Just curious...for the men that disagree with tattooing based on this one scripture, do you also follow Leviticus 19:27?
"You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard."

If you dont have a beard, why not? This verse sounds like you should. 🤔

Also, Leviticus 19:28 says not to cut or mark for the dead. Does that mean if it's not gotten for the dead its okay?

All or nothing.

Yes but not like intentionally trying to follow it for any strict reason like you might assume. It's either clean shaven or let it grow naturally.
Not to derail but wouldn't any shaving defy the command to not "disfigure the edges of the beard"? 🤔

That is, if we're following OT rules...

No, it's about basically styling the beard. Other beard ordinances to consider like the Nazirite ordinances state the hair and beard is to either be totally shaven with a razor or let to grow freely. Not that I am claiming the Nazirite Vow either, but those verses merely support this approach. You could maybe it be too abstract but consider one shears a sheep from time to time, the same is true even if your beard can actually regrow pretty fast still just as a matter of basic like life.

Don't forget the wooden sheath. They were commanded to carry a sword with a wooden sheath, so they could use the wooden sheath to scoop out a hole they could poop in.

Or a pooper scooper.

Anyway, not sure why you posting about tattoos here. If you really want one, shouldn't you be discussing this with your tattoo artist? Your 'Christian' tattoo artist? They're the ones putting the tattoo on you.

Jesus had marks on His hands. Where the nails went, like literally he had Holes in his hands.

I have several tattoos. And I do not find it sinful, this is not the context of this question.

For a long time, I have sought to find the Hebrew word for heretic. Two that pop up are goyim(gentile) and minim... i found a third but can't recall it at the moment. But the third is the best looking one.

Anyway I want to tattoo in gothic style Hebrew letters "Heretic" over laid with a christian cross across my back between the shoulders.

As a christian, I would assume the belief is heretical to Judaism.

What are your thoughts on this if you saw this tattoo?
For me, when I was not able to read the word (gothic, Hebrew script) I would assume it was like a number of bikers I've known with tattoos that incorporated a cross, but not with anything to do with Jesus or God.

I'd figure it was some wreckless art appropriating a Christian symbol.

Much love!

probably however hebrew letters are fairly well recognized as Hebrew even if they are able to read them. Also, as someone pointed out : Who would actually see a tattoo like this on a 58-yr old man's back who isn't in perfect shape? Doctor, significant other family etc...?... Not too many would see it.

I will add this to the equation. I don't know if this is true or not. Tattoos remain in some way on your resurrected body. Even if not blatant. In some way the tattoo will leave a permanent mark on you in the afterlife. This does play a part in why i want this last tattoo as well as why i have some of the other ones. I would actually like to see Jesus's response to this face to face to see if he find it humorous.

Anyway I want to tattoo in...

Among other "bad news," a tat is a blood-letting ritual that gives devils (aka demons) an open door. I am involved in a ministry of deliverance and tats are classic access points (pun intended) for unclean spirits. If you are wise in the Lord, you will not get any tat. If you don't like being told what the word of God says on the issue (there is much more), then you will ignore or rationalize everything that does not pander to your fleshly desire. You have been warned.

Um ok
I wouldn't be interested and Jesus probably doesn't really care about what you got on your skin. I mean he's never said anything about my bruises and moles and scars.

Jewish people were marked with tattoos for the Holocaust, they had numbers. like cattle.

Anyway...Unless you post a picture of it here, we not really gonna see it.

Bloodletting ritual? Where did you get that junk?

Do you even know what a tattoo is? Circumstantial evidence indicates you don't. Bloodletting ritual?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting a tattoo myself. But let's not go overboard arguing against it here.
