I don't ask who will be lifted up to Heaven, that would be to lift Christ up for crucifixion again
And I certainly don't say you go down to the dead, for this is to lie about His Resurrection.

When we allow God to define His commandments Exo20:6 , which He did and when we love Him, we keep them just as He asked Exo20:6 John14:15 John15:10 Rev14:12 Rev 22:14

If you are speaking of something different, that God did not define as His or served a different purpose, perhaps we do not agree. either way, its time I move on.

Follow all the commandments that you are better at keeping the Law than the Pharisees. Then He calls us Friends, not because we have ceased to live with iniquity but because we are dead to the Law.

Salvation is always only granted to those that believe in Jesus.

But what about my obedience?

Your obedience is critical but your obedience is not the reason itself for your salvation.

The crucifixion of Jesus is the only reason for your salvation.

You must receive the seal first and that seal; the Holy Spirit, allows that self discipline.

You must sort out what you believe!

Jesus did make the path clear, but He never said it was empty of obedience, fruit, or change. Jesus always joined believing with living.
Jesus said:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Matthew 7:21​
So calling on His name alone is not enough. Jesus Himself says obedience matters.
Jesus also said:
“Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things which I say?”
Luke 6:46​
This directly answers the idea that belief without obedience is sufficient.
Now about fruit and obedience, Jesus explained it with a parable:
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away.”
John 15:2​
And again:
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered.”
John 15:6​
Notice carefully. These branches are “in Me”, yet they are removed because they bear no fruit. That means belief alone is not the end. Fruit is required.
Jesus also taught this with the fig tree:
“I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none… Cut it down.”
Luke 13:7​
The tree was planted. It had time. But when it produced no fruit, it was cut off.
Jesus never taught “My blood instead of obedience.”
He taught His blood and obedience together, with obedience as the proof of real faith.
Jesus said:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:15​
He did not say, “If you believe, obedience no longer matters.”
Jesus also explained righteousness:
“Unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:20​
So righteousness is required, but it comes from a changed heart that obeys God, not from empty words.
Jesus summed it up like this:
“Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Matthew 7:24​
And the one who does not obey:
“Everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man.”
Matthew 7:26​
So the true choice is not “the blood of Jesus or obedience.”
According to Jesus, the truth is this:
His blood brings life, and that life must bear fruit.
Where there is no fruit, there is no life.

Under the law means not under the condemnation of the law or guilty before God for sin, breaking God’s law.

Rom 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become [a]guilty before God.

It does not mean we can bypass only worshipping God or not stealing from our neighbor and think we free doing the will of God. God wrote His law in our hearts, so it’s something we should not rebel against, if we love Him.

I must've missed this post where I encouraged worshipping other gods or stealing from my neighbor or that anyone should feel free from doing the will of God written on their heart or rebellion against it, if they love Him. Disingenuity certainly doesn't love its neighbor.

no, the ten Commandments called by God the Covenant and the rest of the law of Moses are very different and have a different purpose.

The 10 comandments were part of the law. Saying that they stand apart is like saying circumcision stood apart from the law because it was a separate covenant. But circumcision was a commandment of the law.

The old covenant was the covenant God made with Israel at Sinai, and Scripture says plainly that this covenant was the Ten Commandments. Deuteronomy 4:12–13 says, “The Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire… So He declared to you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.” The same truth is repeated in Exodus 34:28: “He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.” These commandments were spoken directly by God and written by His own finger. Deuteronomy 5:22says, “These words the Lord spoke… with a loud voice; and He added no more. Then He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.” This was the covenant Israel entered into, and this covenant stood as the foundation of their relationship with God.

The prophets later spoke of a new covenant, not because the commandments were changed or removed, but because Israel did not keep the covenant they had entered. Jeremiah 31:31–32 says, “‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers… My covenant which they broke.’” The new covenant would be different in how it works, not different in the righteousness it requires. God does not say He will erase His law. Instead He says what the new covenant contains. Jeremiah 31:33 says, “But this is the covenant that I will make… I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” The change is not the removal of the commandments. The change is the location of the commandments. Instead of being written only on stone, they would be written inside the heart of the believer.

Jesus confirmed this with His own words and actions. Jesus taught that the commandments remain God’s will. In Matthew 5:17 He said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.” In Matthew 19:17 He told the seeker, “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Jesus also showed what love for Him means. John 14:15 says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Jesus is not replacing the Father’s commandments. He is confirming them. In John 15:10 He says, “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” The new covenant does not remove obedience. It brings a new kind of obedience through the Spirit.

Jesus also fulfilled what the prophets wrote about the Spirit being given to those who believe. John 7:38–39 says, “He who believes in Me… out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit.” And after His resurrection, Jesus said in John 20:22, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” The Spirit does not replace the commandments; the Spirit writes them into the heart, just as Jeremiah said.

The new covenant also includes forgiveness in a deeper and final way. In Jeremiah 31:34 the Lord says, “I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jesus confirmed this at the Last Supper. Matthew 26:28 says, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” The new covenant brings cleansing, pardon, and a renewed heart so that the believer can walk in God’s ways with joy and strength.

The Scriptures also teach that the kingdom of God grows in this age, even while not all receive it. Jesus said in Matthew 13:31–32 that the kingdom is “like a mustard seed… which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs.” And in Matthew 13:33 He said the kingdom is like leaven that spreads through the whole lump. The growth of the kingdom continues until He returns. Yet only those who believe receive the Spirit now. John 1:12 says, “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” And those who receive Him walk in His words because His law is written in their hearts, as the prophet declared.

This is the distinction the Scriptures give. The old covenant was the Ten Commandments written on stone and heard at Sinai. The new covenant is the same Ten Commandments written on the heart by the Holy Spirit, joined with the forgiveness and life that come through the blood of Jesus. Jesus confirmed the commandments by His teachings, kept them perfectly in His life, and through the Spirit He gives, He enables His people to keep them from the heart. The kingdom grows as the word spreads, but only the true believers receive the Spirit now and have God’s commandments written within them until the day He returns.

A covenant is an agreement

= a formal agreement or promise between two or more people: When a covenant is made, then to break it is unjust.

God made an agreement with Israel, God did not break it in any way or fail in any way.

The agreement was ....
The Lord said.....
Exo 19:5-6 KJV 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Israel replied....
Exo 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.


Israel said....
Exo 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
The covenant was ratified by the blood of beasts,
....7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

All the words of God they promised to obey.

Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Heb 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

It was much more then just the 10 commandments.

Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

The covenant was failed by Israel and contracts or covenants are broken when one side fails.

The new covenant is ....
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

It still has commandments but this time Jesus will write them on our hearts.

Our part is to allow Jesus to put the laws in our hearts and minds.

The covenant isn't the laws and commandments it is the promises on both sides.
