That's the only ten commandments defined by Scripture in the OT.If you define the ten commandments as the commandments that YHWH gave to Israel (Exodus 24).
The commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ in the NT are not all defined by that of the old.
Ok. Don't read of the LORD ever giving commandments to anyone but His own people, beginning with Abraham. Then the ten commandments was the codified law given to Israel and not to Egypt.
Ok.Egypt was never under the Mosaic law.
Not in Egypt. The Jews were in a blood covenant to obey the ten commandments (Exodus 24).
No difference at all. Neither were the Hebrew Israelites.Egypt was not in a blood covenant to obey the ten commandments, big difference here.
Not without conversion to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with the covenant and law of Moses. The Gentiles were never under even one letter of the law and certainly not in a blood covenant,
to obey the law.
The first convert recorded among the nations, was Rahab the harlot. Who also is honored as one of the two examples of being justified with God by their works of faith. The other being Abraham.
A forerunner to any people of any nation converting to God by Jesus Christ, and being justified by works of faith of Abraham, and of his daughter Rahab.
Rom 4:16
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Rom 4:12
And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
False ideology.Sin to a Gentile is not defined by the law but by the deeds of the flesh (Galatians 5).
1Jo 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
All sin is defined by the law of God, and all sinners are judged by transgressing His law.
All unrighteous works of the flesh are defined as transgressions of the law of Christ.
Gal 5:19
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness...drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which are doing such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Whosever is doing any such thing, is the unrighteous not inheriting the kingdom of God. Whether Jew having law-alone, or Christian having faith-alone, or unbeliever having neither law nor faith at all.
I don't. Even if someone is a Sabbath keeper by law, whether Jew or Christian, they're still not keeping the 10 commandments by law of Moses, which is old and passed away.Don't ever say you obey the ten commandments.
Only those keeping the commandments of the Lord Jesus given to His apostles, are keeping the NT law of Christ.
Act 1:1
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
True.1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.
And if we sin and repent not, He is faithful and righteous to judge us for our sins, and to condemn us with all unrighteousness.
Rom 2:3
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
Rom 2:9
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Hellene; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Hellene:...For there is no respect of persons with God.
Anyone trusting in law-alone or faith-alone not to be judged by unrighteous deeds of the flesh, is deceiving themselves:
2Th 2:10
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
