@sawdust, they get around this by asserting that regeneration is not equal to being saved, of course this is also nowhere taught in scripture.
Believing something simply makes it the way God designed us to be. All men live and act in accordance with their belief. The only thing believing does is reveal who the man is. Believing something doesn't make it so. You seem to be of the opinion that if one believes something, they can change reality.
The only reason believing brings salvation is because God promised to save believers. If it were not so, one could believe till the cows come home and it would have no effect.

No, natural man cannot believe the true gospel. Read 1 Co 2 closely. It is all explained there in great detail.
The two - salvation and belief - are spiritual, not physical, they must happen simultaneously to each other, not apart according to earthly limitations.
In the Scripture, God uses the word saved in two ways: having one's spiritual state changed during one's lifetime and
to be saved from judgment at the judgment seat of Christ. The context of the one you used is the latter, not the former.
It is demonstrated by the following verse. In other words, for someone to be able to "endure" until the end, they must already have faith, not obtain it at "the end" or they wouldn't "endure". The "shall be saved" is in the future tense, just as your proof-text verse - and they are both referring to the same event.

Well, Cameron is also including the indwelling of the Holy Spirit before belief which, imo, is really stretching things to breaking point and beyond.

Because that would make salvation is by man, not by Christ, however, Christ alone is the Savior who unilaterally gives salvation - no one is saved by either their actions or their choices - they are only recipients of it not its cause, that's why.
You don't seem to listen very well. There are people who believe in aliens. Does that mean there must be aliens? Does their believing make it so?
We are not saved because we believe, we are saved because God has determined He will save believers. We are not doing the saving because we believe. God is doing the saving because He said so! How many times must it be said before it gets through?

Why? Does the Bible say we are saved by receiving a new heart or spirit? Does it say we are saved by the indwelling Spirit? Nope. It says we are saved by grace through faith. But the natural fallen man is spiritually dead and his heart is wicked. He needs a new heart to believe with his heart. He needs a new spirit to confess with his mouth. Otherwise, he will not respond to the gospel.

Even though God isn't confused, the one making the inquire may be, hence they asked the question, not God. So we should be able to tell a inquirer exactly who the Lord Jesus Christ is, and what He accomplished and for whom.
So what about the Lord Jesus Christ should be believed according to scripture testimony ? Im sure Paul was able to tell the Jailor who exactly Jesus Christ is, for it says that they spake unto him the word of the Lord Vs 32

So maybe you need to be serious now and explain to us the word of the Lord, what you would tell someone who asked you what shall I do to be saved. We waiting

I don't know a single Christian who believes as you do. We have those things because we are saved, not in order to be saved.
