Part of this sermon is about modesty. I watch a few of this guy's sermons, and they are pretty good.

I'm just wondering if there's any advice there
I'm a married dad with a daughter who has just turned 14, and you know how teens tend to dress nowadays
I'm a Christian man who values modesty and doesn't think it's appropriate for girls that age to be showing cleavage or shorts that are barely covering thighs, and with events like teen discos coming up into her life I'm worried even more, some of the things worn there would barely pass as underwear

I'm not sure how to deal with this as my wife doesn't see the big deal with her dressing like her firends do and how most girls do
and seeing instagram and tiktok posts from her in everythign from low cut tank top or crop tops to even bikini pictures from the beach / pool
it's a struggle I'm doing badly with

@IrishDadbob
Hello Dad! Oh the joys of parent-hood right??
I raised two daughters and have 3 teenage grandchildren, so here's my best advice.
Let daughter know that how she is dressing bothers you. Speak from your heart and make it plain from a man's perspective. Let her know that you do not want men viewing her body parts and tell her why...men are attracted physically by what they see...girls her age do not always understand this. This is why mom is usually the one to hold to the modest code. If mom is not doing this you still need to as head of the household...
Don't be afraid of speaking the truth in love- it's your responsibility and obligation.
Heavenly Father,
I pray for this father, that you would help him with this sensitive message that needs to be communicated. Help him do this in a spirit of love, not causing division with his wife but join their hearts as one in parenting and all matters of the house...in Jesus' name I pray.

I never had children but I remember being a teenage believer. I was the only one in my family so I didn't have any pressure from my parents or siblings about how I should dress. And there were so many thing that God was teaching me but how I dressed wasn't addressed for a quite a while. Really years.

But I know from experience that there is power in prayer. Bring this before God about your daughter's dressing issues - God will do something about it in due time. I think you can tell you daughter one time but then leave it to God to teach her. I remember that I was pretty stubborn if my parents kept nagging me about something, but when God would bring up a matter, I paid attention because I learned from previous experience that there are consequences to not heeding what God says.

So maybe trust God and give this issue to God. It takes the pressure off you to having to nag your daughter about it and let God deal with this issue directly with her.

Just to let you know, God did broach the subject with me eventually and would help me pick appropriate clothes when I shopped! :)

Oh! And also, you should talk to your daughter about the kind of guys she attracts depending on how she is dressed. That might give her more incentive to dress more appropriately so that she attracts guys that like her for her and not because she's dressed indecently.

Anyway, I will pray that God helps your daughter to learn to dress beautifully but more decently. There are so many styles that can do that nowadays!

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, have mercy on us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Thankful you finally see the light and leave idolatry.
Thank you Jesus for freeing another one!
Now leave the rest of that clap trap and come to one on one vital, dynamic, relationship with Jesus. Here is how John Wimber found Him.
best wishes

Discipline in prayer means nothing to you. Knowledge means nothing to you. The sacrifice of others means nothing to you. Institutions mean nothing to you. I hate to break it to you but without the first Church of Jesus Christ you wouldn't even know his name.

Look how vain and judgmental your idolatry has made you.
The "church" is the body of believers, not a corruption of what the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit intended and still don't. The popes fish hat was taken from Dagon, the Babylonian fish god, they moved worship from the God ordained Sabbath to "Sun"day, the day Constantine worshiped the Sun god.
Best start living the life of relationship with Jesus and leave dead idolatry behind.
"Remember" her? Nothing happens in the past with and in relationship with Jesus, everything is now and going forward as His Own walk out His direction for them.
best wishes:)(y):unsure::coffee:

If the pope hat offends you, I suggest you start lying about the Orthodox next. Same Origins, no pope. 2 Peter 3. 8-9

Youre right. Let's continue to not even acknowledge her existance.
Though I have no interest in praying to anybody except Jesus, I do have to admire your fortitude. shittim is a veteran debater and has a LOT of stamina for making rebuking forum posts.

And no matter how insulting he is, he will end a post with "Blessings." As if that makes all the snide things he said better.

This could be quite a show. I need to get some popcorn.

Go for it username87! Stay in there and keep punching! I'm cheering for you.

I already know shittim doesn't need any cheering. He'll keep swinging for hours. He simply MUST get the last post.

Discernment of error doesn't produce offense, but since you belong to a religion and not relationship with Jesus, you post that way.
It isn't too late for anyone yet, but it will be too late and it appears that time may be very soon.
Browbeating peons into thinking they have to give all to the RCC to get to heaven is pathetic, salvation is the just the start of a life in Christ as His commands were to heal, cleanse, cast out, etc.
No ones man made "church" died for their sin.
best wishes

You don't know the Lord either, no wonder you are both confused and focused on the temporal and not things above as required.
This is what He said most would have instead of genuine faith, His Own are doing greater works than even He, and these are taking place regularly for those who are truly His.

mary was never an intercessor, is not now & never will be an intercessor. you can not pray to mary & receive an answer. in fact, it's worse than that. praying to mary is a sin, it's called necromancy! study & learn these verses: 1st Timothy 2:5 (especially this verse ), John 14:6, Hebrews 1:2, 7:25, 9:15, 12:24, Colossians 1:19, & 3:17, Ephesians 1:22,23, 1st Corinthians 8:6, 10:31 & Romans 8:34.
