But people stole the process from wasps. Paper is made much the same way today as wasps have made it for centries.
Yeah, I walk right through a big silk net whenever a stupid spider chooses to string one right across the flipping garage door.
Only reason I don't find and squish him is, he catches a lot of mosquitoes with all that silk. Anything that catches mosquitoes, I can't be mad at.
Not to be picky, but it was a worm, the larva of a moth, that made the fiber used to make silk.
It was a wasp that created the method of building using clay and water.
That's where WE get silk. The spider uses something a bit tougher. But it is still silk.
In fact spider silk is so tough that we would make bulletproof vests out of it, if we could. But nobody has figured out how to make harvesting real spider silk commercially viable.
Or sting.
Besides, didn't Jesus say we would stomp on snakes and scorpions. Never said anything about wasps.
Right after reading this I go to facebook and one of the first things I see is an ad for See's Candies. I've never seen an ad for them on facebook before.Hey Everyone,

This thread is meant to be a bit of an informal poll of things people have tried solely because of online influence -- and how it's turned out.
My own list includes:
* The discovery of the Drury line of hotels, which offer not only a free breakfast, but also a free dinner in the evening for pretty much the same price as any other hotels in the area. I was able to stay at one and will now always look to see if they have any in the areas I'll be visiting.
* @Tall_Timbers has raved about See's Candy so much, I've decided I simply MUST try them and am waiting for an opportunity... I've found a store about half an hour away, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to snag any bargains after Easter!
* A long time ago, our dear friend @Mem posted pictures of these adorable, warmable, stuffies that I have been eyeing them ever since, but just haven't taken the plunge yet:

* I must add that I am personally very thankful for online reviews. There are several things I've wanted to try or visit, but a plethora of bad reviews probably saved me a ton of wasted time, money, and heartache.

In a time when there are so many negatives about social media and the internet, I'd like to think that maybe there are some positives out there, too.
The only thing I ever bought of Facebook back in the day when I used to use it, was this Bible Journal package thing, It was from the US when Bible Journalling was the rage, but it turned out it was only this digital thing and not even real, like you had to print everything off yourself and there was an online group you could join, and then they kept asking for more money...and I was like, I can't do this.
I can read the Bible I already have myself and write stuff down in a notebook that's only 15 cents. I don't need to colour it in and make pretty pictures in it, and then decorate it with leaves in the margins. Who got time to do all that?

Well, I looked online for a book as I thought I would buy a copy it as got from the library, and haven't had time to read it all.
I don't use Amazon, I thought I'd buy it from a local chain bookshop but they didn't have any copies left in stock as all sold out.
Then I thought well I can use BookHub as it will tell me where to get from independent bookshops.
So I find there's one not too far that I can get from, and they do online deliveries, but it's free to pick up/click and collect so I'm doing that.
I'm also buying a book nook at they are so cute, and a friend has done one so I know what they are like.
Book nooks are so cool!!! Can get from Spotlight or Kmart, but they don't always have them all in stock or on special, so that's when you need to shop around a bit.
Otherwise I don't really buy things online but I think it's handy for things like Uber or pizza delivery.

I bought tickets to an aquarium online (Ticket goes on your phone wallet) and it was cheaper than at the door.
Tickets to a show, also online though there is a booking fee.

I bought - a few window stickers/decals jelly fish, turtle and aquarium scenes for the shower
Hooks to hang my bag on at restaurant tables
A chrome fish to stick on my car.
I got free shipping plus package won't be heavy as its only light stuff. I could scour the $2 shops for the same things but, it was actually quite fun to type in what I want and see what comes up and pay and then wait for delivery.
BTW I picked up my book and book nook from the Book Hero. I am thinking of applying to work there, it will be so much fun.

I mean it's nice to know they are tracking it so it doesn't get lost, but I wondered where exactly are they sending it from. Australia?
Is there one giant warehouse somewhere, or are they picking it from several different Temu warehouses, and consolidating my orders?
I get free shipping, but only after I've spend $35.
If I don't receive it by May 29, they are going to give it to me free, I think but I don't know how they'll return my money. Also, I wonder what happens when I get it, and they pick the wrong thing, or it wasn't what I expected, how would I return it.
Sometimes its quicker to just go to the store. I mean there are dozens and dozens of $2 in my town. If you go to my local mall, there's at least 4 of them on the ground floor, and there's 2 on the main street, and there's 3 just up the road. They are as common as dairies. This better be worth it!
