But He didn't die to save people, He died to pay the penalty of sin.
Interesting point...
"But He didn't die to save people, He died to pay the penalty of sin."
The payment which made people able to be saved.
The Calvinists get screwed up by not realizing God draws all men. Not only some.
Even drawing those who will reject Him.
The drawing is unseen and undetectable to a person.
They just think it is their own private thought process, thus making them free to choose evil if they so desire.
It is during the drawing period that it gets determined by God whom will be enabled by grace to believe in Jesus.
Being presented the gospel is the tip of the iceberg for those whom God has drawn.
For hidden below the surface of the tip was the Father who remained unseen while presenting men with situations
and circumstances that God used to evaluate that soul with.
If a soul passes the Father's evaluation requirements?
Then that is when the Father is gives that soul to Jesus!
All those the Father gives me will come to me,
and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. John 6:37
The Father does not give 'irresistible grace!'He gives grace to be saved only those whom He determined during the drawing will not resist Jesus!
That factor was determined by the Father while his drawing was taking place!
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him,
and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44
grace and peace!
