I don't know how to continue this discussion. It's elementary to me that everyone in Christ, from Adam to the last living stone in the temple, will return with him when he comes. IMO that's the basic meaning of the verse that says the angels will gather his elect from one end of heaven to the other when he returns

I agree with your elementary statement, but normally a discussion discusses the OP, so that is my suggestion for continuing.
If you think Matt. 24:31 is relevant to the OP, then please say so/how instead of asking a question you refuse to answer:
What does this mean: When Christ returns he brings the 12 tribes with him?
Thanks.

It means that the elect of the 12 tribes are included in the sum total of the elect that Christ brings with him at his return. That includes the resurrected dead who believed in him and those alive at his return who believe in him.

I agree, but how does this connect with Rev. 19?

Rev 19 begins with the rejoicing in heaven at the destruction of the great whore and at the arrival of the marriage of the lamb. So the connection is the resurrected bride that is now with her husband, who return to earth together where they vanquish the last enemies.

They were made one again at Pentecost.

They were resurrected at Pentecost? There is definitely a difference between the time of the Gentile and the time of the Jew, according to Paul.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

When the two kingdoms become one David will be their King.

We can spiritualize everything, and by doing that we can make most things fit our own narrative.

You still did not clearly state what I think you want to affirm: The 24 elders cited several times including Rev. 4:4, 11:16 & 19:4
represent the 12 tribes of Israel in Rev. 7:4-8 & 14:1 plus the 12 apostles of Christ cited in Rev. 21:14, so the bride of Christ cited
in Rev. 19:7 includes both OT & NT believers.
I agree.

I didn't say they were resurrected. Neither does the Ezekiel prophecy. Judah and Israel were joined together as one nation under one lord at Pentecost. That is undeniable unless you simply don't believe what is explicitly written, ie, that Israel and Judah were joined together then in one body that Peter called God's holy nation.

I do not know what the 24 elders are other than maybe something to do with the 24 courses of priests under the law. The body of Christ is definitely composed of OT and NT believers.

Where are we now? What is to come?
I believe we’re waiting for Jesus to return. Could be tomorrow or a thousand more years . I do t believe anyone is ever going To figure out the timing But in the doctrine I believe we’re waiting for Jesus to return raise the dead and gather together all people for judgement.

Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. You believe they they came up out of their graves at Pentecost?

That's not the 2 sticks prophecy. The valley of dry bones is the resurrection

Could the Millennial Kingdom already have happened, and we are in Rev 20:7?
One characteristic of the millennial kingdom is that every nation has a representative who travels to Jerusalem to participate in the "Feast of Tabernacles," every year.

When that is happening, you will be in the millennium.

I did make an error in that post when I stated, "The only ones left on the earth are the dead who were not written in the book of life." I should have stated "The only ones left on the earth are the dead in the ground."
I mostly skimmed to get an idea of the flow of discussion and basically agree with the conclusions you offered in post #128 but this #129 slips by me. Is it your opinion that the earth is left desolate of humanity during the millennium?

Short answer, yes. After the harvest of the wheat and the tares who is left? If the remnant is killed who is left? There is a group who will be reigning with Christ, and they will be the redeemed, and will no longer be having children. Those of the resurrection that occurs after the thousand years will have children, but they will be given to them.

Isa 49:21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

Just an opinion.

Thanks for offering your opinion in the spirit as peer.

The wheat is gathered into the barn and tares are bundled up for the furnace, and while both suggest a designated gathering, I've yet to form a definite interpretation of the exact location of each group's respective 'storage.'

Your view implies a supposition of the traditional understanding of the rapture sans the remnant which are left behind, but I expected to follow the reading of your comment, "the only ones left on the earth are the dead in the ground," to say, "the only ones left on the earth are the resurrected (and those that have put on immortality)."

If so, that scenario would then answer your question, "If the remnant is killed who is left?" as "Those that have put on immortality," as the only ones killed are those that remain mortal at His coming, having not been clothed with the incorruptible. After all, this is exactly how the AOD is destroyed, with the brightness of His coming, which would reflect the veracity that no one can see God and live (as, indeed, those that have 'seen' the Son have so seen the Father, and have died, save in Christ).

But this, too, is just my opinion.
