Yeah, I’m aware of that. The other poster took umbrage where none was needed. No malice was intended in my post, but I am quite willing to challenge erroneous belief about Scripture.

Anyway, moving on….

Where? Took two minutes to read your 15 posts. Which one identifies your past screenname?

Glasses? Might help. I never said I gave a previous name. I did however say that it was not my 1st time here. Thanks very much for your concern over someone sending unwanted pms to another member. Maybe the owner should do background checks. I don't know you at all so why do you think I owe you something? Your concern is not for my authenticity as a Christian, which I am, but rather for some way to snoop around and see what you can dig up. It's sad and I guess you also go on ignore. Not the way I wanted to start posting again here but there you have it. :cautious:

As I stated above, I am a returning poster and I remember you
You stated NO such thing!

That you think it’s fine and dandy to have everyone’s info and posts available for you to use as weapon against them, but you don’t feel any compunction to reciprocate speaks volumes about character.

You know, normally I would simply answer a question but you were aggresive (something about a challenge) the other fellow took your side, (I hope he has a retainer as a lawyer) and you obvioulsy tried to find some reason to suspect me of having ulterior motives. As a
person who really is honest and open about things, I find the suspicion coming from the three of you to be reason enough to disallow your probing. If any of you had been nominally polite you might have found me far more responsive but I don't do the type of rude behavior that you think represents some form of biblical correctness.

Who is to say you do not personally entertain erroneous belief about scripture? I am certain not everyone here thinks you are all that but you somehow believe you just could be. That alone is erroneous but whatever. Yes, please. do move on.

Do you respect the Word of God enough that you will always see to it that you do your very best to make sure that your every presentation of bible verses is done in the most clean-and-clear neat God-honoring manner possible?

Or, do you just throw it around carelessly as if it is not any more important or special than any other wording that you might put in your posts.

I have noticed that many on here are quite sloppy with their presentation of bible verses.

Why is that? Are you just lazy or what?

Why would you not want to make sure that book names along with chapter and verse numbers are always present and having the full correct spelling of names and properly positioned-and-spaced numbers?

A verse number should never be found jammed together with the verse text. Proper spacing is important to the cadence of reading the text.

And, if you do not see the importance of providing some kind of separation between bible verses and what you are saying - you need to do some critical self-examination. Seriously.

I cringe when I see people run bible verses and whatever they are saying together without any form of separation whatsoever. No putting comments about verses in parentheses. (Or, at least, offset by some reasonable means.) No line spacing. No anything. Just run together - one sentence is a bible verse and the next one is their added comments. And, the next one is a bible verse. Embedded comments with no indication that they are not part of what should be a reading of the Word of God. This should never occur.

How you present the Word of God in your posts tells me a lot about the true nature of your approach to the Word of God.

If the Word of God is really-and-truly special to you - you will always do your best to give it special treatment in your posts - making it "set apart" from everything else and "lifted up" above it.

When you throw it around like you copied-and-pasted it from a garbage dump - well - that says something about you... ;)

( Don't bother to try to "teach" me something from the Word of God if you cannot even present it properly in your posts. )
For me to know exactly what u r refering to , u would have to give me an example . There's a lot of slightly irksome ways that people have when posting on here but , I try not to let that bother me too much . I try to remember that for some , English is their second language , other people I know r visually impaired so use some sort of microphone and others may not be very well educated but that doesn't mean that they don't understand God's Word , or that they won't have something interesting to say . Vive la difference as they say in France . We r not robots , we r individuals and I thank God that we r !

You took offense unnecessarily. I gave you the opportunity to explain, and instead you reacted further. It’s on you. 🤷🏻‍♂️

How much do I respect The Word Of God?
Enough to:

1) Love Christ And His Word Above ALL else

2) Place It Where "God Places It" (Psalm 138:2 AV)

3) "... not think above That What Is Written..." (1 Corinthians 4:6 AV)

Much more respectful attitude concerning God's Precious Word is here:

Handling The Word Of Life!

Amen.

Is that how you practice your Christianity? You look for weapons to use against other believers? I start to think that you may just be your own worst enemy with that kind of an attitude let alone how you suspect other people are here to weaponize the forum. I would laugh at such an accusation but you seem to be serious and that does not bode well for you. You sound jaded and angry and I'm sorry you are so loose and fast with accusations against people you don't know.

No worries though. I am certainly not here to hurt others or argue. And again, the post wherein I stated I had previously been here was #86. And from that post (since you cannot find it): I am not really all that new either but it's been awhile. Would you believe I left because I was so up to here with the arguing and nasty comments? yeah

I think you and a couple of others here need some kind of hobby in which you can take out your aggression.

I apologize for how you have been responded to but it is also best to remember not to respond in the same manner when one or two or three come against you turn the other cheek if they refuse to listen to reason shake the dust off your feet and walk away your time is better spent elsewhere also a warm welcome back to the forums I don't know if we knew each other or not but a warm welcome to you anyways

Why would you think I need you to give me an opportunity to explain myself to you when you did not understand the post in the first place? Others had no problem with it. I suggest you knock the chip off your shoulder and try to be that nice person someone else thought you were. I did not take offense. I was taken aback by your aggression towards me for no reason whatsoever. Try being polite instead of abrasive and demanding. That approach will not work with most here I would think and obviously not with me.

Thanks Blain for the welcome. I would be concerned for someone who is a new Christian or perhaps someone who is searching. See, I am not new to forums and as I already said, not new to this one although it's been awhile. The attitude with which I was addressed is not something that would give any sort of welcome to an actual new person and so I did address that. People claiming to be Christians should not be sitting in judgement over others but should remember it is by the grace of God that they have come to believe and there is nothing any better about anyone here than the next person.

Just to add to my post above. Whatever happened to fellowship in Christ? Perhaps Christ is left out too much when doctrine or perceived doctrine takes the place of love, which is what Jesus actually said would identify us. What if someone comes here looking for some of that love and maybe understanding and they get smacked in the face with words that deny any love for a poster they have yet to come to know or see what they believe? I do not expect any sort of response from one person in particular, that would indicate they have taken my words in any way other than to dismiss and put down.

I have seen where that is what some call 'cold love' and yeah, it's cold and does not represent the gospel imho.

Yes that has been my concern for many years if new believers came on here and saw all this it would be damaging to them because hundreds if not thousands see our posts everyday and each person is affected in some way by what we say and how we say it

I am in the work of raising new believers in Christ and I have seen plenty of them being scared away from this site because of the backlash and attitudes of others it is not fun to see and even harder to accept. The thing is people tend to show who they really are on an online forum like this most of the time when you read a persons post you are reading their hearts and suffice to say this has not always been a good thing I have seen how we mock and attack each other how we twist scripture and even use it as a weapon against each other if new believers are presented with this then they will be scared away or worse will take on that kind of attitude

I've seen all of that and unless a person looks in the mirror and says 'I am the one who needs to change', nothing will change. We need soft hearts and patience with others and not a desire to become teachers of the law that rebuke others with no self reflection.

Well, its' been interesting. Again. LOL!

I am just curious have we known each other before? I cannot quite put my finger on it but there is something familiar about you

Not because of who are, but rather what people can be like around here.

Agreed. I didn't have a private profile before but I think I understand why some people go that route including myself at this point :)
