He is responsible for futurism as it pertains to natural Israel. He's not responsible for it's survival, though, because it didn't exist in Christianity from the 1st century to the 19th century. He is responsible for its infiltration into Christian thought.
Idk about that; with respect to futurism in general; the idea that the catholic pope was the antichrist goes back pretty far- whether or not that's an invention, it's definitely not a modern one.

I have no doubt that when the modern state of Israel came into being, a lot of people started to rethink their eschatological frameworks....
.... and after cursory internet research, you can find that this idea that Jews would be returned to their homeland started even before that... even the Puritans in colonial America had this idea- and the idea that they would be converted to christianity was part of their eschatology.

So all that the "dual covenant" people did was take an existing eschatological framework and erroneously re-validate the old covenant for the Jews, as if that was a viable righteous path for them.... which is obviously wrong.

To a short extent, it seems to me that Darby was right about SOME things; it's not neccesarily bad that the Jews have a homeland whether they are converted or not. Thinking back to Nazi Germany... why did they do what they did? Because they were saturday-morning-cartoon level villains and just wanted to mass murder for the fun of it? Not really. Everybody thinks of them that way; but, not really. They didn't want zionists scheming against them inside their own borders... which makes sense- the fact they had a problem with that was not the problem- their genocidal solution to the problem was the problem.

The problem is too few people actually know the Bible. God told the Jews if they did certain things He would punish them, it is very specific as to how many years the would be punished and how many years they would be kicked off the land. It is like a parent sending a kid to his room. However, if you do the math that punishment ended in 1948.

Jesus did not come to destroy the old covenant, He came to fulfill it. He was the Passover lamb, He was our burnt offering, He was our sin offering and our trespass offering. The Jews were in a time out, now they are back to the land, they are back to Jerusalem, they have restarted the priesthood, they have raised the tabernacle of David. What still remains is for them to look on Him whom they have pierced and mourn for Him as an only son.

You'll get some pushback on this assertion, or at least some questions for a couple reasons:

1) Christrosefromthedead has a point about James' reference to the Tabernacle of David.
2)Israel cannot do the "Tabernacel of David" without "David"; or IOW a Christian; because David was a stand-in for the "priest after the order of Melchizedek".

So, my curiosity is; are Christians participating in this thing or not?

No, of course not, why would we participate in that?

I have no idea what God is doing with the Christians in Israel. I know people that have gone there and talked to the Christians there; but they weren't able to glean any information.

I'd like to see the math. Pretty sure it doesn't add up, so to speak

When did this "timeout" begin? That's really one of the silliest things I've heard.

I don't think so. I'm sure Levites officiated. It was called the tabernacle of David because he erected it on Zion in the city of David, rather than Shiloh. Same way we speak of Solomon's temple

We need to get these oppressed Iranian citizens inspired.....

Jdg 9:52
And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

Jdg 9:53
And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
Why don't you head over to Iran, cv5, and share with the oppressed Iranian citizens some of your "prophecies"? Surely if these "prophecies" are true, that could inspire them? It would also show everyone that you are not calling for others to do that which you are not prepared to do yourself.

They already are inspired, are you watching Tousi TV or not? You don't have to worry about inspiring them, they lived under the tyranny of the IRGC for years, no the ones you need to worry about are fickle and feckless Americans. They are always seeking some way to justify being chickens.

From his post, cv5 clearly wants someone to inspire them some more. Who better to do the task than he who believes in it?

I'm sure this war in Iran would quickly be resolved if all of those who believed in it funded it and went to fight in it - including Trump, Netanyahu and even some warmongers in this thread. If the IRGC is defeated, the world would be a better place. If Trump, Netanyahu and the other warmongers are defeated - the world will still be a better place.

So perhaps less about chickens, and more about putting words into actions (i.e. one's own actions, and not the actions of somebody else on one's account).

Jesus did not come to destroy the old covenant, He came to fulfill it.

He made it obsolete by fulfilling it.

The end, over, finito!

Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant, making the first one obsolete (Hebrews 8:6-13).

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
Hebrews 10:1

Absolutely.

John 19:30 (NIV) When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

"tetelestai (τετέλεσται) is the Greek word for "It is finished," spoken by Jesus as his final word on the cross.

Meaning: Derived from teleō (to finish/complete), it signifies that an action is fully completed, bringing something to its intended end.

"Paid in Full": In ancient contexts, this term was written on receipts or documents to mean a debt has been paid completely. In this context, it signifies that the penalty for sin (the "debt" to God) is totally canceled by Jesus’ sacrifice.

"It is Finished": It is a cry of victory showing that the prophecy, redemption work, and the Old Covenant's sacrificial system were perfectly fulfilled.

Significance of Tense: Tetelestai is in the perfect tense in Greek, indicating that the action was completed in the past but has a lasting effect in the present and into the future.

Control over Death: John 19:30 notes that right after saying this, Jesus "bowed his head and gave up his spirit," reinforcing that He was in control of his sacrifice."
