Well, the way I see it, Antiochus IV was the type that the end time son of perdition anti-type will emulate.
Furthermore, in Matt 24, Jesus is speaking to Jews just outside the Temple precinct. There is no doubt that He is describing what they are just then looking at and commenting on!
And BOTH the Greek and Hebrew terms match perfectly. A particular building (Temple) in a particular location (Jerusalem).
This idea that the old Tabernacle of David in Hebron is correct is seriously flawed.
Tabernacle of David (Amos)
Hebrew:
sukkah = temporary shelter
Connotation: dynasty / kingdom / restoration

If we focus carefully on
the language (Hebrew + Greek) and the
specific passages, the case that the
abomination of desolation occurs in a
literal, physical Temple in Jerusalem rests heavily on how “holy place” is used.
1. Daniel: the original prophecy (Hebrew)
Daniel 9:27
- Written in Hebrew (with some Aramaic sections nearby).
- Key idea: sacrifices stop → requires a functioning Temple system.
- Implication: altar + priesthood + location = Temple in Jerusalem.
Daniel 11:31
- Hebrew phrase: “miqdash” (מִקְדָּשׁ) = sanctuary, holy place.
- This word is consistently used for:
- The Tabernacle (Exodus)
- The Temple in Jerusalem

Not symbolic language—this is the
actual sacred complex.
Daniel 12:11
Again:
- Requires daily sacrifice
- Requires designated sacred location

These Daniel passages strongly anchor the prophecy in a
Temple setting.
