This is actually a beautiful verse and I love that you brought it up because when you read it carefully and honestly it does exactly the opposite of what you are implying with it.
You are suggesting that Matthew 7:12 somehow replaces or summarises away the Law and the Prophets into one simple social principle. But look at what Jesus actually said. He did not say this verse cancels the Law and the Prophets. He said it IS the Law and the Prophets. There is a massive difference between those two things.
Jesus was saying that everything contained in the Law and the Prophets, every commandment, every moral instruction, every standard God ever gave, flows from and leads back to this principle of loving others the way you want to be loved. He said almost exactly the same thing when asked about the greatest commandment:
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40 KJV)
All the law and the prophets hang on love. Not hang in the sense of being executed and finished. Hang in the sense of being suspended from, dependent upon, rooted in. Love is the nail. The commandments are what hang on it. You cannot have the nail without what hangs on it and you cannot have what hangs on it without the nail.
Think about it practically. How do you actually treat people the way you want to be treated? You do not murder them. You do not steal from them. You do not lie about them. You do not commit adultery against them. You honour the people God placed in authority over you. You keep your word. You do not covet what belongs to them. Sound familiar? Those are the Ten Commandments. Matthew 7:12 does not replace them. It is their living heart beating underneath every single one of them.
Jesus confirmed this Himself just a few verses earlier in the very same chapter when He said:
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19 KJV)
You cannot use Matthew 7:12 to dismiss the commandments when Jesus spent the entire Sermon on the Mount going deeper into the commandments and warning against teaching others to break them.
A "COVENANT is not just a set of rules and nor was it just a promise. When God made a COVENANT with Abram, both he and the Lord went through a certain ritual which illustrated the underlying principles that defined what a "covenant" was understood to be:The Ten Commandments are the Covenant, did you know?

Instead of merely ASSURING Abraham of His promises, God went further, making a blood covenant with him. If we do not understand this then we will miss the significance of what happened next.

Blood was almost always central to making a covenant

The two halves represented the two different lives that were to be joined - one part represented the man Abram and the other, God

After laying the halves on the wood of the two altars Abram WAITED. As he waited, carrion birds descended on the offering threatening to defile the offering.
11 And the birds of prey descended on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.

As the sun was setting, Abram fell sleep:
12 As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and suddenly great terror and darkness overwhelmed him. (Genesis 15:10)
Only then did the Lord speak:
13Then the LORD said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. 14 But I will judge the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will depart with many possessions. 15You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a ripe old age. 16In the fourth generation your descendants will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”
In the ritual each party to the covenant had to walk between the two altars. This was to symbolize that the two separate lives were to be bound together as one life. Abram had presumably already done his walk through and was apparently waiting for the OTHER covenant partner to do His.
17When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking firepot and a flaming torch appeared and passed between the halves of the carcasses.
In the Bible, fire and clouds were emblems of God's presence:
8 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land—from the river of Egypt to the great River Euphrates
Although God and Abram had walked together for many years this was the day when a covenant was established between them
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

excel still more. For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

like the Gentiles who do not know God; and that no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter

For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not
rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you. Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no
need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; for indeed you do
practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more,
and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands,
just as we commanded you.
Vassal, do you agree with Paul's teaching concerning the commandments given to the Thessalonians?
All Christians view Paul as inspired by Jesus and thus authoritative along with the rest of the NT.
1. Jesus declared that he is Lord of the Sabbath and it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (in Matt. 12:1-12), healing a crippled woman on the Sabbath (in Luke 13:10-16).
2. If Jesus thought keeping the Sabbath was an important law, he would have affirmed it on these two occasions, but he did not specifically nullify it either, which jibes/harmonizes perfectly with Paul.
3. Paul taught that a person may rest on the Sabbath or not (in Col. 2:16, Gal. 4:9-11 & Rom. 14:5).
4. Paul taught that Christ’s crucifixion abolished the law and commandments that separated the Jews and Gentiles (Eph. 2:13-16).
5. Paul taught that the law was powerless to save because of humanity’s sinful nature, so God sent His Son and the Holy Spirit to save believers in Christ (Rom. 8:1-17).
6. Paul indicated that God disqualifies those who reject the Gospel (Rom. 9:1-5, 30-32, 1o:1-13, 16-21) and that reversion nullifies conversion (Gal. 1:6-9).
7. Hebrews encourages Christians to enter God’s Sabbath rest by persevering faith in Christ’s atonement (Heb. 2:14-4:11).
Because the NT does not affirm the Sabbath Law as it did the moral commands in the Ten Commandments, one needs to discern the correct doctrine for Christians by considering the following Scriptures.
1. God rested from His work and rested on the seventh day and made it holy per Gen. 2:2-3.
2. Moses promulgated the Sabbath law as the 4th of the Ten Commandments in Exo. 20:8-11, cf. Lev. 19:3&30, Deut. 5:12-15.
3. Solomon builds a temple for burnt offerings on the Sabbath in 2Chr. 2:4.
4. Isaiah said those are blessed who keep the Sabbath in Isa. 56:2-6.
5. Jeremiah commands keeping the Sabbath holy in Jer. 17:21-27.
6. Ezekiel referred to the Sabbaths in Ezek. 20:12

In Hebrews 7:11-10:1 the Lord says that the OC including the Sabbath Law is obsolete/superseded by the Gospel of Christ. Here are more Scriptures where Sabbath law is viewed as Levitical rather than moral.
Matt. 5:17-20 – Jesus said that he came to fulfill the Law and that righteousness must surpass that of the Pharisees, who observed the Levitical laws (cf. Acts 22:2-3 & 26:4-5).
Matt. 12:1-8 – The disciples did what was unlawful on the Sabbath, but Jesus said the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
Matt. 12:12-14/Mark 3:4-6 – Jesus said that it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath and healed a man, which prompted the Pharisees to plot to kill him for breaking the Sabbath.
Luke 13:10-17 – On a Sabbath Jesus broke Sabbath law by healing a crippled woman, which made the synagogue ruler indignant, so Jesus rebuked him for hypocrisy.
Luke 14:1-6 – While dining with a prominent Pharisee Jesus saw a sick man and healed him from dropsy, noting that an animal which had fallen in a well would have been pulled out with no objection.
John 5:1-18 – Jesus healed a paralyzed man on the Sabbath, so the Jews persecuted him for breaking the Sabbath law.
John 9:1-34 – Jesus healed a blind man on the Sabbath, who believed Jesus was a prophet, and the Jews had decided to excommunicate anyone who said Jesus was Messiah.
These Scriptures indicate that the main reason Jesus was crucified was for the crime of breaking Sabbath law and claiming to be from God. We see that Jesus never taught anyone to keep the fourth commandment and never hinted that it was an eternal moral law, but instead indicated that it is merely Levitical tradition.

I have the same verses in every Bible I have and I know what a covenant is. I know what the New Covenant is also and what it is not, what it is not, is the 10 commandments.
As has been pointed out in this thread and no doubt other threads in this forum, is the fact that God made a covenant with Abraham (as verses above in yr post attest) predating the law, all of it, and undeniably a blood covenant as the new covenant is now in force through the blood of Christ.
An astute person will recognize the sacrificial system as integral with the law given at Sinai. As this is a fact, one must assume that not everyone responding in this thread has that comprehension and will argue up one side and down the other insisting the commandments are our measuring stick and Jesus only died to help us obey them.

Why do you think Jesus healing on the Sabbath nullifies the Sabbath commandment? This is basically saying Jesus sinned, and the Jews were justified in their verdict of He being a sinner- when Jesus Himself said He kept all of the commandments John15:10 including the Sabbath Luke4:16 and never sinned John8:46-48
Jesus said you can do good or evil on the Sabbath. Mark3:4 that is teaching people about the Sabbath, if the Sabbath didn't matter as you are trying to write into the Scriptures (Pro30:5-6) than Jesus would not be teaching how it can be kept by the choices we make. Evil is profaning the Sabbath Neh13:17 Isa56:2.
You are putting words in Jesus mouth because He never taught once not to keep the Sabbath commandment. There was never anything in the 4th commandment that you can't help people in need and best to let them suffer, this is a complete misunderstanding of the character of God and shows a grave misunderstanding of God's Sabbath, much like those who accused Him of sinning.
The Sabbath is about keeping the day holy Exo20:8-11 focusing on our relationship with God Isa58:13 going to church Lev23:3 Luke4:16 Acts 15:21 Acts 18:4 but if someone is sick and needs medical or spiritual help, never was it a sin to help someone in need. This is what Jesus was correcting with the Pharisees and Jews, because they made their own man-made version of the sabbath, much like man has today with the day they choose to keep holy instead of the day God said for us to Remember to keep holy Exo20:8-11 that comes with the power of His Blessings Exo20:11 Isa56:1-2 and Sanctification Gen2:3 Eze20:12, that man just can't do by themselves. There are no animal sacrifices in the Ten Commandments. Exo20:1-17 The Ten Commandments is what shows sin 1John3:4 James2:11 Mat5:19-30 Rom7:7, why there is a death decree for breaking them, the wages of sin is death Rom6:23 sin is breaking the law of God, why the Ten Commandments was inside the ark of the covenant and the mercy seat Exo25:16, 25 of God was placed on top of the Ten Commandments that the blood of animals in the law of Moses that was beside the ark Deut31:24-26, atoned for. The blood of animals could never take away sin Heb10:1-10 but the earthy temple shows what God does in His heavenly Temple Heb9:23-25 Heb8:1-5 where the ark of the Covenant is in heaven Rev 15:5 Rev11:19 still under His mercy seat, why removing a jot or tittle from the law of God Mat5:18-19 does not remove the law, it removes His mercy on what He covers Exo20:6 Pro28:13 which is not the spot we want to be come judgement day Heb10:26-30 why its best to let God be God to define things for us and we be His servant Isa56:6 It has never worked out well for one person to break the law of God in Scripture. When I read that passage carefully I do not actually see anything that contradicts what Jesus said. Abstaining from sexual immorality. Not defrauding your brother. Walking in sanctification. Loving one another. Working honestly. These are not new commandments invented by Paul. They flow directly from what Jesus taught and from the Ten Commandments themselves. So yes I agree with the content because the content aligns with Jesus.
But here is the honest and important distinction. I do not agree with it because Paul said it. I agree with it because it reflects what Jesus already taught. That is not a small difference. That is the entire point. Jesus said:
If ye love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15 KJV)
And:
He that hath my commandments and keepeth them he it is that loveth me. (John 14:21 KJV)
Everything in that passage from Thessalonians that is genuinely true is true because it aligns with the words and character of Christ. Not because an apostle said it. The test is always the same. Does it align with what Jesus taught? If yes it stands on that foundation. If no it falls regardless of who wrote it.
Paul himself acknowledged in that very passage that the commandments he gave came by the authority of the Lord Jesus. So even Paul is pointing you back to Jesus as the ultimate source and standard. Which is exactly where we have been pointing all along.
Lies Jesus did teach the fourth commandments and asked To keep them all. Paul kept the sabbath command, they all did, you are blind and twist scripture to fit your false doctrine. Jesus did keep the commandments perfectly, the right way as he instructed us by example and by magnifying these commandments. when will you listen.

Eze 20:16 because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
So when Jesus teaches is it lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath Mark3:4 , He told us what is doing evil and why it’s evil.
But it (the sabbath) was holy before Abraham was born.
It was holy before the nation of Israel was born.
It was Holy before sin entered the world.
It was not a levitical law.
It was set up and hallowed before salvation and any shadows or priestly ministry was needed.
God has never said, THE SABBATH IS NO LONGER HOLY.
Dont change what the Lord has NEVER changed. God is the only one that can remove what He made holy and He never did.

When a person dies a will can not be changed.
The new covenant was set up and ready before the death of Jesus.
After His death nothing in the New covenant could be changed.
The will or covenant was written before the death of Jesus.
It was finished.
I can find no reason in the life and teachings of Jesus to remove the Sabbath. No reason in all of the bible.
There are bible verses that show that the offerings and cerimonial laws would end at the death of Christ but nothing to say the 10 commandments were to change.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Micah 6:7 "Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil?". The answer lies in the Rev 13:8, "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world", whose death alone satisfies the claims of the law. Isaiah 53:5-6.

The ceremonial law was a system of "statutes and judgments" given to illustrate the plan of redemption Nehemiah 9:14.
It was distinct from the moral law of the Ten Commandments, which is eternal Psalm 119:89.
The Shadow and the Substance:
Isaiah describes the Messiah being "brought as a lamb to the slaughter" Isaiah 53:7. When the true Lamb of God died, the "handwriting of ordinances" was effectively nailed to the cross, as the shadow had finally reached the substance Colossians 2:14, 17.

Although a New Testament event, it fulfills the Old Testament sanctuary types: when Jesus died, the veil of the temple was rent in two Matthew 27:51, signifying that the earthly sacrificial service, which pointed to a "Redeemer to come," had met its fulfillment in the One who had now come and died.
By studying these prophecies, you see that the end of the ceremonial law was not an afterthought, but a glorious part of God's plan to bring us directly to the Saviour!
Nothing else was added or changed after this point. Show me please where Sunday worship was made holy or The 7th day sabbath was removed or made void.
