A: We're keeping A. What's Thanksgving without a turkey? That's like a car without an engine.

B: We're keeping B. It's delicious and it adds veggies to what is otherwise a sugar and grease fest.

C: We're keeping C. Gotta have pie. My favorite pie is... round.

D: We're keeping D. It's in a croissant form, but a bread roll in any shape. Gotta have it.

Eliminate what you want. More for me. There's plenty of room on my plate. And if I can't eat it all and you refuse to eat it, leftovers are cool. :D

Oh you're getting a winner for that one! You're like my hubby, you'd be easy to feed for the holiday. My sister always tells me I'm making too much. I said " there's no such thing as too much". We eat turkey for a week afterward, turkey sandwich, hot turkey sandwich, turkey soup, that's the best part of the holidays!!

And WHERE is the cranberry sauce!?

The cranberry sauce, shaped like a can. If you know you know. lol
I invited the singles cause everyone else is fighting wars in the BDF and News Forums. I wanted to enjoy a holiday thread where we don't argue for once. Something all are invited to. We need some fun up in here!

Pizza, for Thanksgiving!? What is wrong with you?!!! lol So you're good if they're all gone. This is getting more and more interesting.
I'll keep the beans. I like potatoes and gravy but that wasn't a choice. The addition of Hawaiian Rolls would make turkey sliders a viable option.

Okay, are we all done on the first one? Keep the answers coming!! Now we're moving to dessert. Eliminate One!

Alright, I don't even know what the first one is but it looks good. I guess for me it would be the lemon cake, lemon is more a summer dessert to me.

I was actually surprised to find out so many people don't care for turkey! I grew up on it I guess for the holidays. Now my aunt is Danish and she said that turkey is an American thing, they had goose!! Not sure I would like that.

I will not!

Due to a family history of diabetes, I am cutting a paper thin wedge of each cake and trying a bite. But I am going to try some of each one. Don't you dare chunk a single one!

Goose meat tastes a lot like pork liver. I have no idea why.

Mind you, I am not saying that is a bad thing... Goose is pretty doggone tasty.

Hahaa! That reminds me when hubby and I were dating. I had promised to make him a cake, just a boxed one, nothing special. It was warm weather and the kitchen had a back door to the deck. So as I was using the beaters on the cake batter a moth flew in and danced across the counter. I was like " you're not gonna" and the dumb thing made a jump and before I could grab it, it jumped IN my batter!! Ugh! I was so mad and upset. There was no way I could fish all the guts and pieces of the silly thing out of the batter so I threw it in the garbage. I didn't have time to make another. So when my now hubby showed up I told him the whole sad story. He said " Look, you never throw out cake, or any other sweets, ever!! Just don't tell me what happened and it won't bother me." I was like "Are you serious"? Yep, he was and now I just fish out whatever it is, make extra icing and he's happy as a clam. rofl

Huh!! Now I'm gonna have to see if I can find one. I guess that's what Scrooge brought to the Christmas feast so it can't be that bad. (y)

Mama gets to go shopping ALONE the next day, and daddy doesn't have to worry about what to feed the kids (Just make sure there's plenty of milk and cereal for the morning  )

I was actually tryin to lobby for pizza this year as well (out of consideration for the hosts -- so much easier than a full meal!)

However, that idea was promptly vetoed and shot down! Lol.

Looks like turkey it shall be...

Truth be told, I've made "real" cranberry sauce a couple of times (with stevia...)

As good as it is, I still get a hankering for the stuff in a can.

(Though I prefer whole berry rather than just the straight-up jelly.)

For me, I would definitely eliminate the Spice Cake. It's ok, but not a must-have. Same with the banana... I could let that one go as well.

Therefore, I am sneaking off with the entire Lemond Pound Cake and White Chocolate Raspberry Cake as compensation. :p

But only because they both have frosting.

A cake without frosting (buttercream, not that horrible Cool Whip stuff,) is utterly naked and completely unacceptable.

Good Knight.

Now, I'm no triumph in the kitchen, that's for sure, but the immediate question that popped into my head was, WHAT ON EARTH wanders through @ThereRoseaLamb's kitchen EVERY TIME SHE MAKES A CAKE and just "HAPPENS" to fall into the batter at just the right time??!!:LOL:

I have this image of random animals making their way through her kitchen at JUST the right time, EVERY SINGLE TIME she makes a cake.

Next thread idea: "Poll: Guess Which Kinds of Things/Critters Have Fallen/Flown Straight Into ThereRoseALamb's Cake Batter?!"

Later on, when Rose and Mr. Rose sit down to dinner, she'd be like, "Now honey, I TRIED to get all the lizard scales out but there might be one or two strays..."

And Mr. Rose would be like, "We never throw out a cake! NEVER!!! A few scales? Bah! Just adds a little texture, that's all..."
