Has the single forum died down?

I am Canadian - there are ways and means.
If you really need transport, there's uber, but I don't know if its common in your area.
E-bikes - they can run out of battery, unfortunately. But like everything, you need to maintain them.

if you are short of money and need something like to cover necessary medical care, and your country doesn't provide welfare, I think you can do a Crowdfund and an appeal and the good-hearted people with big pockets may donate or sponsor you, The thing with Crowdfund or Givealittle, is it all adds up, so even if people don't have loads of cash to spare, if everyone donates a dollar, the combined total may be enough.

I mean you can take my advice or not, it may not work for you. But I think reading your posts that you need hope and to get to a better place. It's not a good thing to hate your parents. Been there, done that.

I am aware, I can't do uber as I don't own a cell phone, and ebikes I can't store because I live in an apartment. we do have welfare I am on ODSP have been for 20 years and God as my witness I want a job so I can get off of it.

Not sure what ODSP is, but yea finding a job while housebound/apartment bound and no mobile connection would be difficult. I don't know what kind of jobs are available in your area, that you could do.

You obviously have internet though.
I suppose you can thank God for welfare - but a lot of church people would beg to differ. They expect everyone is able to have a job and pay their own way.

If I didn't have welfare, I would probably be homeless.

ODSP Is Ontario Disability, true, Yes I use the schools internet, or the public library. I suppose, I agree

Yes and no, Libraries are a vast source of information which promote community and connections when people go in person,
the internet promotes social isolation, and economic loss with ecommerce taking money out of the economy and taking it over seas leaving less jobs and money for infrastructure and economic investments.

hmm Internet came here about 1996 so I was...16.
I didn't do IM, my bros were into ICQ and video games.
I just did e-groups and then fan forums.
I 'met' or corresponded with people from all over the world.
 
I didn't have a church as wasn't Christian then, and I wasn't invited to any youth groups with my Christian high school friends. There was ONE fellowship group, a girl was always trying to convert me, by sort of making me her charity case, but she was genuine.

I was a bit put off though, and I didn't understand Christianity then. The boys were a bit too clean-cut, but they never paid any attention to me. I was just another loose heathen.

oh ok, yeah I didn't get saved or become a Christian until I was around 20, it's possible she was just trying too hard.
I can understand that. Yes their are some who have the look but don't have the heart. Better than my experience at a secular school,
kids always picked on me, teased me or beat me up. I think my mom sent me just to re-live her childhood through me, I wasn't wanted at home so my mom sent me to school, the kids didn't want me so they treated me like crap and when I got the blame my teachers and principal sent me home as a punishment.... It's probably why I always feel like no one wants me and hate being at home.

That's rough.
Some kids will bully anyone weaker than them. You don't even have to have anything wrong with you - just be younger.

Now, I barely come on. The only people I talk to off CC are Siberian_Khutura (sp?) (visiting him in spring! We go see each other every year, and it's my turn to see him :) ), Erica821, and BruceWayne.

I do miss being active on here, but it brings up bittersweet emotions :/ And I don't do well with bittersweet emotions.

I remember hosting movie nights, and 20+ people would join, and I would host game nights. It was just overall fun. Not saying it isn't anymore, it's just different now. Life happens, and people move on. Life gets busy. But I miss the old days, and I will always be grateful for the time that I did have on here.

I came back after about 2 years away.
I wasn't part of the live chat, possibly cos the time zones are different for me.
