In this sermon we get clear insight where the doctrine of total depravity originates from, some 1000 years before John Calvin, from saint Augustine.

We also get clear insight into what it means what it entails and why we need to understand it. As if we understand the t in tulip the rest of tulip just falls into place very easily.

Key points original sin does not mean we inherit the original sin but because of the first mans.sins our nature became corrupted.

No one is perfect we are all sinners because of our sinful nature.

Total depravity does not mean a person can be as wicked as they can possibly can, be but rather it effects the whole nature of a person, including his will and his capacity to think because his nature has become weakened and darkened.

The will of man is no longer in it's pristine state.of moral power, but the will of man is now in bondage and enslaved to the impulses of heart that become corrupted by evil intentions of the original sin, where by the mind and soul has become infected by the power of sin.

The sermon goes on to say most would agree where fallen and fallen is a serious thing,

The debate then goes onto focus on how far mankind has fallen.

His viewpoint goes as far to say he changes the t in tulip to say radical corruption, on the idea that radical is something that means it permeates to the core of the things, core meaning the heart, and sin being something that comes from the heart.

He then goes on to suggest the only cure is nothing less than renovation and regeneration and being quickened by the spirit.

Heres the very insightful sermon in my view point spoken with great Care and empathy for those who are fallen

Total depravity might be better named "final depravity" as in Matt. 13:14-15/Acts 28:26-27 & Heb. 6:4-6, Matt. 12:31, 1Tim. 4:1-2,
2Tim. 3:1-8, Tit. 3:10-11.

people have different viewpoints, that's as much as I will say, as I really am not the sort to hold doctrines above the head of God's sovereignty and swear alliances to them. especially when the doctrine of tulip is something that dates back 1000 years, and have just become controversial points of views, that are only a tiny small proportion of what reformed faith is actually all about.

Total depravity was originally meant to represent original sin by Saint Augustine, that has been twisted to many different ideas.

Where people thinks it means a person can be as wicked as they can possibly be, no it means they can be that way, and go that way,

Yeah. I've always liked him. What don't you like about him?

He delivers his content well and he is engaging.

His son posted on X, that a young girl raped and tortured for hours and then murdered "received the judgement from God she had earned."

Of course the back lash was quite severe and he deleted it. His father was of the same mind.

Someone who can believe that, is not someone I want influencing my mind.

i don't remember ever hearing anything like that when I used to listen to him on the car radio

Perhaps his son is not as polished in his delivery.

It is part and parcel of the tenet that God sovereignly ordains evil and allows evil so that He can magnify himself and those who are not beneficiaries of God's mercy or grace receive what was coming to them.

Again, with this school of thought, sometimes they are very clear and other times one has to read in-between the lines.
I am quite sure he is a five point Calvinist (TULIP) with regeneration for the selected preceding faith.
I will pass.

Just to be clear it was his son on X and I do have a screen shot, it is posted on the free will thread.
If it gives you great satisfaction to demolish the truth then go right ahead, that's your choice to do so.

But just to be clear with your other willful ignorance here, the so called five points of tulip have become known as main the five points of Calvinism by people like you, John Calvin theologies never where just about the five points of tulip, and to be also clear the theologies of John Calvin cover a much wider spectrum than just the five points of tulip,

It's just incredible how you can't comment on the truth of this opening post and the history of the protestant true reformed theology, and just ignore the truth yet again. Which is total depravity from it's original source saint Augustine 1000 years before John Calvin didn't mean utter depravity, and John Calvin would also have known that total depravity didn't mean utter depravity.

have a great day in enjoying providing your next derail after this truth will no doubt gripe you.

And the Lord Jesus Christ did something about this peculiar place that man is in.........
John 3:16.......Very clear.

Acts 16:31......Very clear.

2 Cor 6:2
For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Teach it. Love it. Live it.......The Lord Jesus Christ FIXED our problem.

To make salvation a enigma to ANYONE is ..........Well, not GOOD.

He has the intellect of the most wise of men. Well beyond most of us.

He is a child in the mind of Christ.

Yep God helps people because there nature is depraved because of mans first sin, depraved of accepting the truth, depraved of having a pristine state of moral power, and because of that our great church fathers like saint Augustine John Calvin went to great lengths to educate people.

And thats what the first post was all about, to educate people with the truth.

Where as you educate us with ignorance

He has the intellect of the most wise of men. Well beyond most of us.

He is a child in the mind of Christ.
he may be a child in the mind of Christ, but he's certainly one that's grown up, unlike you

he may be a child in the mind of Christ

I agree.

He has not a clue of the problem solving devices. He has not a clue of how to live the Christian way of life.......He doesn't even know the basics of The Lord Jesus Christ living, dying and rising again for ALL OF MANKIND.

He is a patsy.
