If you want to study that subject, then go for it. I am not stopping you.
My questions arise from my studies. I'm attempting to ascertain the breadth of your understanding to see if you can add to mine.

Why should anyone accept your teaching if it has no fundamental foundation?

The angle of attack that you are pursuing is weak.
As I said, very clever of you.

However, if you wish to know, Jesus Christ is on my side. So you loose the argument since I am teaching how the BOR applies to us today. I am not willing to be diverted into some obscure nonsense as a flood from Lucifer that you are propagating.

So...you prop yourself up as a teacher, but do not have the wherewithal to stand up to the scrutiny of what you teach? Instead, your response is to ascribe such activity as motivated by the evil one. All without ever undergirding your arguments with a foundation of truth.

I wonder...doesn't this open the understanding to error?

You were very clever as you began your argument to come in under the radar. But I saw you. Now your attack is more in the open. If you had a question about what I am teaching, then you would have asked it.

Nevertheless, you continue to attack using the same diversion that is so cunning among the wicked.
And while you may dissuade some from learning about the coming tribulation, you will not get all of them. Some see what I see. A devil in sheep's clothing attacking one who is teaching about the BOR.

I'm not attacking you. I'm merely questioning whether your understanding is girded with understanding. If your teaching cannot undergo scrutiny, it's likely in error.

I will tell you once again. If you want to understand how the BOR applies to first-century saints, then go for it.

But that is not what you want. No, you want to attack my knowledge about the BOR. So stop pretending to be a saint and face the fact that you are representing Lucifer in attacking me. I can see you.

Thank you, DL.

Although the BOR was written two thousand years ago, it is a prophecy for our time. John tells us this in Rev. 1:3.

3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

But the "he that readeth" could be anybody reading from the time John wrote the words to the end of the world. That includes people living today who read Revelation, but it cannot mean that the details are all things that are happening now.
The time of the great tribulation is now. Therefore, the prophecy is for us today.

With regard to Babylon being an economic system.
Rev. 13:15-17 tells us that the mark of the beast is an economic system that represents the beast of Rev. 13:1, which is the beast of Rev. 17:3, of whom Chapter Seventeen is about. Therefore, the seven fallen are economic systems, from which the eighth economic system comes.

Economics is the life blood of any kingdom. For without the econonic system, the kingdom falls.
Economics may be considered to be important to any kingdom, but that doesn't mean that when we read the word "king" in Scripture, we can replace it with "economics."

Thank you, DL.
The BOR has linking verses throughout. And it is from these links that we are given a clearer picture of what is being said. So, in the structure of the book, Chapter One links to Chapter Twenty-Two. Here is that BOR structure:

a) Ch. 1, introduction
b) Ch. 2-3, The marriage gifts
c) Ch. 4-8(i), The seals storyline
d) Ch. 8(ii)-11, The trumpets storyline
d) Ch. 12-16, The mark of the beast storyline
c) Ch. 17-19, The fall of Babylon storyline
b) Ch. 20-21, The eternal gifts
a) Ch. 22, conclusion

So the counterpart to Rev. 1:3 is Rev. 22:7-10.

1:3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

22:7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

We know that the Savior has not yet come to the earth. So, the reading of the prophecy is designed to encourage the saints to draw close to the Savior over the past two thousand years. It helps to encourage them to draw close to the Savior for their salvation.

However, the prophecy has been sealed. And when the time for the Savior's return comes, it will be unsealed. This is what "seal not" (Rev. 22:10) refers. Unseal the prophecy: for the time is at hand.

Thus, when the prophecy is unsealed, then the time of the Savior's return is at hand. The BOR is unsealed.

It follows that in Rev. 1:3 where it says "for the time is at hand" links to Rev. 22:10 where it says "for the time is at hand."

The point of Rev. 22:10 is that when the prophecy is unsealed, then the time is at hand.
It follows in Rev. 1:3 that the one reading is reading an unsealed book.

But the "he that readeth" could be anybody reading from the time John wrote the words to the end of the world. That includes people living today who read Revelation, but it cannot mean that the details are all things that are happening now.

Continuing with my response to DL.

17:10And there are seven kings (government leaders): five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

It follows that government leaders are supported by their economies.

Since Chapter 17 shows the judgment upon Babylon is removing her from the back of the beast (Rev. 17:3, Rev. 17:16).
Then the beast in Rev. 17:11 is free of Babylon, and his economy is the mark of the beast (Rev. 13:15-17).

I go with the first because it matches earlier descriptions

Textus Receptus
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. Revelation 17:16

Critical text
And the ten horns that you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, and they will make her desolate and naked, and they will eat her flesh and will burn her in fire. Revelation 17:16

The seals storyline primarily covers the 3.5-year tribulation.
Revelation 5:1-4
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.

4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.

^ Where was the Messiah from the time no one anywhere was found worthy, to the time He appeared? Or what was His state/condition?

CRD, you are by far my best friend. Thank you for knowing scripture.
