I don't know if this will get taken down but the reason why I'm posting this here is because we are singles here and without God we are totally alone unless we have family. My family is pretty much gone not to give a sob story but I'm very ill I have several things going on in my body none of them are fatal but they are only going to gradually get worse the deal is I'm new I'm a new Christian I think about 2 years I think it was 2024 see I don't even remember my birthday anyhow I've been so focused on my sicknesses and different issues that I haven't been focused on God. But I am starting to have devotionals in the mornings through the Psalms I even have a couple of devotional books based on the Psalms because I think about the only thing that I can really do for God right now is praise him and thank him for the situation that I'm in that is drawing me closer to him and he is all I want of course it's not easy being single especially when you're sick like this but it is what it is. So if you don't mind I would like to know about your walk with God and what are the things that he's done for you and has he turned your life around from what it was before. Thank you so much for stopping by

Hi @GuidedSoul,

I'm very sorry to hear about what you're going through.

If you'd like, you might consider copying your post and making additional threads in Family and Miscellaneous if you are wanting to reach more people. Several people on this forum are also suffering with chronic health conditions and/or caring for others who are going through this too.

I understand that feelings of being alone, though I do still have family. I don't know if there is a local church community or online one that you could try for additional (and perhaps in-person) support?

We also have live chats here on the forum -- there is almost always someone in the Bible study room and often there are people there talking about their current life challenges.

May God bless you in your journey and may He grant you comfort and, if He wills, healing.

I hope you find fellowship and support here. :)

Devotions - I have a devotional journal called 100 days of life-changing confidence . I don't write in it everyday, but I keep on with it when I get the time to reflect on what God has done for me, and is doing with me.

I went through a dark time care-giving my mother, she passed away in October. So I'm still recovering from that, it took an emotional toll and I'm just getting my life back together. God got me through, and others who prayed for me, when I couldn't pray. Or helped out or were kind when I needed assistance.

A friend invited me to her church last night, it was ..different. She'd joined the Greek Orthodox church and they had chanting, the incense, lighting candles...the icons. It was just ...different. I didn't feel much of a connection until the chanters were reciting the Lords prayer and the Psalms. And then I remembered, God had got David through a lot of turmoil and He was doing the same with me.
I wasn't au fait with all the bowing, and making the sign of the cross, but it was a reminder that God was everywhere and hadn't forgotten me. If some people find following that ancient path helps, then all power to them.

I've been so focused on my sicknesses and different issues that I haven't been focused on God

Hello Guidedsoul, I am sorry that you're going through all this by yourself. But I would say you are with the Lord and he heals in ways that one would not imagine not only the body the soul and the spirit. The Lord for me is the healer of my soul, my spirit. I used to be a sad person who always smile, I used to be very very sick, I needed healing and the Lord healed my spirit. I used to spend time praying seeking God's face and he answered me. Today I am joyful and contented though all the time sick no diagnosis yet. Many said it's psychological may be it is or was but God healed my spirit and this reduced the one of the body, I no longer panic or be anxious or break, I just live happy in Christ. Sincerely I was sad person who always smiled at others, today I am a happy person from inside out.

I don't want to go into detail if that's ok , for 30 years I have had I'll health , mostly relating to pain but I did have stage four breast cancer in 2013/14 . I still have bad pain every day that affects how I live my life . Over the years I've lost my employment my friends my cash my independence and my mobility has been restricted . Only God has got me through this . He alone has walked with me all the way everyday . Only He gets me out of bed in the morning and it's only because of his live and mercy that I'm still here and able to smile . God has saved my life and my sanity , only He can do that . I believe now , that God has been with me since I was a child , He knew all the horrible things that were coming my way in life and He decided to allow me to b aware of Him and He invited me to come to Him through Christ , because He took pity upon me . I didn't look for Him because of my hard circumstances , He was with me at the very begining , preserving my life from my dad who almost killed me when I was a child , my mum who wasn't at all interested in raising a child and from me myself . I didn't know how to live , how to feel , how to interact normally with people and I was easy pickings for unscrupulous people . I was numb and didn't care if I lived or died , that was right up to my late teens . Slowly I warmed up and by my mid twenties I was almost human and I wanted to b happy and know what life was about . I had always had a Bible and had dipped into it a bit but , it wasn't until I walked into a Bible exhibition in a local church hall that I really heard His voice . Things looked up , I joined a congregation and got a good job that I enjoyed . The job lasted a few years and then the health problems started . Because of them I was isolated , couldn't do the things other people do , couldn't b who everyone expected me to b and was used to me being . Friendships were lost , family shunned me , my congregation looked down on me because I was unemployed . Only God for me through all this , no human helped . In my early 30 's I met my hubby , he has problems too but his r mental . I have the brain he has the body , between the two of us we make up one whole person 😆😆😆 God is with me all day and has always been so .

I don't really like sitting around and yakking.
One of my bible ladies came around yesterday...unannounced, and I was in bed having an afternoon nap.
She came to visit or possibly check up on me. There's this prayer group they have at another ladies house every week but I haven't been for a long time as I'm too knackered to go in the afternoon. I have to drive ..plus school traffic...anyway.

Anyway to cut a long story short instead of sitting down having a cup of tea and yakking to God which is what ladies often do - this why they looove cafes I said let's take a walk and it was a lot more fun than sitting on our butts.

We went round the block in my street, which has a reserve, and when we got to the playground, I lay on the swing, and went on the flying fox.

We must go wherever the wind blows - that's the HS to you and me...and on our walk, someone was clearing out their house and there was a huge bag of crayons on the berm. And they were sort of brand new. My bible lady who goes to primary school to read with the children picked them up, it was like God sent them...!
