If God Exists, Why am i so depressed?

That pretty much sums it up. The human race these days makes me want to jump off the Sears Tower. Me me me me me; are there good people in the world left who listen, or just people who talk? About me me me me? People who don't see you or your pain. Narcissists. It really, really depresses me.

I am asking God to guide me and left with a big ol'lump of...nothing.
 
Depression isn't from God, it comes mainly either from own hurt or it is being demonic. Although the enemy does likes to reminding us of our hurt, and it is mostly attacks being given from the enemy when we start pity-ing ourselves, and becoming what we call depressed.

Perhaps what you are having is a form of grief instead of depression? I have heard that there is a difference when having grief from being depressed. Even Jesus grieved at times, over Jerusalem, etc... I can grieve sometimes, most because of the way people can be, or this world, etc.... Just a form of sadness over me. I think we can sometimes feel the same way as God does, looking at all the miseries in this world, looking at people hurting, being poor, feezing, unfairity happening, etc.... I beleive that when we grow closer to God, we also grow closer to His heart, and we can sense and understand more how He must be feeling about all the bad and evil happening in this world.

Also; I think there are a lot of people afraid of sharing to others willing to listening to them. I'd love being there for people, being one that can listen, try to understanding them, try to encourage and comfort through the Lord, but to me it seems like many are more afraid themselves to talk out about it, or they don't want to beleive that anyone wishes to being there for them in the long run, nor that any will understand, nor want to giving them the right comfort and support that they'd need so much. And if many chooses to lock the way they are feeling inside, not wanting to talk out; How can we that wishes to being there for them listen and help? We can't force it out from them. Same as with God and people; They have to choose Him to being their Saviour, He can't force them to doing so.

Know that you are not alone, and that people caring about you do exist out there. Same as with God caring for you, and loving you too. God's Blessings!

Thank you - I don't deserve all the kindness on this board, and struggle with so much guilt shame and fear - but everyone said something that TOUCHED MY HEART.
 
As Christians we are supposed to help, strenghten, build up, comfort as well as encouraging one another in God. This is a part of our mission, and it is honouring and pleasing to God whenever we decide to doing all of this with a wholesome heart in Him. Acts done with a wholesome heart, it is greatly rewarded by God when we choose doing such things...

You do deserve the posts and prayers. Remember, you are a child of God. I, also, struggle with those who never listen, except listen to themselves talk. I am a quiet, thoughtful person and I do not expect everything for myself. It is hard to combat the attitude of self serving people. Sometimes I just have to shut off the news and shut out the attitudes of self serving people and try to do the right thing even though everything else seems out of focus with the plan God had for the world. Do not give up. I have seen too many coincidences (God at work) in my lifetime--sometimes in small but meaningful ways.
Prayers are with you.
 
A good cure for depression is a little oil in your lamp. :)

Sisters, I think in these times we must seek, knock and abide all the more. If you trust and rest in the Lord peace will come.

priestessblue,I see your pain through your writting and it greves my heart. Jesus loves you so much that he gave his life for you,if you were the only one here he still would have done it.
Depression is from satan,he will steal away any chance that you have to know Jesus. Put your trust in him and he will carry you above the depression.

More people posted and I'm so grateful. Tears came to my eyes. The scripture, the love, wow, something I did not get much of as a child (to say the least). Encouragement from people I have never even met who have taken the time to uplift me. I want to be like all of you, and let go of hatred and bitterness in my heart, anger, I really, really do. THANK YOU
