I agree.
Much of the diagnosis results from the school teachers or their admin's referrals for parents to take their children to designated pediatricians that are part of the system. Kids, especially boys can be hyperactive by nature. It's normal for many to not be able to sit still and listen to a lecture beyond the personal attention span. That format doesn't work for everyone.
The pediatricians get a lot of business this way Rx and office visits. The teachers have more compliance with sedated students.

I've been told that the local middle schools no longer have a recess where children can play for an hour outside.

Schools are whole other issue, lots of politics and trying to fix a broken system.

My nephew is a specialist doctor and he told me there is a lot of pressure on doctors to do something, anything, patients often demand a prescription and so doctors comply.

Overall both people and doctors are to blame.
Sad state of affairs.

Well I think there are more poorly raised children these days, not very good boundaries set when they are young along with a lot of other parenting issues.

Diet may be of some help, for those with a true non neuro-typical brain, but when the brain is not working properly I am not sure that a change in diet will suffice.

I have not read up on this lately but I am thinking there is research which links ADHD to prenatal environmental assault on the baby..
ADHD has many comorbidities one being FASD.

Diet cannot cure FASD but it might make it better.

Environment can play a major role IMHO.
Yes, Parenting and lack thereof can play a role.
Environmental toxins might be a cause of contributing factor.
Thimerisol aka mercury poisoning that the hospitals and pediatricians inject are big causes.

That too!

Yes and how about microplastics in our blood.
Chemicals dumped in our water streams by companies like DuPont.
We do not know how all this affects over time.

That system has a lot of decent people working in it, but it is not reformable.
Unfortunately, that is what shapes every nation. Families, cultures and even churches are directed by the influences of the educational systems.

Have you heard of John Taylor Gatto?
He was a NY public school teacher that taught outside of his school to many who questioned the system. I consider him a historian and philosopher who specialized in the history of education.
Like everyone, judge what he says according to the Bible. The audio is a little over an hour long if you want to listen to the entire audio while doing laundry or something you don't have to focus on much. He speaks on a lot of other related subjects too if you have children.

Yes, very familiar. He was a true pioneer! I have read some excerpts of his first book.

The hidden curriculum has been an obsession (you know what I mean :)) of mine for years.

Thanks for the video. :)

I know what you mean.
I worked in toxicology and saw the chemicals Dupont dumped into the Monongahela River shoreline to dispose of waste.
A lot of pharmaceutical companies do the same.
Then the water is treated with over a hundred chemicals to make the municipal drinking water potable.

We tested groundwater samples around the state and saw the mutagenic effects on lab subjects.

Wow, that's wonderful!
The only people I know who are familiar with him are homeschool parents and teachers. Were you a home school teacher?

Nope not at all, my kids went to school, I think it was overall very positive for the them.
I research a lot, for my work, so I think you come across a lot of different views when you do that.

Neil Postman was another who was outside the mainstream who was very insightful and could see what was coming if you are interested.

I'm not familiar with him, but I looked up his name on YouTube. I just had lunch while listening to this 12 minute interview.

This goes back well before the AI supercomputers were ever mentioned outside of science fiction.
This is a point in history far beyond the time when Paul observed 22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

This is a the information age and I can agree with Paul about the propensity of the Greek culture to seek a new thing and seek after wisdom, (without God.)
Postman talks about the problem with endless information that benefits no one. There's more of that than what benefits our personal lives.

One big challenge I find is to prioritize and spend appropriate amounts of time and work on the intake, systematic organization and application of information.
Otherwise, we are told by Solomon, Ecclesiastes 12:12

12And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Are you saying ADHD or a learning disability is a form of psychosis?

No. Secular therapists are the ones treating it as such. When I was young, those scum put me on Ritalen, which sucked the life right out of me as a child. They had me pegged with what they termed as the "psychosis" of ADHD and a number of other alleged maladies rather than to realize that, as children, we were high-spirited and full of energy that needed an outlet besides just one recess.

Some children are sanguine and not as energetic while others...well, we were the vermin of my parental generation. We heard from them how they were raised - to be seen and not heard...otherwise a swift slug across the choppers and a good whoopin.

Personal situations is not the standard of measurement.
There are children who do have ADHD and it is important to find strategies to help them not pretend it does not exist.
And it is not a psychosis, not a serious point at all.

Also, to clarify where I live a teacher can not name/specify any kind of diagnosis or they can face a fine of $10 000 (somewhere in there) was what heard about 10 years ago.

Pediatricians have a lot of leeway when it comes to diagnosing ADHD or autism, they can just write a script based on one office visit, a certified psychologist who is actually trained in administering the assessment tool is the better option for both Autism and ADHD.

I have personally see children with a lot of hyperactivity issues go off of corn syrip, sugar, red 40 & yellow 5 & 6. The end result was normalcy.

Bless your heart for caring enough to take note of that.
This should be common knowledge made known to parents. It would not hurt anyone and it might just help the families immensely!
The only drawback I can think of is for the MDs. who depend upon that money for expensive toys.
It may eliminate lifetime medical customers dependent upon script signed amphetamines.

Let's have a fun discussion about the topic of autism.
According to Google "ai" it means this:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, and experiences the world. It is called a "spectrum" disorder because it affects people differently and to varying degrees, with symptoms such as challenges in social communication, restricted interests, and repetitive behaviors. Symptoms can also include difficulty with non-verbal communication, sensory sensitivities, and a strong preference for routines and predictability.

Key Characteristics of Autism
  • Social Communication:
Individuals with autism may struggle with social interaction and communication, including making eye contact, understanding social cues, or having reciprocal conversations.
  • Repetitive Behaviors and Interests:
Common features include intense or narrow interests in specific topics, engagement in repetitive movements (like hand-flapping), and a strong need for routine and order.

  • Sensory Sensitivities:
Many people with autism have unique sensory experiences, such as being overly sensitive to bright lights or loud noises, or less sensitive to others.
  • Varied Abilities:
The term "spectrum" highlights the wide range of abilities and challenges within the autistic population. Some individuals may be verbal, while others are non-verbal, and their need for support can vary greatly.

So, back in muh day we used to call this: 'being shy'.
Which meant that you weren't sick and you didn't need any medication so a pharmaceutical CEO can buy his 2nd yacht.
Thoughts?
