It happened to me....

And, I, having been Jewish, did not know what was happening to me.
I just thought when I believed it was something I wanted to believe about Jesus.
I had no idea that some real changes were going to take place.
No clue.

Only years later, I finally began reading the Word only to find out what had happened to me was Biblical.

It did not depend on me to make those changes in me.
They happened anyway... And, painfully so!

We all were changed when we believed.
We need the Word to define for us what took place!

It was when I was made able (by grace) to realize Heaven is real that the pain began to fade.

Grace and peace!
thanks God!

that's an actual grace that leads us to humility and Christ, His church, and His sacramental life!

Yes, WB is good but SB is required and what WB should symbolize.
WB served as the NT substitute for PC with Gentiles (cf. Col. 2:11-14).
wb and sb are connected!

Salvation is instant, it is given my grace. It is permanent, but you can make the foolish mistake of walking away.

Is Salvation instantaneous and permanent?:

Part I

Depends on "What God Said To whom", In His Precious Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided:

A) In God's ( earthly ) Context of prophecy / Covenants / law

Christ, the Humble Servant ( on earth ) taught the gospel of
the kingdom to 12 apostles, for the Twelve tribes of Israel...
(Matthew - John cp Hebrews - Revelation)

Eternal Security is "not in View":

1) "faith Plus works" addressed to whom?: twelve tribes (James 1:1, 2:14, 17, 20, 26 AV)

2a) "endure to the end" to whom? (Matthew 10:22, 24:13; Mark 13:13 AV)

2b) "those who fall away = impossible renewal again to repentance" to whom?
Again, to whom?

3) Earthly Judgment to "enter into the kingdom" (Matthew 25:31-46 AV)

God's Earthly Prophecy Program

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ” (online)

God's Heavenly Mystery Program...

God's Heavenly Mystery Program

B) In God's Other ( Heavenly ) Context Of Grace, According To His
"Revelation Of The Mystery" (Romans - Philemon AV)

Christ, The Glorified Lord Of Heaven Revealed to One apostle, The
Gospel Of The Grace Of God, for The One Body Of Christ...

1a) Instantaneous Justification And Also, Permanent Eternal Security "Is in View":

For us simpletons, we have no problem with Humble heart "belief, trust, faith"
In/On The Lord Jesus Christ, and His Death [ Finished Work On The Cross!!! ], Burial,
And Resurrection For God's Eternal Salvation!!! - ie:

"For By Grace Through faith Are ye Saved Through faith; and That not of
yourselves: It Is The Gift Of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

trust: Eph 1:12-14; 2Co 1:9-10; 1Ti 4:10
faith: Rom 8:28; 10:17; Eph 1:15 Gal 3:8, 14, 24, 26; Phi 3:9; 2Ti 3:15

belief:
our "Grace pattern", Paul spoke:

"This Is A Faithful Saying, and Worthy of all acceptation, That Christ Jesus
Came into the world to Save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for This
Cause I Obtained Mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ Might Shew Forth all
longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter
believe... (1Ti 1:15-16
cp Rom 1:16, 3:22-24, 26-28, 4:5, 24-25, 10:4, 10, 14; 1Co 1:21;
Eph 1:12-14; Gal 3:22; 2Th 1:10, 2:13; 1Ti 1:16, 4:3; 2Ti 2:12; Tit 3:8
also cp received/believed not (2Th 2:10-12 AV)

...On Him To Life Everlasting!"
Therefore, Yes, It Is A Biblical Fact, God Has Instantaneous Justification
By humble [ heart ] faith, trust, belief In Christ, And In His Grace Gospel Of:

The Death [ All-Sufficient BLOOD ], Burial, and Resurrection Of The Lord Jesus Christ!

Biblical Confirmation:
1b) Without works (Rom 3:28, 4:4-5. 9:11; Eph 2:9; Tit 3:4-7), Result?:

Already "Made meet [ worthy ]" and Also [ Instantaneously ] "translated
Into The Kingdom Of His Dear SON..." (Colossians 1:12-14 AV)

2a) Earnest Of The Holy Spirit, Sealed Unto The Day Of Redemption
2b) Christ, Completely Able, Will Perform "What Is Predestinated" For
all members of The Body Of Christ!:
"For whom He Did Foreknow, He also Did Predestinate To Be Conformed To
The Image Of His SON, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."
+
"Moreover whom He Did Predestinate, them He also called: and whom He
called, them He also Justified: and whom He Justified, them He also glorified."
(Romans 8:30 AV) God Already "Has all These In The Past Tense"? Permanent, eh?
+
"Having Predestinated us unto The Adoption * of children By Jesus Christ To Himself,
According To the Good Pleasure of His Will, To the Praise of the Glory of His Grace,
wherein He Hath Made us Accepted in The Beloved." (Ephesians 1:5-6 AV)
* The Body Of Christ members' Adoption is At The Day Of Redemption [ of our
+
"In Whom also we Have Obtained An Inheritance, Being Predestinated According to
The Purpose of Him Who Worketh all things after The Counsel of His Own Will: That
we should be To The Praise of His Glory, who first trusted in Christ."

3) Concerning our works:

"For we are His Workmanship, Created In Christ Jesus Unto good works,
which God Hath Before Ordained that we should walk in them."

Thus, At the Heavenly Bema Judgment Seat "works receive rewards or lack thereof"
(1 Corinthians 3:8-15 AV), Culminating in God's Truth Of Eternal 'Security' For
All [ faithful And unfaithful ] "members Of His Body Of Christ!" = v. 15:
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but
he himself Shall Be Saved; yet so as by fire."

2a) "endure to the end" to whom? (Matthew 10:22, 24:13; Mark 13:13 AV)

When Jesus spoke those words..
Jesus was still functioning as a Rabbi who was teaching Jewish disciples.
Jesus was not teaching the Church.
It had to be according to what Jews could know and understand.

He was teaching that Jews during the Tribulation must endure to the end (of the seven years).
If they endured and remain true to what the Torah contains?
That they would be "delivered" (saved) out of the Tribulation and delivered.
Saved, to enter into the Millennium!

There is no such thing for 'the new creation in Christ' as needing to endure anything to be saved.
For us it is... Just believe in the Lord Jesus Christ! And you shall be saved.

He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

You do not know what salvation is. Anyway, we are saved by grace, not by anything that we do. If God's grace was not granted to us, no amount of faith could save us. Anything done apart from Jesus is worthless in God's sight, no matter how good it appears to be. Lord Jesus said, "Apart from me, you can do nothing." And that is how God counts even the most noble works done outside of Christ - nothing.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the king will answer them, ‘I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels! please explain

Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

and eternal life is not the same as eternal salvation
There are 3 salvations. The word salvation is part of the problem. It's become Christian code for going to heaven when you die. That is misleading. Substitute the word deliverance instead and it becomes clearer.

The first "salvation" is to be born again. It is the spirit that is born again. That is eternal life.

Only those who are born again can experience the next phase of "deliverance", the second salvation. It is known as the salvation of the soul and is the goal of our faith. This is the second salvation. Again, if the word deliver is used instead of save, it makes it easier to understand.

The last salvation is the physical body. It is replaced with the spiritual body.

Being born again and finally receiving our new bodies is instantaneous. Being born again is irreversible. The only condition is accepting Christ as saviour and believing "into" His name. It's not at all difficult. It is impossible! Only God can do it.

The salvation, or deliverance, of the soul is conditional on our cooperation with God. It requires diligence and the end of self will. It is hard and costly. To be born again costs nothing. To be spiritual costs everything. That's why so few experience the fullness of the salvation of the soul.

Bringing some spillover of insight from the other thread, I don't think I'd be reaching too far to suggest that this is 'hard and costly' because we must walk into the whirling sword of flame in order to access this deliverance, but this also illuminates the good reason we must first be born of the spirit, it would be impossible to do this without the Helper's comfort and faith.

That is about the return of Christ with his angels after the Tribulation ends..... Evaluating those whom were either helpers of those who were openly believers (144,000), about those who protected and offered them help to survive...

"I was a stranger and you invited me in, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’"

That is not simply about salvation, That is about what will take place in regard to those who will be God's witnesseses during the Tribulation.

Remember? Jesus at that time was teaching the Jews, not the Church. The Tribulation will take place after the removal of the Church takes place (Rapture) and will be seven years of the return of Jews being God's representative people on the earth.

Wow. That's about 125yrs worth of bad theology. Jesus was talking to the people of all time. Why would he waste his breath on something that might happen 25,000 yrs later. He was talking to those alive and listening to him. You are wrong about not simply about salvation. Either Jesus meant what he said, or you have to come up with a better explanation of why we should ignore him and instead bow down to your dogma? If you were not the Son of God hanging on a cross, I will go with the one who was.

You've answered your own question. If anyone can be born again without being baptised, then it is not essential to being born again. Believers should be baptised. That comes after being born again. If obedience was the absolute requirement for salvation, no one would be saved because no one obeys God perfectly. That includes you.

I suggest that you read John 1:12 again. Tell me where it says baptism is for salvation. Likewise John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Where is baptism referred to here?
It is terrible hermeneutics to expect every biblical reference to a theme to contain an exhaustive description of that theme, and to search out and select those references that do not mention those unliked aspects mentioned elsewhere that you don’t like, as proof that those aspects are not included in the essentials of the theme.

Yes, faith is an essential requirement for salvation. Faith means more than just a profession to believe something, or a mental assent to some truth claim. It is being sufficiently persuaded by something or someone to act in ways that are commensurate with that persuasion. If Jesus said, at some points, that his evangelists should baptise in the names of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit those who begin to believe in Him, then those who begin to believe in Him and who truly believe those are Jesus’ words, will obey Him and submit to baptism. They will not look for loop-holes to avoid doing some easy thing that Jesus, whom they profess to be their Lord, said to do.

When baptism is commanded by Jesus, it becomes faith to get baptised, and it becomes rebellion to refuse to be baptised. Sure, someone who has not read Jesus commands regarding baptism can believe in Him and remain unbaptised until they do read them. And sure, God can give, without breaking His own word, the Holy Spirit to, and can even baptise and fill with the Holy Spirit, those who are not yet baptised. But once a genuine believer hears the good Shepherd speak those words of scripture to Him/her, they will ask to be baptised. Religious church-goers may put roadblocks to immediate obedience in the way of new believers by demanding indoctrination into their particular theological mindset through catechisation first, or by talking new believers out of baptism altogether. That dissuasion is not good discipleship, since Jesus said to make disciples baptising them.

Hello?
Where'd you go?

If that were the case?
Isaiah 53 was written centuries before Jesus was crucified.
It seems you don't understand yet how the Bible can speak of a future event as if it were happening in the present.

In the parable of the goats and sheep?
That was an account of what "Rabbi" Jesus taught his Jewish disciples.
There was no church age while Jesus walked the earth before his crucifixion.

I had to learn to rightly handle the Word of God.
We all do...
Even when it does not please our friends to tell them its not what they wanted to hear.

The sheep and goats?
His disciples were all Jewish when He spoke.
He spoke to them according to their Jewish history and thinking.
Pentecost shocked them and took them all by surprise!

After Pentecost Peter was still very much Jewish in how he thought, and was even wanting to refuse the Lord
who commanded him to break what Peter followed under kosher law.

Acts 11:6-8
I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.
Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’
“I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

After the Church age began? Peter and the other disciples needed to be taught to think in different ways according
to their new life in Christ. Peter had to stop thinking as one living under the Law in various areas of his life.

Acts 11:9
“The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’

Prior to the Church age, what the Lord told Peter to eat would have gotten Peter into trouble for breaking the Law!
