My present perspective is that, ever since Adam, sin has always been forgiven as soon as a person decides to trust God and sets their heart to please Him as Lord. Jesus’ death at a particular place and time was to demonstrate His love for us by going through with us our trauma at failing to meet adequate standards so that we will be able to trust that He has always been dying for us to put out failures behind us, and to walk with and serve Him without fear. The good news of the cross is supposed to enable us to walk in forgiveness toward ourselves, and towards others (including God).

I'm pretty sure Paul laid it out much better Paul explains that just as men bear the image of the "earthly man" (physical life and death), those who follow Christ Anointing by Holy Spirit will bear the image of the "heavenly man Son of Man ,Jesus" through the birth earth belly aka """?resurrection?.

Still you go off track. The question originally was about forgiveness. Is it to be found in Christ's death or the resurrection? Why are you talking about eternal life?

When was Adam forgiven? When he transgressed God’s commandment, God did not withdraw from Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve withdrew from God. Although God knew Adam had sinned, He gave Adam and Eve garments to assuage their shame so that they would feel more comfortable in His presence. It looks to Me like God forgave Adam as soon as He sinned, because God is good. But Adam thought God was going to berate him, because now Adam had the idea that now He knew good and evil existed, and his own opinion of what a good God would think and do would be correct. But his idea of the good thing to think and do was not the same as God’s. God did not demand an apology or penance. He gave grace and forgiveness. But mankind's new-found confidence in his own supposed ability to discern accurately between good and evil was going to make life much harder for mankind. He was going to trust in his own ideas of “good farming practices" "good parenting”"good social structures” etc. and go down many false trails that would produce unintended consequences that would cause much suffering, pain, guilt and regret.
The problem is not that God is withholding forgiveness, but that healing only comes from realigning our hearts with God, and man is unwilling to surrender His own determination of right and wrong to God, and he is unwilling to do things God’s way, so he keeps getting negative consequences and judges that "God must be not be merciful and good as people say He is”; or “There is no God, and everything is just subject to random chance”; … or some other false judgment of God.

Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.
