I like to make weird concoctions with lettuce wraps, which I learned when travelling in Asia. They make some amazing lettuce wraps and just use anything. So it probably works, but I would go light on the jam.

Like what? I know orange chicken isnt authentic, but a orange chicken lettuce wrap sounds to die for haha.

Pb&J lettuce wrap sounds questionable at best, but maybe you're on to something. Penutbutter goes good in noodles ya know? It sounds like a food crime but its actually quite tasty...unless you ask my husband. He says Pad Thai taste too much like dessert noodles.

Has anyone tried these yet?

Not yet, reached for one, arm went numb, probably protected from a Reese's feeding frenzy?
On the other side where there are no calories or sugar, maybe.
Last Halloween we gave out mandarin oranges or candy, so thankful for the kids who grabbed oranges and there were many!

Who don't like PBJ's? The worlds most famous sandwich!

Now I did vote that Strawberry Jam is heavenly, but it's not! (I am an aficionado of such things!). Actually, Strawberry Preserves has a place in heaven! Jam is much different than Preserves. If you can't tell the difference then, I sympathize with you, lol.

I was out of bread one day and craved a PB&J. SO I made it on a Tortilla and rolled it up like a burrito! It turned out great!.

I currently have a jar of peanut butter, made from only peanuts and salt, mixed with raspberry jam, sitting in my fridge.

I had to add a little bit of water, because when you mix something else with peanut butter it turns to wallpaper paste.

Lettuce has a definite flavor and I don't think it would go well with peanut butter and jelly.

Peanut butter and jelly goes amazingly well on a pancake though. Or on Ritz crackers.

I know about peanut butter on celery, but cannot agree that it is good. Cheese is what you put on celery, if you have to eat the stuff at all.

Ha HA. I was given a bunch of celery and thought 'Gee, spread a little PB and I'll be good to go" (been meaning to eat more celery)...
but then, last I checked, the celery was starting to go a little limp

I don't buy white bread (after all, the whiter the bread the quicker you're 😵) but seeing as how that is what I grew up with and have recently been craving all sorts of crazy things I grew up eating, I'm thinking I might just have to go buy some. I am suddenly in the mode for Skippy creamy peanut butter and Smuckers grape jam on wonder bread...
 I wonder, do they even still make wonder bread?

What kind of cheese and how? Celery doesnt seem to me like it could hold cheese. At least not over here. Unless youre talking about the forbidden...easy cheese goop...

Wait, you dont know?

Celery, peanut butter and raisins. You line the celery with peanut butter and dot it with raisins. It looks like little ants crawling through a muddy path, and taste delicious:) its cute and yummy.

Oh!! That sounds good! But that means that I'd have to go buy celery again. Overpriced? Brown? Preposterous! We used to grow better celery than what is in the supermarket nowadays, lol. I look at it but aint wanted to buy any of it.

Raisins go good with anything. ;)

Hey Everyone,

@Godsgirl1983 reminded me just how fun these "controversial" threads can be!

Are you tired or need a break from all the "typical" arguments swirling all around you? Are you longing for a "higher level" topic that goes beyond just the "normal" boundaries of ridiculousness? Do you long to sink your time and effort into something that REALLY counts?

Well, do we ever have the thread for you! Forget all those "common" controversies for a just minute -- and come join in on yet another ludicrous discussion that's guaranteed to go (pea)nuts!

Since a past thread has already questioned the sanctity of toast, let's bump it up a notch to peanut butter AND jelly!

All we need now is for people to start arguments for, against, and about the following topics:

1. Does peanut butter and jelly need to be put on something, or can it be eaten alone (in a bowl?! With a spoon?) I may or may not have just outed myself here...

2. What kind of bread goes best with peanut butter and jelly? What about pitas, tortilla wraps, naan, cookies...?

3. What kind of peanut butter is acceptable? (And what kinds are heathen?)

4. What kinds of jelly is acceptable? Jam or preserves? And what kinds/flavors will send you straight to the naughty chair!!!) Mint. :D

5. Do you make a PB & J with or without crusts?

6. Do you add other toppings? What about strange, abnormal, or just plain stupid things -- like pickles?!:ROFL:

5. Are Crustables the ULTIMATE PB& J sandwich?

There will be a poll covering some PB & J basics... But since poll answers are always limited, be sure to come back to argue as passionately as possible about your position, because a controversy is only a controversy when there are strong opposing opinions!!

The poll will be multiple choice and you'll be able to see people's answers -- which will make it all the easier to argue as to why YOUR opinion is the one that REALLY counts! :D
PB good.
J bad.

Velveeta cheese isn't bad (I think!) but it melts good in a microwave. So do those mexican canned cheeses. That's what I use for nachos and stuff. Shredded cheese for burritos.
