The Investigative Judgement
We all stand before the Judgement seat of Christ.
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
On the day of judgment we will all give account.
Paul talked of future judgement
Judgement to come..
Act 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, ...
Ecc 12:13-14
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
God will bring every work....
3 phases ...
Phase 1.
Dan 7:9-11
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Jesus is set to Judge and the books are opened at the time.
This is future from Paul's day but before the second coming.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
So Jesus judges every case before He returns. (The time I'll come back to).
Phase 2
After Jesus returns .... Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
The saved will judge the unsaved for the 1000 year reign with Christ. Even the unsaved angels.
1Co 6:2-3
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
Phase 3
At the end of the millenium ...
Rev 20:11-12
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
If your not found in the book of life....
Rev 20:14-15
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The final judgment is given to those that are not saved. Justice is served and sin will not rise again.
Phase 1 is the most important because it is when Jesus decides who is lost and who is saved.
We He comes, He knows who is saved, who He is going to resurrect and who are save that are living.
Phase 1 is the Investigative Judgement..
Look at Daniel 7:9,10.
Also Rev 14:6,7
The Judgment Transpires before the Second Coming
“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—
saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His
judgment has come [while the gospel is being preached]; and worship Him who
made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."”
Jesus gives the Reward when He comes
If Jesus brings the reward when He comes again then he must have determined the reward before He comes. This means people do not receive the reward when they die but rather when Jesus comes.
Matthew 16:27
“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”
Revelation 22:12
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one
according to his work.”
I'll start a new post about the phase 1 of the judgement .....
