Better yet,, dont even let the women come in the church.. make them stay outside and wash cars
Maybe when they let the people go who you said should be forced to watch Barney, they can get their cars washed by church women while they go to church and hear the Gospel. Sounds fair.

if we give him a cookie how long will it take for him to eat it and start talking again?

We might be better off giving him a 24 oz. steak...with a loaded baked potato, probably some veggies. And a beer. Then he'll fall asleep :D

my question is what woman in her right mind would want to preach to a bunch of smelly men anyways?

sorry guys I love you but I just sit here wondering what the appeal is.

come on women can't teach men how to be mature men in God anymore then a man can teach a women to be mature women in God. Men can fool themselves and think they are teaching women something but I have found I learn more about life and living in a godly manner from the older female women in the church and following their example. If I have a question about life I would talk to the pastor's wife before I would talk to the pastor. If I had a question about doctrine and theology I would talk to the pastor about it.

I think that is why the Bible says the bishop (or what we call the head pastor) should be married to one wife who is godly and wise as well, because then that gives the women someone to talk to about women things. A single man would not be able to counsel a mixed group of both men and women. there are just some things you can't tell a man. so its not just the pastor but the pastor wife who helps the pastor do his work by being a support and godly womanly example to others.

When it comes to matters of the heart I seek the counsel of women. When it comes to the matter of the mind or intellect or more specifically theology concerning the Bible, I seek the counsel of a trained pastor or minister. funny thing is that God has only placed men in that role in my life. I talk to some women about intellectual things too but its interesting to get varying outlooks upon different situations that might arise in life. I love women Bible studies and various ministries within the church and I find a lot of women working behind the scenes that often go unnoticed and undervalued but you know what?

God notices. He even tells us we are more precious for being hidden and protected and covered by our men. People so often think that women have a less honorable part to play but its not true. I always considered women and our prayers the "unpresentable parts" of the church hidden and protected from the glaring criticism of the world who does not understand and who seek to destroy the mysteries God have entrusted us with.

1 corinthians 12
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

I personally don't have anything against female pastors. I have meet a few who seem to be wonderful ladies seeking to do good works. I don't have anything against Muslims, Buddhist or atheist either. Some of them do good works and help a lot of people.

However, it is not what I have against them but what GOD has against them that should concern everyone involved. that is what makes my heart sad. the rebellion against God and His commandments.

anyways that's my rant.

Hey AnandaHya

Remember that the Bible was written by men in a time period when women were nothing more than property, so it is going to be slanted towards men. According to scripture women are inferior and should have no authority over men.. Now. all you men who happen to have female supervisors on your job, next time she tells you to do something... how strong are your convictions now?? Are you gonna tell that the Bible says she cant have authority over you? Remember the apocryphal books? One of them was left out just because it was written by a woman.

Hey, if you really want to believe that go ahead. Why keep on saying the same thing as if you're trying to convince someone? Or maybe wanna pick up a fight?

*sigh*

Women are meant to be silent at CHURCH. Nobody's saying we can't share the Gospel, nobody's saying we can't teach anyone about Christ.

Just not at church.

And not to men.

Although, women are perfectly within their Biblical right to LIVE in such a way as to be an example for men.

In fact, we should.

p.s. I certainly don't relish the idea of teaching men from the Bible, this site has proven time and again how absolutely, profoundly difficult it can be to teach some people ANYTHING :p

Er...let me rephrase a bit of that:

Women should live in such a way as to allow Christ's light to shine through us before men.

Which includes both genders.

Gotta look at it in context. What day and age was that written. What was the culture like in those times and what was expected of women? Since then there has been the feminist culture and women have been given their voice. While the Bible is correct, it is also to be used in the current context which applies. (I'm not saying misuse the scriptures for whatever situation you're in) but I think we should all shut up in church and listen. No man or woman should speak. But if you want to raise your opinion, do it. God is a God of the 21st century. He understands our current society and like that's why we have Jesus, so we can all speak to God. We're all allowed to preach in church, God is using men and women these days. When reading the Bible just remember what time it was written in and also its context with regards to society. And don't tell me to shaddup my face ;D lol

So you don't believe the Bible is infallable or inerrant. You believe the apostles were sexist and created the Bible. What a bunch of liberal crap. How can you say the Bible is just written by men and hope to have any Biblical argument? If you care so much for women maybe you should do something for them, other than offering that the Bible is incorrect and bias for their sake. So if people side with you they have to believe the Bible is tanted? That means people who believe you, have to not believe the Bible. That's not helping anyone.

Yet again, add verse 33, and it's IN CONTEXT...

1 Corinthians 14:33-35
"For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

I like this broken record approach to posting, being super repetitive in the hopes that if we say something enough times, everyone else will eventually get the picture...

It's worked so well for others so far...
