They also require immersion. But yeah, they're definitely wrong on Jesus Only and baptismal regeneration.context is need did the priest submerge the lamb they offered up ? Did the priest dip the blood or sprinkler it on the Ark?
they are not saying in the UPC you can be dipped, sprinklered, or immersed in water. They say if you're not in Jesus' name only you are not saved. That is error. Cut it, slice it any way you want. Two verses in the Bibe did not speak on this topic there is more. The UPC refuse to see it. oh well. that is on them.
Sure it does.No it does not that is allegorizing Scripture. improper biblical interpretation.
it is not a rule that is a legalistic approach to one of what is known as the ordinances of the church. Oneness did not even come on the sense until the 1913. and was seen as error. there is not one example of the term I baptize you in Jesus' name for something so essential for salvation.
yes all the word is good but that don't mean you read into it they word must be harmonized with all scriptures. And kept in context .Your post, 2015
All of HIS word is good, but none of the verse's you shared tell me how I GET RID OF MY SINS.
Or are you saying just reading them does?
2017 post your opinion of water baptism.
2018 What about Acts 19?
Acts 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
If you think getting rid of our sins is not a part of being baptized then your saying we can be reborn and never get rid of our sins.
Did you share how we get rid of our sins?
Do you think we have to?

Are you @LightBearer316?yes all the word is good but that don't mean you read into it they word must be harmonized with all scriptures. And kept in context .
When you study the word salvation or the doctrine of Soteriology = salvation
Water Baptism is not the superior topic of salvation
It is the theme of both the Old and New Testaments. It is personal, national, and cosmic. And it centers on the greatest Person, our Lord Jesus Christ.
According to the broadest meaning as used in Scripture, the term salvation encompasses the total work of God by which He seeks to rescue man from the ruin, doom, and power of sin and bestows upon him the wealth of His grace encompassing eternal life, provision for abundant life now, and eternal glory (Eph. 1:3-8; 2:4-10; 1 Pet. 1:3-5; John 3:16, 36; 10:10).

I think @CS1 is @LightBearer316This I know, sin seperates us from GOD.
GOD told Adam eat of the tree and you shall surly die, it effects us also.
So we will never be Heaven bound without getting rid of them, of course we need the Holy Ghost also.
I know how to get rid of them would you like me to share?
I think @CS1 is @LightBearer316
If man said to a crowd of people: Repent, and be baptized every one of you for a billion dollars, a car and a house fully paid for, and a clean bill of health (and thousands of people did and they received what was promised), people would be jumping in the water left and right. But when God says through an Apostle, and recorded in His word to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins, people will not. Sad.Do you, I know there heading down the wrong road together.
I will keep that in mind.
Thank you all we can do is plant those seeds.
GOD BLESS YOU.

If Peter told you to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins, would you do it?maybe but repenting is the key and you have know why you are doing that before you are water baptized.

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you [f]have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having [g]loosed the [h]pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, [i]according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, 31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore being exalted [j]to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the [k]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
Now here is something many of the UPC fail to read after Acts 2:28
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42
THERE WERE MORE THAN 3000 WHO HEARD THE MESSAGE but not all who heard Peter were saved.
"with many other words he testified and exhorted them," after what was said in Acts 2:38.
Learn to read and study your bible instead of circling your wagon around one verse in one chapter.
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized;
Then after they received more from Peter he witnessed to them Then they received them and THEN were baptized.
Note Naaman was not healed at the point of belief but after obedience to what he believed.Naaman in the old testaments ? FYI he was healed by Obedience to the word told to him by the Elisha.
Did God know that he would be obedient? Do you think obedience is for the benefit of God, or the believer and those that witness their obedience?Note Naaman was not healed at the point of belief but after obedience to what he believed.
"Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel" 2 Kings 5
NT parallel necessitates belief and obedience as well: "Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sin..." Acts 2:38

Of all the detailed water baptisms not even one records the use of the phrase Father, Son and Holy Ghost.Method? water Baptism is a Method? Water Baptism in Jesus name only is method or Water Baptism in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit also a Method?
I have answered this question more than once all can see that AS I said and will again Water Baptism in Jesus name and water Baptism in the Name of The Father , Son and Holy Spirit are both vial ways to water baptize.
