Our faith is not a passive faith. God is not a genie, but we are called to be diligent and do our part.
I learned this from an Orthodox Priest after a year of bad theology mostly from protestants and "let go and let God theology."
"Pray as if everything depends on God, work as if everything depends on you." is what I have learned.

Letting go, is letting go of the results, not the effort, not the diligence, not the work. It has served me well.
I truly love that “pray as if everything depends on God, work as if everything depends on you” theology.

I think in today’s world, that has to be shared a lot more often, and I’m really glad you do so @jacko . I think this might be the second or third time I've seen you share that. It really is a burden on the rest of society for those that don't share that theology.

Proverbs 6:6–9 (ESV)
“Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.
Without having any chief, officer, or ruler,
she prepares her bread in summer
and gathers her food in harvest.
How long will you lie there, O sluggard?
When will you arise from your sleep?”

Proverbs 6:9–11 (ESV)
“How long will you lie there, O sluggard?
When will you arise from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest,
and poverty will come upon you like a robber,
and want like an armed man.”

Put in the effort, 100% look to God and He can and will multiply like the fish and bread and meet your needs. Many times I pray the ending of Psalm 90 for the Lord to establish the work of my hands.

Here is Psalm 90 (KJV):

1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

There's a time for everything.... A time for working at it as if it depended on you, and a time for leaving it to God. Both are valid and essential with a correct time for their implementation... May God bless us all with the wisdom to know when.

I am in agreement with you on this. I believe, that at most times and situations, that God helps those that help themselves.

When Peter was tired of fishing...

Jesus could have commanded the fish to jump in the boat, instead he instructed Peter to put down the nets again and keep fishing. Note the verb/action/doing/work."

"But at your word, I will let down the nets". Too many examples to post them all, but here is one of my favorites. Another is wedding at Cana... Action/Verb... Go fill these jars with water.

Luke 5:1-15 ESV

1On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, 2and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” 6And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking
