I have read that the rebranding has been a total fiasco so far.

Boy it sure looks like it! It was all over the news today. I don't think it was a bright move, most of their customers are as old as the pictures on the walls! They did go downhill after Covid and didn't seem to recover. Still the best breakfast around though.

My wife and I have enjoyed many of their breakfast offerings through the year in different states. Been a few years though as there is not one that is close by to where we currently live. Always enjoyed browsing through the souvenir section too.

I think they aught to have a sign with a hillbilly with a broken tooth. I took a friend there on my birthday and while eating a bowl of canned green beans, chipped a tooth on a stone!
The waiter took the evidence and threw it away. He wouldn't get the manager. The food was worse than I would feed a possum.

I know that crack barrel has been a popular choice for families after church, but good grief, what a birthday dinner!

@HealthAndHappiness This sounds like the staff was the problem, not the store.
That is what I have found most of the time. It's the staff the make or break a store. Good store, but bad staff, should not be blaming the store, unless that store owner was behind the behavior.

It's like dollar general, you have good stores, but bad ones. It's because of the staff, the people that is there. Sometimes it's the customers fault too.

The guy didn't seem offensive to me? He looks like a farmer. I thought the "cracker" in Cracker Barrel meant that there were crackers (the kind that's made of flour and baked up nice and crisp) in the barrel. I didn't know it was referring to the guy!

I think that was just satire...

Oh my word!! I would not be a happy customer after that. I would be calling the head of the company!

Where did Cracker Barrel get its name?

"When our founder, Dan Evins, opened the first Cracker Barrel, he wanted to recreate the experience he loved in country stores from his childhood. Places along interstates and highways that gave travelers a comfortable spot to stop, relax, get a good country meal and feel at home. Crackers used to be delivered to those old country stores in barrels, and people would gather around them to discuss the news of the day—like a water cooler (without the plug.) Since the restaurant was meant to help people reconnect with friends and family over a good meal, it was a fitting name."

"Woke" is just a buzzword people use to demonize anything they don't like. Half the time they even know where it comes from or what it really means. It's like TDS, another meaningless catch-all phrase intended to discredit someone. After all, how can you possibly take someone seriously who is "woke" or (heaven forbid), has "TDS"?

That is good to know! So I wasn't wrong at all about the name.

I like the first logo. It's much more welcoming then the second logo, which is boring.
