Speaking of Rush, multiple musicians thought this guy should have been the replacement drummer for Neil Peart. This guy is incredible!

He's good but he's not that good. I've seen him play a couple of covers. His timing is off a little in some parts, but he's amazing with double bass and speed.
I think they wouldn't have come back if their friend didn't introduce them to Anika. Anika already toured with Jeff Beck who was a legendary guitarist (RIP), and I think she's a great choice although her music style isn't my cup of tea. She composes and plays fusion-style instrumentals. I think she'll do great in Rush because she's already a very technical player and no stranger to odd time signatures. She's also a great drummer! :D

I have just learned from the newspaper today (my Dad still subscribes, even though 3/4 is advertising) that our govt is thinking of raising the age of getting the pension and Gold Card to 70.

I.e I may not even make it. I had nightmares of the world ending before the year 2000. Mostly spewed by JWs ever eager for armageddon to come, from the Watchtower magazines thats why I don't let JWs in the house.

I am also wary of Christians who ever believed that the rapture (what rapture?!) would come in 1988. When I was 8 years old, hadn't even reached double digits.

Y2K was a bust.
This is the 21st century, and I made it. That's enough of a milestone for me.

Well this is an old thread.
Not sure about the drummer - fave drummer was Karen Carpenter, but never saw her live (she died when I was ...3)

Don't have milestones in NZ. Our signs are speed limit signs in kilometres, so if you going 100km and hour you've made it on the motorway, but if you go over, you will get a speeding ticket.

Moral of the story - don't drive too fast....and never drive when drunk or under the influence. For you will crash. And possibly injure and kill somebody, if not yourself.
She's my favorite female singer, and she was a great drummer too. Never saw her live either.

I guess it's easy to look incredible when you only see snapshots of someone playing the drums in clips that went off great. I agree that Anika Nilles is a great drummer, and I wish her the best with Rush. :D

I was prepared to give a response when I thought we were recording millstones. I'll have to rethink milestones.

Wow, someone resurrected this thread from 2015??!!!

*Seoulsearch gears up her favorite rocking chair, and starts to knit like the good old lady, not-controversial-old-at-all old lady that she is.*

2015 was a good year...

So my thread count from 2009 - 2015 was apparently 400 -- if any mod has access to the data and would care to share it, I'd be interested in seeing what it is now in 2026.

When I started going back to live chat, someone asked me if I was new -- and it made me grin from ear to ear.

Just click the blue arrow under your avatar. It shows post count. I didn't know about that feature either until a few days ago. I didn't even know it was an arrow. I thought it was a blue circle.

Yes, although I've been here a while and tend to talk a lot 🤣, my post count is actually relatively low to some people who have been here for shorter amounts of time.

But I believe that is the summary of all of one's posts all together. I don't think it separates posts and threads.

I could be wrong though?

What I would be most interested in is my thread count -- kind of like an old towel that is falling to pieces! 🤣

Thread count - Go to Find Threads at top of your page in the toolbar.
Click on it. Check the number of pages right at the bottom, x20 and you have the number of threads you started, minus the last number of threads on your final page as it's only 20 threads per page so you have to count the difference.

for the record, my thread count is now 373.
My post count is probably high because I tend to post a lot of short posts, instead of one long post with everything on it. It's probably annoying to everyone because its a deluge of Lanolin, but if I separated it into paragraphs in one posting I don't think anyone would read such a long post - you can only scroll for so long. So I do it in soundbites.

The annoying thing about the internet as it says it has 'pages' but it's really not like reading a bound book. It's more like reading an endless scroll. Also the reply box is only maybe 20 lines at the most, so if I make anything longer I have to scroll up and down my own reply.

Thanks for this, Lanolin.

I must be doing something wrong.

I've used the "Find Threads" feature in the past to locate old threads and had realized before that it seems to list threads in the order they were last answered, not in the order of the date they were written.

It also only seems to go back 10 pages (at least for my profile.) So 10 pages x 20 threads per page only comes out to 200. It wouldn't go any further than that.

You said your thread count is at 373 (which is pretty dang impressive, many kudos!) -- what am I doing wrong that I'm not finding an accurate number? 😭

I've also tried to search for some of my old threads before to brush up on details or for ideas for "refreshing" them for a modern audience, but there have been many I couldn't find.

Find Threads > Your Threads

Don't go into your profile just go to the top of the forums page the toolbar underneath the heading

Thanks very much for this, Lanolin!

I never even realized this option existed, as I was looking at the version on my phone and not my laptop, and this menu seems to only be available there.

It listed 56 pages of threads, so that's approximately 1,120.

I can't really take credit for that many though, as I've recycled many ideas over the year (it's always interesting to see what different crowds from different times have to say.)

But it was interesting to see a general number.

Thank you again! :)

Wow 1,120!
You welcome
That's amazing.
It would take me maybe a decade or more to reach that number.
I haven't reached the 400 milestone yet, so that could be an achievable SMART goal for me. 27 more threads!!

I figured if I had made a thread before on the topic I just dig it up again as seems acceptable to do that here.

You're doing an awesome job. 🥳

Just go at your own pace and take breaks when needed. ❤️

And yes, the crowds here always change, so repeating questions is definitely allowed.

Many of the regulars don't even mind answering the same questions, as they know it helps introduce new members to the community.🌹
