Have you noticed no months or days are included with one's birth or death??
I doubt every one of them died exactly a day before their birth date so they were only going by the years.

Obviously the days and months were not important.

And what benefit would it have to understand the Bible in a certain area.

The Bible generally does not mention the specific day and month of births or deaths for individuals focusing instead on theological significance rather than historical chronology.

Exact dates of death are rarely mentioned, though some scholars associate Jesus' death with the Passover (Nissan 15).

So there is no missing piece in Genesis 5 for it is not important to tell us.

If it did tell us what benefit would it have.

I was missing a piece of cherry pie from the fridge.

Now I would like to know the day and hour that happened for then I can understand better why it was taken.

It don't matter.

Semms like the Creator had a calendar!
And where does the Creator give such evidence? I cannot think of any culture that does not recognize the difference between day and night, but that is hardly a calendar.

How about--do you see the connection between Adam being made on the sixth day with the Lord taking animals and making clothes for Adam and Eve performing the first blood sacrifice and the Lord being the final blood sacrifice on the sixth day of the week

If you read it correctly the first 3 words of Genesis shows that God created time.
Now if you add the heavens and earth you have 3 main things that are needed for anything to exist.
Time....space....and ...matter.
Anything that had a beginning has a end. GOD IS EVERLASTING...no beginning no end.

The saying a thousand years is a day to God comes from Genesis....the Lord siad to Adam in that day you shall surly die when he ate the forbidden fruit. Check out how long Adam lived.

Time is fixed in creation itself thats his calendar its important to God. ...pslams tells us to count our days.

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

While I agree with your conclusion, "In the beginning" signifies the point where time came into existence; however, if the eternal God created the heaven and the earth, then wouldn't the heaven and the earth be eternal since God had created them? After all. a good tree bringing forth good fruit, so wouldn't the eternal bring forth the eternal?

The one true God is "eternal" which infers by implication the nature of a life form which has always existed, being with a beginning and in whom there is no variableness nor shades of turning; I know it might sound trivial but anything "from everlasting" means it came forth from the eternal which as you said in your quote has an end if it is not eternal, but it is like comparing apples to pineapples since only one of them comes from a tree, even if people believe they both do.

Thanks for the question friend. In Genesis God saw all that he created was good...very good. Imo many see this as a good creation
And some even use the term perfect instead of good. I believe he was referring to good as for his purpose not the creation itself.
As we know sin found its way in the garden with our first parents which caused God to curse his creation, thorn and thistle.
So the short answer is no. The earth and heavens are not eternal.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Back to the original question concerning no months or days?

Have you considered these generations were all born and died on the same day of the year and being the reason for no months or days?

Sorry for the derailment....I think time was kept according to God's feast days as I have a thread about that.
God seems to establish days and nights but doesn't seem to compress them into months or weeks.
That's why the genealogy is in days lived on earth.
Remember the firmament hasn't fallen yet so man aged differently.

Sorry about interjecting my off topic question.
Have you considered these generations were all born and died on the same day of the year and being the reason for no months or days?
As in a person born on 7th day of the first month died on the 7th day of the first month, or a person born on Tuesday died on a tuesday?

As in a person created on Passover, had a generational child on Passover and died also on Passover.

Methuseleh, the longest living man died in year 1656 from creation, the same year as the flood, and also the same year Noah turned 600 years old. The revolution of the year is Passover, for births, birthdays, and deaths of the qualifying generational patriarchs from Adam to Christ.

The genealogy spells out the gospel according to the names it listed if that is what you are talking about.

If you are speaking of the names starting in Genesis 5, my answer is yes or 77 names listed in Gospel of Luke 3:23-38
