were given the Holy Spirit) had.

grace and peace ..........

Jesus said "As my Father has sent Me, so I am sending you". This was the commission of the Son. So, at that time, the Son had "all authority in heaven and on earth".

"Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

The next sentence...

"Go therefore..."

Contextually Jesus is claiming: "I have the right to commission, empower, and send you... just as my Father commissioned, empowered and sent me."

That was not the Old Testament covenant. This was the New Covenant ratified by the death and resurrection of the Son who had been given the all authority from the Father.

I wonder why this is difficult for you to see.

When Jesus said.... Go therefore?

How many churches existed in the world? None.
How many people knew the name of Jesus? Only a few in Israel.

Today is different.
Almost any atheist knows the name of Jesus!
And, there are Christian churches to be found everywhere.

What is lacking today is sound doctrine in most churches.

That is what the great commission should be for today.
According to 2 Timothy 4:3?

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Most believers today will reject sound doctrinal teachings.
Instead, they seek teachings that will make their internal tuning forks to vibrate in unison.

To quote the words of Jesus?

"Few find it."

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road
that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate
and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

I have gotten used to being rejected by now.
Not always rejected, though.

I agree with what you’ve written. But I don’t know how it is germane to the discussion.

Any way. Grace and Peace.
