please, let us go directly to Jesus Himself
Do you think the writings of the Apostles were not Jesus speaking, talking about the entire New Testament?
Or, are only the words in red legit and all others can be ignored or are somehow less truthful not counting and being the Word of God?
Luke 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
According to Jesus, the law and the prophets stopped being taught by the Lord starting with the ministry of John the Baptist. Luke 16:16 is in RED, so that's Jesus speaking.
Jesus goes on to say all teaching starting with John the Baptist going forward is the kingdom of God is preached, aka Gospel of the Kingdom.
Everything Jesus taught in the Gospels is under the Gospel of the Kingdom and as mentioned earlier He reiterated some things from the old covenant like the moral law of God.
But no where in the New Covenant are we told to follow the Ten Commandments. No, we are told to follow the Law of Christ aka the Doctrine of Christ.
To focus on the old covenant after Jesus came to take that away and establish the New Covenant (Hebrews 10:9) is teaching in error. Some may say this is semantics but it's important that we teach the New Covenant not the old.
That's the Lord speaking in Hebrews 10:9
2 John 1:9
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1 Corinthians 9:21
To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
Galatians 6:2
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
James 2:12
So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
James 1:25
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Hebrews 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Acts 2:42
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
1 Timothy 6:3-5
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
