Being sensitive is a blessing but it can also a curse, because you get hurt easily.
Some things can roll of others like water off a ducks back, but if you are thin skinned and not calloused over, it just gets overwhelming.

You either run and hide from people, to keep from being hurt or you just become this bitter and twisted person just to protect yourself.
Its literally a stress response and yes, its probably due to something traumatic in the past, maybe even going back to childhood.

Men are mostly ok, they are trained to be tough. But women, what are meant to do, cry into our pillows? If we fly into a rage, we are just seen as hysterical. Its ok for men to be violent and work off their frustration by maybe hunting and killing something, but what can women do?

I think we are meant to go to Jesus, but it turns out that if we do, we still get mocked for going to Jesus. And sometimes even church is not a safe place for us.

You are definitely meant to turn to Jesus. If people mock you, then they are the fools. The gospel is not about going to heaven when you die. it is about being delivered from all the hurt and bondages of the past. It is about being set free from the prison of self imposed, self protection mechanisms. The gospel is for the "poor", not so much materially, but for those who are weak and beaten down by life. The strong and self confident brush the gospel away.

You'd be surprised about men. Outwardly, they may seem strong. But PTSD is commonplace among men. Men generally do not cope well with divorce. I know that from experience.

I once went to a "support" group called "Parents without rights". I went once but I could not handle the bitterness and resentment; the sorrow and grief. Women are more inclined to be emotional and are better able to cope. Men are not as emotional, so when emotion rises, they do not handle it well.

It's deep irony that men are supposed not to suppress their feelings. Next thing you know, there is a court order to go to an anger management course.

Women are more inclined to talk things through with other women. Men tend to internalise everything and pretend all is OK.

Bitterness is the result of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is a serious hindrance to our walk with Jesus. Let me know; I can provide you a link to an article that can help with the deepest wounds.

Where do broken hearts go anyway?
I think it works like the sliver and the log in the eye, but the other way around.

This is how the compassionate nurse would operate;

"Oh dear, there's a sliver in your eye, let me take it out for you...
Well now, this won't do...
Be patient, just a minute...
I have to take this log out of my eye first the better to see the sliver in your eye."

In the same way, I believe that the ability to see the brokenness in others helps to heal the brokenness in ourselves.

If I see men as 'stronger' than me, then you will 'present myself' to them as weak. But if I see their 'vulnerabilities,' then my resilience will become more apparent.

It has something to do with the law of physics, I think, or something very similar.

I am a sensative heart as well and like you say it can be a blessing and a curse. But sensative people are like flowers they are beautiful and given the right soil they blossom into a glorious bloom but they can be easily trampled as well however their roots still remain and they come back like a pheonix
Yes they c an mocked yes they can hurt easily but they are a unique treasure to the Lord and they are able to emphasis with people they can feel the hurt of others they can reach a stone cold heart and they love more deeply than most people

Huh like the wounded healer.
Do you think Jesus was compassionate because he experienced being despised and rejected in his own life.

hmm a lot of people go to therapists or counsellors to talk things through, though they charge by the hour. I don't think the therapist is allowed to hug you, but they can listen and not interrupt while you let your emotions out.

You should listen to Christian comedian Jeff Allen. He talks about marriage counseling, spending $200 a week when most of their arguments were about lack of money.

There are many trained counselors. A friend of ours has been going for about a year. The problem is that men are programmed to bottle things up. I was saved just before my 21st birthday. By then I was borderline alcoholic, depending how you define it. I was certainly dependent. I tried to quit once. I lasted a few hours. Then I went looking and everything was closed. I cried. If I had got saved, I would most likely have been a statistic, either by suicide or by liver failure.

The idea of seeking help either for my mental or physical needs did not occur to me at all. I went to the doctor once, as I felt so ill. I was given some kind of antacid that I took every few hours to relieve the symptoms. That was it. I had chronic nosebleeds, due to a broken nose that again I allowed to heal by itself. Every few days, my nose would bleed spontaneously, or if I blew it a little too hard. Again, why would I bother a doctor?

I was not unique. Most of my peers were heavy drinkers. We boasted about how much we could put away. It never occurred to me to talk to anyone. I did the opposite. I was ashamed of my weakness and avoided anywhere I'd likely run into people I knew.

God knew though. I was saved and healed completely by the laying on of hands. I still did not open up. One my friends told me I was like an oyster, hard on the outside and soft inside. And that is often the male condition. The outer shell we think protects us. The problem is that we keep God at arms length too.

I would highly recommend people find Christian counselors, if they can. In theory pastors should be able to help. In practice, very often they are so overloaded that they have no time to listen properly. I was blessed to know someone who was wise in Jesus and willing to spend the time needed.

I love intriguing questions, and this is a very good one. I can believe that, but I do also think that Jesus shared in our infirmities because He was compassionate. He shared in them with us because wanted to share our wholeness with Him.
Somehow the 'physics', even of the spirit (Idk what that might be called), fit in there somehow too... I don't know how it works, exactly, though. I didn't do as well in science. But I just know that it works.

I think unlike God the Father, Jesus the Son experienced what it is like to be human and in the flesh, so he knew what it was like to be vulnerable, naked and ashamed and exposed.

God the Father, the almighty never really did. God is spirit, He never gets hurt physically, although I do recall He actually regretted that He made us humans when we misbehaved.

I also recall a passage saying the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) can be grieved. Meaning He can be sad. We are never to hurt the Holy Spirit by insulting or blaspheming Him that's like the worst thing you could do. He won't come back if you do that. And it can't be forgiven in this life or the next.

People who never get hurt or show any vulnerabilty/weakness maybe don't understand or have empathy/compassion. It's like they act superior and you then start to question them by asking who died and made YOU God?

Ok I had another thought (bear with me)
Women tend to be more sensitive and compassionate than men because we go through childbirth, which is physical as well as emotional labour. We can instinctively protect our young because they were birthed inside of us.

Although I understand the maternal instinct can be missing in a lot of women. But its easier for the man who never has to pop out babies and go through childbirth. Babies just magically appear without them having to do any labour!!

Women cry easily just like babies do because they don't have the vocab to ask for help. Women are the helpers themselves - who helps the helpers?

The Bible even shares this sentiment by saying that women will go through the pain and sorrow of childbirth, even Mary was pierced with sorrows in her heart and soul.

Jesus had to be crucified to know what extreme pain would be like.

Never heard of it. Where is that exactly.
That is where the misfits and unwanted Christmas toys go on the animated movie Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. It is a classic Christmas season show. Been on every year for more years than I can remember.

Will look out for it. Care to share a link?

I was thinking how people seem to mock me a lot. It's kind of funny - for them. Not for me.
