Catholic Church:

2. Head of the Church

The “mark” symbolizes allegiance to man’s authority over God’s commandments.

Yes, I forgot that one — and you’re right, it’s a major point. As we can clearly see, the Roman Catholic Church is not following the Word of God, which makes it a false form of Christianity — a religious system rather than biblical faith.
Scripture warns us about replacing God’s Word with man-made traditions:
“Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:9 KJV).
The Bible makes it clear that salvation is through Christ alone — “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5 KJV) — and that we are saved by grace through faith, not by rituals or works (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV).

Actually, the Greek genders used in Matthew 16:18 indicate that the foundation is faith.
One support Roman Catholics use for Mary having a special persuasive power with Jesu is the fact that, when Mary brought the lack of wine to His notice, He told her that His time for doing miracles was not yet, but nevertheless Jesus solved the problem she had brought to Him. Ipso facto, asking Mary to petition Jesus is especially effective.
However, there was a certain Gentile Syrophenician woman asked for her problem to be solved and Jesus told her she was asking for something outside of His brief, but because of her faith He gave her her request. So I suppose, by the same Roman Catholic logic, we can also get faster response times, if we ask that now-dead Syrophenician woman to tug on Jesus heart-strings for us as well.

Catholics often cite the wedding at Cana as proof that Mary has unique persuasive power with Jesus — since He told her His time had not yet come, yet still performed the miracle. But if that single incident establishes Mary as an eternal intercessor, then by the same logic we could also pray to the Syrophoenician woman, because her persistence likewise moved Jesus to act outside His original mission (Mark 7:25–29).
The point is simple: Jesus responded to faith, not to family connection or status. In both cases — Mary at Cana and the Syrophoenician woman — Christ’s compassion answered direct trust in Him, not intercession through another.

I agree with what you said. But would add some elaboration; The Catholic church adds human tradition to the Word of God.
The hierarchy of the RCC, popes, bishops, etc. pollute the Bible with man made tradition and rules. I believe they will be punished by The LORD for doing so.
OTOH, I would not say that the laity of RCC membership are lost souls. This because they believe Jesus Christ is Lord, He was born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, He died on the cross and rose again on the third day. These are the basics of salvation.
The RCC puts Mary as the intercessor with Christ. But Christ is our intercessor with God The Father.

The way I check to see if a "modern' Bible version has been corrupted by the RCC, is to check verses like Gal 2:20 or Rev 14:12, ( and MANY others) where the Antichrist spirit has changed the understanding of how we are saved, to eternal Life.
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith OF Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith OF Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. ~ AKJV

- Faith in – the prepositional phrase highlights our personal trust placed in Jesus. This describes saving faith as a reliance on the Son’s atoning work, the hand‑out of the Spirit that we actively exercise.
This understanding of the differences, between the two concepts, exposes the agenda of the RCC, for their corruptions in the NIV ( and many, "most" modern bible translations). This changes our understanding of The Word of God, to place the emphasis on "OUR" Faith, rather than Jesus' Faith. We have no power to salvation, only Jesus does, by His Faith, ... by His Righteousness, and this is NOT by OUR righteousness, ... ( cuz we have none ) ONLY by Jesus and His Righteousness.
