That little bird even looks like the little monster haha but a tiny version.

I’m not sure whether to believe that fact or not but because I’ve never heard that before, I’m going to assume it is fact until proven otherwise by a CC fact checker….imagine if we had those? Does anyone remember how annoying those were before the pandemic, on social media? Anyways, I’m going to look that up, just for my own personal comfort. Not saying you are untrustworthy, just saying I don’t trust anyone.

What this means to me is improvement and creativity. This character is for book series I'm currently writing and I've been drawing them for over 4 years now. This is the latest version of her and my best recent work. I've been drawing over 20 years and now I'm finally improving.

Well this thread has got itself trashed rather royally IMO. That horned god figure for an avie is over the top as well. Fascination with this type of things invites demons and once again, y'all can like me. What I said is the truth and apparently people cannot take simple instruction.

I believe it to be the cover art for his Adult Goth coloring book. Doesn't belong in a Christian forum period nor does the horned god avatar. Avatar: This image is the album cover for "Outlive" by the American Christian metal band Demon Hunter.

Gee you know, I also don't think there is such a thing as a 'Christian' metal band and there are no demon hunters.

I've seen too much of the other side. It's not funny.

I do not believe Christians should just accept whatever because we always need to be 'nice'. I could say so much here, but probably better I just shut up.

I posted a "Like" on Koji's explanation in response to him as a person, not in response to the picture, as it's not something I'm drawn to either.

If I remember correctly, and @Kojikun, feel free to chastise me for mentioning this, but I believe Koji is someone who has been here on CC for a very long time -- several years -- but not always under that name, so he has a much longer history than what's shown under this name.

He has documented his ups and downs, his struggles and hardships, and his walk of faith for many years here, and it's been an honor to watch his life grow.

When he wrote about drawing over 20 years, that's the part I was "Liking" -- the fact that despite the challenges, he hasn't given up -- because I believe God is molding him. He might not be at a place others approve of, but I've seen the positives in his journey over the years.

I liked his post for the tenacity alone.

No, I don't just "Like" anything that's put up on a Christian site. I grew up in church; I know all too well how everything must be sifted.

But if I see a quality in someone, such as pressing forward, then yes, I will most definitely give that a "Like", even if it's not fully explained why I gave it. A full explanation shouldn't have to be given.

Part of my calling is to look beyond the works, and try to encourage the person behind them.

Why would you think my post was directed at you? Please don't assume what I write is this or that. Maybe ask me next first? I was really thinking along the lines of what I expressed....as in 'Christians seem to think we always should be nice.' That, would actually have more to do with certain things in my own life actually but yeah, I think I could live without that pic.

Look, I know you are always nice and you and I both have 'distinct' ways of expressing ourselves, but sniping at people, as it seems you think I might have done, is not my trademark. You mention 'calling', I have counselled people who got caught up in what they thought was innocent, but then things start to happen in their lives. I can't just say 'good for you'. That's just not who I am but you stay as you are; we are not all the same. You might just be a little sensitive and protective which is fine.

I think the best policy is to always ask. Thanks

This thread, for some reason, seems to have opened up a door or 2 I never saw coming. My reactions are mine for sure but then again with my interest in and study in both art and photography I had very different expectations. I don't see art as an end as in 'finally achieved my goal' but rather a lifelong learning curve and a journey.

I don't think it is possible to have the kind of thread I had hoped this might be but then again, the same can be said for just about every thread in the BDF so there's that.

At any rate, I guess if I want serious discussion or appreciation of art, I will just have to hang out with artist friends or a board online wherein we understand each other. This thread has seemd to bolster misunderstandings and misconceptions when I thought it might be fun and interesting.

Apparently, I still don't understand how these threads work.

Why do I need to ask when its you who is assuming something about me without asking me?

Why did you assume I thought your post was towards me -- because I'm the only one to answer so far?

I took your posts as being directed clearly towards your collective audience -- as in, anyone and everyone reading them. I also understood them to be you voicing your opinion, as of course you have the right to do -- and then inviting anyone in your audience to respond.

I'm part of your audience.

I just happened to respond as individual. Whether other individuals in the audience choose to answer or not is up to them. Just because I answer doesn't mean I think your posts are for me -- they were for everyone, right?

I do understand what you're trying to say. I used to be in a ministry that wrote to and visited prison inmates for about 8 years. Do you think when the inmates wrote me about certain things they were up to or thinking about, like "elopement" (a code word chosen for "escape" to dodge screening,) that I would cheer them on and tell them everything was fine and dandy?

Of course not. And I say this to say, yes, I do understand that what can seem innocent can actually be a very sharp thorn, even if the person can't, or won't see it at the time, and it's our job to point that out.

However, God also taught me during that time to look for anything positive I could reinforce, and that's what I meant as part of my calling.

Yes, there are absolutely times we need to call things out and admonish them.

But I was simply explaining my own point of view in the context of this thread and its subject -- not as a sensitive individual assuming you were speaking only to her, but as a member of the audience wanting to share a different outlook.

This whole thing started out when I stated my viewpoints that disagreed with some things in your posts. Was I not allowed to disagree?

And then you answered me, and now you're saying that it's ME going on and on because of you speaking up to disagree with my post.

I'm not understanding how you expressing your own view is perfectly acceptable and somehow me expressing myself is "going on and on," and "digging and digging," but as you wish. What's allowed for you isn't for others.

I get to a point where I keep answering because I'm writing for the people reading. Some will feel I'm being ridiculous, and I understand that.

But what I don't understand is why you feel it's ok for you to express yourself, but when I do, it's somehow not allowed and something you said in your post #134 that I can "move on" from.

I've followed your posts for many years -- not all of them, as I can't keep up with everyone -- but I've always enjoyed reading your story as it unfolds.
