He was talking to Israel, not to you or me.

Today, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is his sign of sanctification.

He is talking about the 144,000 from the twelve tribes.

Israel.

John is not talking about obeying the Ten Commandments.

Israel.

Spiritually blind leading the blind and very good at what they do.

Resting on the Seventh Day isn't a moral act.

Every country has their own laws. Do you live in Israel?

The Law is spiritual, which means that it came directly from God.
Are you claiming doing what God deems as doing righteousness not moral but doing what He deems as evil is?

The Ten Commandments was written by the Holy Spirit of Truth Exo31:18 it came directly from God, spoken by God written by God. He didn't start making righteousness until the NC, this is sadly a deception, His righteousness is everlasting Psa 119:142 and His moral standard of righteousness is too Psa 119:172 Isa56:1-2 its the foundation of His Throne Psa89:14

The only covenant that God remembers our sins no more is with Israel

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 11None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. 12;For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
Right. And Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection is the basis for our forgiveness and stands as a fulfillment of Hebrews 8:12. Nonetheless, God is writing his law on the hearts of the house of Israel, and it isn't just the Ten Commandments but it is the entire Law.
We enter this covenant not by nationality but by faith and receive all of the promises that came through the bloodline of Abraham, including the Blessing God gives on His Sabbath Exo20:11 and blesses the man who keeps it Isa56:2 that no man can take away what God blessed Num23:20 they will sadly just forfeit their own Psa37:22
This is totally false. The promises of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29
Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29;And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

So the same promises made through Abraham we receive through faith.
True, but Jeremiah 31 is NOT a promise made through Abraham.

we have also to remember that if they refuse the words of Christ we are to leave them alone, there is a limit on how many tries and persistance in the message if it is not received

Mat 10:13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

Mat 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Mat 10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

That is not even in the Bible. This is what was really said:

9 And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. 3And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics4And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” 6And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Has Jesus given you the power to heal diseases and authority over demons? I'm gonna say no

What journey are you on? You are in a public forum. This is a Christian forum. The owner is Christian which does not mean SDA or Jesus only, so why don't you shake the dust off your keyboard and move along?

You are not Jesus and you do not believe all He said.

Jesus also said this:

26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.”

27Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28This is My blood of the covenant,e which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

30And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

You do not acknowledge that Jesus stated His blood is the blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sin.

The 10 commandments are not the New Covenant and they represent the blood of animals.

Have you received forgivenss of your sins from animals?

You really do not know scripture very well yet here you are, with no fear because of your ignorance and giant lack of humility, comparing actual believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, with those who refuse Him.

BUT!!! That is YOU! YOU refuse Him and substitute His blood for commandments.

I really do start to wonder if you even believe as you say you do. You sound more and more like a person sent to mock Christianity and construe false misrepresentations of scripture. A person who is a true believer in Jesus will never deny His blood. Demons however, since you brought them up, are terrified of the blood of Jesus. You stay as far away from it as to deny it. You do not represent Jesus; you are into something not of God.

Every time I have drawn attention to the fact Jesus Himself stated HIS blood is the covenant, you totally ingore it, change the subject and move along. Who are you really?

Right. And Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection is the basis for our forgiveness and stands as a fulfillment of Hebrews 8:12.
This is part of Heb8:10 we can't pick out the blessings and delete the conditions- I guess we can but it will sadly only leave people in a place they don't want to be when Jesus returns Mat7:23 Luke6:46-48 Heb 10:26-30
Nonetheless, God is writing his law on the hearts of the house of Israel, and it isn't just the Ten Commandments but it is the entire Law.
Its the laws that are under His mercy seat that His blood atones for, only one law Exo25:21 Rev11:18-19- the one God personally wrote and spoke Exo31:18 Deut4:13 Exo20:6 Exo20:1-17
This is totally false. The promises of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29
They are conditional, not everyone who says LORD LORD will be saved, Jesus was plain about that, why so many promises are condition. Mat 7:21-23

The blessings have always been conditional. Otherwise no need for separation between man and God.
True, but Jeremiah 31 is NOT a promise made through Abraham.
Its the exact promise made to the exact people

Jer 31:31“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Israel has always represented God's people. Not just by nationality Rom 9:6 but by faith Gal3:26-29

I'm claiming that Resting on the seventh day of the week is not a universal moral imperative. It was a covenant sign given uniquely to Israel under the Mosaic covenant. Therefore:

  • Israelites were morally obligated to keep it because God commanded it to them.
  • Gentiles are not morally or legally obligated to keep that specific practice.
  • Disobeying God is always immoral, but God never commanded Gentiles to keep the seventh‑day Sabbath.

Prove that Jeremiah is speaking metaphorically.

Be careful

Your judging the heart. This is only something God can do.

You quote verses above that state that eternal life is "knowing God and Jesus"

I agree "knowing Jesus is essential".

But do we know Him and Love Him while we are practicing iniquity? Sinning?

The place were we differ is in our definition of sin.

I see the 10 commandments as a way of seeing what sin is. So I can by grace follow the example Jesus gave and obey the 10 commandments. Not to be save but because I love and know my saviour.
You must be kidding me. You SDA legalists sit in judgement on born again believers who know Christ, know God's word and who walk in the Spirit.

Your definition of sin is wrong. You should try studying the New Testament for a change. My Bible tells me:
"But the one who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that is not from faith is sin." Romans 14:23

You and your ilk do not need faith. You have your version of Christianity nicely packaged up in 10 laws. The law was put in charge of me to lead me to Christ. It's done its job. I'm born again and I have eternal life right now.

You don't know that.
The Scriptures state it plainly.
Prove that Jeremiah is speaking metaphorically.
Regarding Israel? Its the exact covenant prophesied in Heb8:10 to the exact people.

If Israel was only literal God would have said Adam in these verses

Exo 4:22 Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says the LORD: "Israel is My son, My firstborn.
Hos 11:1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.

  • Israelites were morally obligated to keep it because God commanded it to them.
  • Gentiles are not morally or legally obligated to keep that specific practice.
  • Disobeying God is always immoral, but God never commanded Gentiles to keep the seventh‑day Sabbath.
The Sabbath started at Creation thus saith the LORD Exo20:11 before Israel, before Moses, before Jew.

The Sabbath is part of God's commandments Exo20:6 that God's people keep until the end of time Rev14:12 because they trust God and live by His every word Mat4:4 not traditions of man over His commandments Mat15:3014 Mark7:7-13

Something has been overlooked in this thread that totally blows the commandment lies out of the water.

Even before the commandments were given, the Israelites were saved by blood. No commandment or ordinance or good behavior.

The blood of a lamb was placed on the lintel of Hebrew homes to tell the angel of death that the people in that home belonged to God! BLOOD was salvation.

And what sacrifice was acceptable to God for the temporary putting aside of sin after the commandments?

Again BLOOD had to be shed!

And what did Jesus say instigated the New Covenant? HIS BLOOD. 27Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

And the grand finale?

10And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. 12Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”

What overcomes the devil? THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB.

So the op continues on with his false teaching and now is telling actual believers that we are the ones Jesus told His disciples to disgard. Do you see it? The complete twisting of scripture and the lies about the commandments and the total disregard for what Jesus said about His own blood while this same individual says he only obeys what Jesus says.

It is all a lie. It is a farce and is mocking God.

It is the blood of Jesus shed on the cross that the devil is afraid of. This blood is salvation through the sinless only begotten Son of God. From before any commandments right through to the book of Revelation, the revelation of John the disciple of Jesus on the island of Patmos.

God is good. He is faithful and He answers prayer. This truth about Christ's blood has been made clear to me and I see the ongoing dismissal of Jesus words while people (and I have myself) continue to argue with someone who has managed to mock God's salvation and is now saying that we are under judgement for not listening to his words. Who is he? He certainly does not represent the Son of God or salvation

I pray this sinks in and gives understanding as to what is really going on here.

I think we are confusing the solution with the problem. Blood had to be shed for sin, sin is the breaking the law of God 1John3:4 James 2:10-12

In the OT it was the blood of animals- but that could never take away sins Heb10:1-20 why Jesus has to come and be our great Sacrifice. His blood can take away sins, when we confess and repent 1 John1:9 Pro28:13 which means a change of heart and mind. Not continuing in that same path of sin where there remains no more sacrifice for sins.

“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins
but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries
Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses
Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.”
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” — Hebrews 10:26–31 (NKJV)

William Miller was Bible studier studying prophesies. He came to a conclusion and was wrong. There were many besides him who came to the same wrong conclusion.
But they call William Miller a prophet and that is incorrect.

Ellen White altered Miller's analysis and inserted "Jesus entered the heavenly sanctuary".

Confirming that William Miller was actually correct but got the destination wrong.

That analysis by William Miller and the vision of Ellen White pivots on just one verse in Daniel.

No one but Ellen White knows whether that is true or not.

Talk about the astronomical odds associated in believing Ellen White was correct.

Given virtually the entire Christian world is basically marked by Satan for going to church on Sunday.

Has there been anyone in Christian history that has condemned the entire Christian world?

1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Wrong commandments, wrong covenant, a false accusation.

The former covenant was with Israel only and not with the Gentile nations.

The scripture is very clear on that distinction.

Yet, you follow Ellen White's teaching to the letter.

If Ellen White is wrong then you burn and make no mistake about that.

Do you understand the significance of what you are saying?

You are strongly disagreeing and condemning the entire Christian world because of Ellen White.

Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary was her vision and that's not in the scripture.

Who? I never heard anyone call Miller a prophet.
Yes, William Miller was widely regarded as a false prophet, particularly after the failure of his prediction that Jesus Christ would return around 1844, an event known as the Great Disappointment. His failed predictions led to widespread criticism and the splintering of his followers. (Google.Brittannica)

Which in turn inspired Ellen Whites vision which confirmed William Miller was correct, but got the
destination wrong.

When Jesus failed to do what the disciples expected, do you say the disciples were all false witnesses..
Because they got the event wrong do you disregard everything they had to say after. No.

They did get things mixed up and expected Jesus to become king at that time. Do you still listen to the disciples that wrote the books in the bible?

They got it wrong but God still used them. 🙏

The point we differ on is what laws are being talked about in the bible, mostly the NT.

Some believe the laws are all one group of commandments and all the laws are removed in Christ.

We believe the laws of God are unchanged but the laws of ordinance are removed. The Shadow laws are nailed to the cross but the laws that define sin are still in place.

Knowing which law is which makes all the difference.

Please define which laws or commandments are talked about in Rev 12:17, 14:12, 22:14.
