That is not a text telling us that God cannot look upon evil. It is the prophet expressing shock that God does look upon evil and does not step in and stop it immediately. This is obvious from the second half of the verse “… Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?’"

And He always has, because he changes circumstances by persuading people to change to deal with evil, not by simply arresting people in their evil acts.
What you want say God looking at you Sin Or The God Took away your Sins and remembers sin no more ?covenant circumcision by Holy Spirit of the heart .use the spirit he will show God looks at me what he see is The Blood and all I see is His Glory let's go to next Glory in His Spirit then we have a foundation in Him thanx
I disagree. The prophet acknowledges God cannot look upon evil and mistakenly wonders why He seems to be doing it. If you read the rest of the chapter, God confirms He does not tolerate evil and has a plan to deal with it.
a bit on fire today and this what comes from the Holy spirit in Me. For Starters thats within me, He Does Not Look apon Sin?. Btw That His Spirit . But my flesh most likely will see Sin & try keep me there !! that's the problem people stuck looking at and not speaking Life I'm sure you know or believe Sin is death,, why bury your dead!

Just something to throw out there as I have seen people having heated debates about it. Another topic that causes a lot of discussion is 'would Christ have lived for eternity or have died a man having been in flesh with original sin' I personally think it was on the cross btw

If God cannot look upon evil, how does He know what evil mankind is doing? Do you not agree that He is present everywhere and knows everything that is happening?
All I know is he building a mansion for me and he would not have said it if it's true Jesus said nothing about watching you sin to me he made sure I'm clean my Jesus my converted sealed no one else can do that for me!!

I will stand corrected as I don't know Hebrew, but I think you will find this "look upon" is not in the sense of seeing and taking in information, but has the meaning of "looking upon with a relational mindset". Similar to Jesus' statement in Matt.7:23 where "knowing" is not simply informational but is relational.
And yes, I do believe God is omnipresent and omniscient.
