God is the only one who does the reconciling. And it is God who has people cemented in their ignorant darkness.

2 Thessalonians 2:1
1Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,

12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I see you use the term 'context', the reason I do not idolize 'context', is

(a) God said not to make idols and worship them and

(b) the idolatry of 'context is not Spiritual Truth in any sense, it is a dead totem to mankind's foolish wisdom.

what 'many' do not discern, is that 'context' supports ideas that are genuinely against clear Biblical teachings.

Even here I have come across some who refuse the Word of God in Spirit fellowship and present INSTEAD their own revised 'context' versions as proof.

So I speak to them, in their folly as the fools they present themselves to be.

You have to decide what you want to ask God of his Word-Jesus, is it Spiritual Truth or the 'contextual' idolatry of man-flesh ?!?
Gods word is most certainly breathed by him, and it is very much spiritual. There's also physical aspects of it as well, it can be traced through history, it was written by men..ect.

I say this because we can trace back these physical qualities and gain a fuller understanding of the historical significance of the scriptures/books.

Tracing these things back also give us apologetics, and historical evidence that help uphold and support the authenticity of the Bible.

This can be used when evangilizing and when bringing others to God

the Spirit can use many things to bring glory to God. Which leads me here,

I think that the Spirit can also use context to help inform us of truth, and confirm truth to us.

Im pretty sure that many times when teaching, the Apostles used the OT to give context to what they were trying to explain to whichever church. (Dont have scripture to add here because to my knowladge its everywhere in the NT, but if you'd like I will add some:) )

In John (4:23) Jesus mentions that we have to worship in Spirit and truth, I wonder what this would look like. Contextually, I believe he says this to a woman who was lead to believe something incorrect about worshiping God(John 4:22), Jesus corrects her and says that the time is coming where they will worship in Spirit and truth. I would say Spirit is important, we should be guided by the Spirit, but that truth is equally as important:)

Some might argue that context/support helps establish truth.

Ephesians 4:15 mentions that we should speak the truth in love. After describing how men fall away to all sorts of different doctrines(Ephesians 4:14)

I would say that context can give us a valuable way to do that, as it can help establish what is true and help us test the spirits. Using context from other areas of the scripture and even the original language/ historical evidence can help at times.

In Titus 1:9 Paul mentions how an overseer must hold firm to what he has been taught, which is trustworthy. That he may teach sound doctrine, rebuking those who contradict it.

I would say that this doctrine that He/s (the overseer/s) being taught is not mere scripture, but ideas supported by scripture(since doctrine are ideas formed by scripture). These ideas would become the foundation used to then help interpret biblical truth.

So far from what I can see, on your behalf, you have given scripture/s to support a view that they dont always contextually support, like the one in Matthew that is regarding taking oaths. The concept is further referenced in James, and is once again referencing oaths:)

And I say this to highlight how context can actually be very important!

I could be wrong, but I dont understand what oaths have to do with what we are talking about here.

I worship in Spirit, but I also worship in truth. I try to hold fast to historical views of Christianity, as not to be lead astray by my own itching ears. My desire to do so is from the Spirit, the one who encourages me to hold fast to faithful teachings and keeps me close to God, for he is the Spirit of truth:)(John 14:17) I do not want to honor my flesh, but to hold fast to everything I know to be true in scripture, and when debated, I research and look into the word which even then can be somewhat vague. I use scripture to interpret other scripture to get as full of an idea as I can possible have, and then i move on to extra biblical resources.

I use history, language and science as much as scripture will support it, when it supports scripture itself. If it contradicts the scripture, which hold the ultimate authority, I let it go.

for example, when science contradicts scripture I always choose the side of scripture and think of that science as theory.

I used context to hold fast to Scripture and I worship God lead by the Spirit. I also pray in the spirit, using scripture as a guide at times.

I think we can have Spirit and truth friend:) and I believe context can be a part of this process.

I could be wrong, and im certainly not the most informed here, or logical. Though I try. I would like someone much smarter than me to engage here, with more education and proper reasoning. Though im not sure this will happen 🥲🥲

Anyway, I hope this makes sense to you. I tried my best to support my thinking as best as I could. Thank you for your time and energy friend. I do not think I am foolish, nor do I think you are foolish. I do however think that your dislike of context could lead to you being lead astray by your own thinking, but to each their own. I trust that God can keep you guarded.

I understand what you are explaining, I am not about to ask you to change your views that would be very rude of me, and also it is your choice.

I wanna leave you with this food for thought, receive or reject it , it is your choice.

Jesus stated :

Luke 17:21
nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Of course Jesus is referring to the Spirit of God that dwells within all of us since birth, that is 1/2 of what makes us all living beings.

"the kingdom of God" is where God dwells, and where God dwells in Spirit, The Faithful will discern God's KNOWLEDGE.

The Knowledge of God is expressed outward in the Spirit of Truth that is Jesus, who is the Living Word of God.

Now is this Spiritual KNOWLEDGE given in 'context' or in Spirit !?!

1 Corinthians 2:10
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

witness...

Matthew 16:13
13When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

20Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

The kingdom of God is not the Spirit of God. One is a realm; the other is a Person.

The Spirit of God does not dwell within each of us since birth. The Spirit of God does not dwell in us until we accept the lordship and salvation of Jesus Christ. If your premise were true, every human would be saved and Jesus' death would be irrelevant.

Neither; it's just bafflegab carefully designed to make you sound wise (to yourself) while actually revealing that your words are empty unbiblical fluff.

You don't understand what "context" is, and instead of simply admitting that, you rail against it and call it "carnal".

Hence why we all need exegesis😐😐

Im not sure he will begin to understand that though, I hope he can consider that he is being lead astray by his own false interpretations, therefore making poor judgments about scripture and advertising these thoughts online, possibly misleading many new Christians.

Thanks for this reply, you did a great job correcting his errors:)

Brother @Falconn007 I do appreciate you as a person and your passion for God is apparent. This is commendable. However I hope that you will consider what has been said here, and understand that you too could be wrong. When one is wrong, it is best that change follows, so yes I ask that you consider changing your views regarding some things. It seems you have not followed the Spirit of God, but rather your own mind. And this is okay, we've all been there, the thing to do now would be to look into correction and change your view. And I am not trying to be rude, but I worry for you. I am saying this out of love for you. I hope nothing but the best for you.
