Help me. I don't get the connection. Luke 3 is about the timing of John the Baptist. What does John the Baptist have to do with the Gospel account of "Jesus observed the passover and instituted the Lord's Supper, or was crucified on day before the passover, thus could not have instituted the Lord's supper.

The 23rd verse tells us that Yeshua was now thirty years of age at the time described in verse one. From this information it is easy to determine the year of His birth by simply referring to world history and documented dates thereof.

And from that data it is now a simple matter to determine the date of the crucifixion……..

All 4 Gospels describe that Jesus's tomb was found empty on Sunday, first day of the week. None identify the Sabbath (Saturday) as the announcement of the empty tomb and none claim He rose from the grave on Saturday.

Ever wonder why the time of the Resurrection is impossible to determine from the accounts left us??

NOTHING God does is happenstance!

It was all planned to the N th degree, to the split second before creation

The Bible, the entire WORD of God can be viewed in many ways, on purpose
Which is why we have so many different churches teaching diverse doctrines and division is growing.

Unless the Father opens ones mind -- understanding is impossible.

only 25% of the world even "sort of", kind of, accepts Christ as savior.

And this will remain until Christ is on earth Ruling as KING of Kings.

and things, we have been warned, are going to get even worse.

So bad, even the "Elect" could be deceived.

Matthew 25 tells us the church is fast asleep!

The reason so many different sects and denominations exist in Christianity is the simple fact that Satan spends all his time here.

He could not care less what happens in Islam, the Buddhists, the Hindus, the Shintoists, the Wiccans and even our brothers, the Jews. This is why they have such little division…..and we are suffocated because of it.

Satan exists where He can do the most damage by causing strife, disagreement and even war in some cases between Christian countries. Christianity poses the most threat to him and so he acts accordingly.

It is not.

Hawkeye

I find there are three resurrections
Some, only one
some, we go to heaven or hell at death, I do not find a hell where many are punished for eternity
some, at some rapture they are snatched to heaven and even then they say there could be 3 or 4 times it could occur, they can not even agree when this snatching happens
on and on

why? because it is not clearly written.

Much of it is there, but it is written to be only revealed by God

Oh yes Satan love confusion and will do what ever Christ allows him to do
Satan and the demons are under restraint for now -- soon they will be loosed

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people

WHY???

13 But the word of the LORD was unto them
precept upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, [and] there a little;

that they might g

I'm not inclined to blame "Satan." The original "church" was always way more varied than is understood. In its first 200 yrs there was no one Christian Church as there were many regional variations, beliefs and practices. They had no common set of sacred scriptures. However, they were all under threat from local, regional and international forces such as vicious Roman leaders. They were held together by the political and cultural opposition and by a common commitment to sacrifice for their faith. Over the next few hundred years the Christian Church was captured by the Roman Government. It was the natural human desire to be respected and even valued after yrs of persecution that led to the politicalization of Christianity. The Roman Emperor had authority over the church. It became organized and oriented by that church/government relationship. Roman law became church law and vice versa. As the saying goes total power leads to total corruption. The corruption of the Roman church reached a breaking point by the 16th century after a initial division between east and west in the 11th century. What has powered the desire and need for continuous Christian church division arose out of a common understanding that everyone who could read the bible for themselves will have everything they needed for salvation and Christian living. This lit the fuse for the divisive explosions that have continued till now. What I believe to be the "right" interpretation of the Bible is all that is needed to continuously split into a world wide panoply of Christian sects. Each has its own unique take on Christianity and thus must confront all other interpretations as "false." Satan is not required for this process. It is uniquely human. It has resulted in over 45,000 different Christianities each with a differentiation vital to themselves, each with animosity, opposition and even aggression toward all other Christian churches. This division and its attendant infrastructures from the cathedrals of europe, to the small town church, the mega churches and the injection of political affiliation into Christian doctrine has led to the rapid demise of Christianity in North America. Multi-millions have left all church behind. Now culture wars are accelerating the rate of both division and rejection. World-wide business posing as christian churches, the Prosperity Gospel and the internet with its destruction of social cohesion are further accelerating the rapid demise of Christianity in North America. On the good news side there is an explosion of Christianity happening in the global south and in sub-saharan Africa. There are more than twice as many Christians in Africa as in North America. There are over 100 million Christians in Nigeria alone. Non-Catholic christianity is rapidly expanding in South America.

IMHO, all this divisiveness is driven by a false premise. The false premise is that Christianity is just having the "right" theology. It is exclusively about conceptualizing and encapsulating the "right belief." It is my perspective that Christianity is not primarily about what we believe but about what our faith leads us to do. It is about a commitment to Jesus instead of our theories about Jesus. It is about who we once were and about who we are becoming. It is about the power of salvation in this life and the one to come not just to the next life. As a Christian community and as a society we are losing our belief in and commitment to the power of love. When our relationship to Jesus is not based on genuine love then we are quick to justify it through theology. When confronted by life, do we ask what does our creed demand of us or what does love demand of us. Unlike the earliest Christians we have no political or economic enemies, thus we no longer have a religion were we are called into harmony by oppression. Sacrifice is only associated with what Jesus did, but not on what He calls us to do. We are rapidly expanding that gap between unconverted, under-converted and loveless Christianity generation by generation. Christianity is shaped more by our culture than our faith, trust and love.

I’m not so sure you would be satisfied with my response since you evidently expressed some doubt in post #55 about the fact that the three days and three nights (Matthew 12:40) did not totally occur in the tomb. His time of resurrection is dependent upon this belief.

To reiterate……(Luke 24:13-21) shows Cleopas telling Messiah, Himself that part of the three days and three nights were spent with Him being handed over to the Romans, sentenced to death and crucified after they had hoped He would redeem Israel. He had told this to the unrecognized Yeshua in response to His question……(verse 19) “What Things”?

Handed over, sentenced to death and crucified did not take place in the tomb. Nevertheless Cleopas had indicated (verse 21) to Yeshua that it was now the third day since ALL THESE THINGS took place.

It is difficult to believe that one would not accept this passage as proof the three days and three nights included other things besides reposing in the tomb.

so He did not actually die? if that were so then we are still under the penalty of death of our own sins.

everyone on this site has their own concept on every thing, no one agrees!
I see why the time of the End must come. Satan Has deceived the entire world.

let me try to make this clearer

Jesus Christ is GOD, the God who made us, formed us out of dirt, all humanity!

His life is therefore worth far more then all human life together, in to the trillions or more.

If HIS human body died --- that pays for one human life.
I can die for you, but if I did then I am still under the penalty of death.
one human life covers only one human life.
either Christ pays our penalty or we do.

it is only the LIFE of God that can pay all debt for sin.

Is (Luke 24:13-21) inspired scripture…..or is it not?

not clear on what you said, you seems to say He was not in the Tomb for 3 days, he was some where else
verse 13 - 21, - 3 days from which event?
Perhaps you should go back and read my post #54 which explains my position in great detail. What I am saying is very simple……..

(Matthew 12:40) has been taught erroneously that this represents our Savior’s total time in the tomb! It does not. It represents the total time He would be under the command and control of the “Heart of the Earth”……which is not the tomb!

He only spent part of the three days and three nights in the tomb and the other part was spent being delivered to the Romans, being sentenced to death and then being crucified which could not possibly have happened in the tomb.

But Cleopas verifies that the being handed over, the sentencing to death and being crucified does take part during the three days and three nights……not all of it! Just part of it!

The Heart of the Earth is the Roman civil rule of basically the civilized Earth at that time. And……this is what our Messiah was handed over to…..the Romans!

This is not rocket science. It is scripture……

Sorry no sale, there are too many other scriptures connected to this event and Christ specifically said 3 days and 3 night of 12 hours each, in the heart of the earth

I have convinced no one as yet, that the Bible was not written to be easily understood, if it was, there would not be thousands of churches.

for almost 2000 years men have debated what this mean and that means.

prophecy states the Books will be opened when Christ is on earth, until then this will go on.

How else could Satan Deceive the entire world and it is deceived.

Chapters and verses……????

It should be noted that He described the period of the “Heart of the Earth” as ………Three day and three nights. Not three nights and three days as would be the case if He had been referring to the burial by Joseph (Matthew 27:57; Mark 15: 42-43; Luke 23:54.)

He was handed over to Roman authorities at the morning dawn of the day of preparation (Matthew 27:1-2) (Mark 15:1) (Luke 22:66/ 23:1) (John 18:28) and that’s when the three days began.

A typical Hebrew speaker would always begin a period of time mentioning the evening first (Genesis 1:5)……not daytime.

wasn't you that showed me there are two evening?
And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. this why He said what He said

I will just offer one verse
Daniel 9
27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Christ came to confirm the marriage covenant with His Bride, it does not say that but that is what it is,
for one week of years - 7. in the midst of the week Christ ended the Sacrificial law that all pointed to Him, by His one sacrifice.

He began the 7 years on His date of birth 7/15 27AD, when He turned 30, a priest can not work in the Temple until 30.
He was put to death on 1/14/31 AD on our Wednesday, middle of the week at exactly 33 1/2 years of age. so he was cut of after 3 1/2 years of confirming the covenant

from 7/15/4 BC until 1/14/31 AD is exactly 33 1/2 years and from 7/15/27 AD until 1/14/31 AD is exactly 3 1/2 years

Thus in the tomb at sunset on our Wednesday 3 days and 3 nights is the Sabbath just before sunset.

the daily sacrifice is at 9 am and 3 pm our time, the word states He died at 3 pm,
As our Passover He died at 3
Our our daily sacrifice He died at 3
then on the first day of the week at 9 AM He rose to be accepted by the Father

one more thing there are years I call double Sabbath Years, this year (2026) is one

Passover is on Wednesday 1/14
the Feast of Trumpets 7/1
the first day of the Feast of Tabernacle 7/15
and the last Great day i.e. the Eight day 7/22

all 3 Feasts fall on a 7th day Sabbaths, double Sabbaths

Part of the issue is defining exactly what "inspired" means. It seems to range from virtual verbal dictation all the way to a sense of awe that one seeks to express. And just where one falls on that spectrum says a lot.

It seems you are not comprehending what I’m actually saying as you continue to bring forth passages that have no relevance. So……I’ll just say…..may you, your home and all within receive the blessings from our Father that you well deserve.
