You are not wrong lion shittim it is largely a focus on the temporal indeed, but that's unavoidable in the realm of politics or even geopolitics which I mean of course it's temporal it's in the name. geo = earth, politic = art of polities (cities, societies). Temporal is the the earthly facets. The spiritual powers are of course always greater than and supersede all temporal power as all well learned Christians know, but that doesn't we must become gnostics or mad ascetics, the temporal is unavoidable until the last legendary war where the male virgins eyewitness God the Father murk Satan at the end of it all. The temporal and all its politics and history and powers and principalities it is there and can't be totally ignored until lthe end of the world and everything in it and we eternally praise Jesus.
Well i mean, all of this material world we find ourselves in, is secondary compared to God.
Because the world, the nature itself is crying for the Creator. Because things have senses, and we have 5 senses.
So we look at good things or bad things and we put God first while laughing or crying depending on the situation.
There's a tradition in my church about Lazarus.
It is said that he never said much after he was resurrected. He never smiled, laughed or cried. Probably because of what he saw in Hades.

You're not totally wrong, but the scriptures also are the masterpass cheatsheet to all politics too. They do not command us to ignore all these things. Governments for instance is one of the middle tier powers of the Holy Spirit it is written. Of course Ephesians 6:12 is the most iconic verse most often cited here as well. Entire books of the Bible are extremely political too or deal with history and politics, especially for ancient Israel as even secular history and archaeology of today even proves much of it and expands the narrative too. The secular, the temporal, literally by translation the Earth and the earthly things it is not neccessarily a case of its good or bad, it's a case of how it is used. The main principle that divides the super saints from the super heretics is knowledge that the spiritual by virtue of the reality of the Bible and the Christian religion is always greater simply put and always drives the temporal, but not the other way around the temporal cannot really effect the spiritual in any way much less it cannot ever supersede the spiritual either (as many wicked kings in their both secular and Biblical history found out to their doom). It is in the spiritual matters then where the concepts of good and evil apply and bear themselves out in consequences upon, in, around, and enacting on to the secular temporal material world, but also some shrewdness and not ignorance of the goings on of the secular is wisdom too. This is then where good understanding of the Christian religion is power spiritual.
