This all relates back to the original OP. He draws some parallels. I agree with aspects of his parallels, but I drew another parallel. Don't know why anyone would have a problem with life preceding birth. And if one is willing to accept the original premise that the unseen things of God are known by the things that are seen, and physical life comes before physical birth, why is it so difficult to accept that spiritual life precedes spiritual birth?

Because per the NT spiritual life follows being spiritually reborn (John 3:5-8, Romans 8:1-15).

Wrong. Sometimes babies don’t cooperate and are born breach or via a Ceaserian operation.

'don't cooperate'

doesn't contradict, a foetus does not choose to be either conceived or born. those are things that happen to us, not things we do, and we don't have choice in them.

do you think a baby needing a caeserian operation is a conscious decision on the foetus's part? such that the operation and the birth still takes place despite their will being contrary to it?

So...why doesn't spiritual life precede spiritual birth?

Isn't parallelism the point of this thread?

It does. The word of God is the sperm/seed. When someone receives any word from God and doesn't immediately reject it, they become the zygote of a developing foetus which may eventually become born again, or they may abort before reaching birth.

The ovum/egg is alive before it is fertilised. A dead ovum would not respond to the sperm.

This will be news to alot of people in the BDF who believe life only comes after salvation.

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

So...the OP is wrong? The invisible things of God are not seen by the things which do appear?

BTW, water in John 3:5 is the word of God. ..1 Peter 1:23.

If what ever the OP is, if it doesn't follow GOD'S word it's wrong.

LOL so we have to be born of word and spirit?

Why didn't JESUS say that? SOMEONE IS WRONG is it you or JESUS?

This happen before JESUS started HIS walk.

Matthew, 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Did HE come up out of the word?

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing BY THE WORD OF GOD. One is born again by the Spirit and the word of God. Nicodemus made the mistake that Jesus was talking about physical birth, but Jesus' words were spirit and life.

You think Jesus needed saving?

1 Peter 1:23 - having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

John 15:3 - You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.

The first message and the first ones to be reborn in NT times.

Talk about forgiving, these are the same fokes who was responsible for putting JESUS on the cross.

Acts 2:37-41
King James Version
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

AFTER, I SAY AFTER they heard the message they OBEYED and three thousand souls were added.

Read verse 37 more closely. Peter preached. They heard...given understanding. Their hearts were pricked...circumcision of the heart. Their wills were altered...what shall we do?

They were born again by the word of God and the activity of the Spirit of God within them. Of course they responded in obedience. God uses Peter's sermon to bring enlightenment and the Spirit wrote those words on their hearts. That's the new covenant promise...Ezekiel 36:26-27.
