Was going to post but.. the more I read.. I remember in this bible study I was 15 she said if you really want to know who its about. When someone is talking you listen for "me me me" or "I I I . The fruit of the spirit is? Add to the 1st Cor 13.

Its real simple... to the OP I simply disagree with your post. Some believers do see it the way you posted I do not. This is one of those threads I will not take part it.. the talk between each other.. you know better.

It's gone off the rails anyway. The entire thing....engine, caboose and all the cars

Doesn't preaching God's soverignty require one to acknowledge the truth of every inspired Scripture, especially those which give us insight into His decisionmaking? In the case of 1 Corinthians 1:21, God's peasure is stated to be in saving those who believe. And the grammar makes it clear that "those who believe" are the direct objects of His action "to save". The grammar prevents a "reverse" understanding (i.e., that "to believe" is the result of "being saved").

[1Co 1:18 KJV] 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

[1Co 1:21 KJV] 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1 Co 1:21 verse should be understood in its proper context rather than taken in isolation.
According to the 1 Co 1:18 (above), the unsaved—those who are perishing—see the message of the cross as foolishness, while only those who are saved recognize it as the power of God. If the unsaved are bound by this perception of foolishness, how then can they believe before salvation?
In verse 1:21, the verse you quoted, Paul also says that “the world through wisdom did not know God.” If God cannot be known through human wisdom, then a person cannot come to true belief in Him by natural ability. Something must first occur in a person that comes from outside of themselves because the spiritually dead have no such ability. In vs 1:21, the "to save", is in the Aorist tense, and according to my limited understand of Greek, being Aorist, actually means a completed action not a future action relative to believing. IOW, the while the preaching was for them to believe, the saving already completed (Aorist).

[1Co 1:30 KJV] 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Verse 1:30 reinforces this with the phrase, “of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who is made unto us...,” showing that we are placed in Christ Jesus entirely by God’s work, not the result of our belief. And because we are in Christ, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption are given freely to us as gifts from God, not as things received through our belief.

Only those who reject Christ, and the same goes for the line of Jacob.
Are you aware of Gal. 3:28? Rom. 2:11? 11:1-23?

What Obadiah wrote takes place after Christ has returned and those in the 2nd Exodus, on the way to Jerusalem, are the ones who put the males to death, the women are not killed.

this takes place directly after the 7 Trumpet plagues and the Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty.

You do understand Christ puts to death evil people? By the time He sets foot on the Mount of Olive 90% of the 8 billion will have died.

These are those that worshiped the Beast.
Esau is Turkey and they are very involved with the Beast and the pope

I encourage you to major on the NT and update your understanding of a minor prophet.

[1Co 1:18 KJV] 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18 aligns perfectly with what is written in Romans 1:16.

The "preaching of the cross" is the gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe:

Romans 1:16-18

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it
[the gospel of Christ] is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein
[in the gospel of Christ] is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness

The words "who hold" in vs 18 are translated from the Greek word katechō which means to restrain, suppress.

According to Romans 1:16, the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes.

According to Romans 1:18, those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness do not receive the promised salvation ... not because the gospel is not powerful to save, but because they suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

According to Romans 1:17, the justified ones live from faith to faith ... the believer continues to live from faith to faith ... not from works to faith or faith to works, but from faith to faith ... a continuous walk in faith in the One Who upholds all His promises.

[1Co 1:21 KJV] 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1 Co 1:21 verse should be understood in its proper context rather than taken in isolation.

The ones who do not suppress the truth in unrighteousness do not "see the message of the cross as foolishness" when the gospel is preached ... and because the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation (according to Romans 1:16 and 1 Corinthians 1:18), those who do not suppress the truth in unrighteousness are brought to salvation through the power of God in the gospel of Christ.

In verse 1:21, God reveals that His purpose is to save through the foolishness of preaching ... this is truth which goes all the way back to Genesis. God is pleased to save through preaching.

In vs 1:21, the "to save", is in the Aorist tense, and according to my limited understand of Greek, being Aorist, actually means a completed action not a future action relative to believing. IOW, the while the preaching was for them to believe, the saving already completed (Aorist).
According to your line of reasoning, God withholds from those who perish that which is needed in order for them not to perish.

However, according to Romans 1:16-20, those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness because they believe the gospel is foolishness are without excuse.

You have God withholding what is needed in order for someone to be saved and then holding them to account for their rejection of God's Word.

Everything we have is entirely through God's grace, mercy, lovingkindness ...

The very first record of God imputing righteousness to anyone through faith is in Genesis 15:

Genesis 15:4-6

4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him
[Abram], saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

6 And he
[Abram] believed in the LORD; and he [God] counted it to him for righteousness.

The record does not state Abraham was made righteous and then he believed. Righteousness was imputed to Abraham when he believed what God told him.

God's Word is the power ... not the faith of the one who believes.

I follow Christ, He said every Word

Yes, but you don't seem to be harmonizing every word or interpreting Obadiah in light of the NT.
Instead, you appear to ignore/be unaware of Gal. 3:28, Rom. 2:11, 11:1-23, etc., which indicate that
only those who reject Christ will be destroyed, whether descendants of Esau or Jacob.

The ones who do not suppress the truth in unrighteousness do not "see the message of the cross as foolishness"
Thats all of us as natural men 1 Cor 2:14. the Gospel is spiritually hidden to the Lost and they will spiritually believe not 2 Cor 4:3-4

The gospel is the power of God to only one group of people, the saved 1 Cor 1:18

18 For the preaching of the cross/gospel is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

In the original saved has the definite article, specifying definitly to whom it is the Cross is the power of God to !

So, we're done with Rom 9:11 -12 and I'm out.
The interesting part of Romans chapter 9 is it shows us the Election for the establishment of the Hebrew peoples becoming a Nation. But nothing else is mentioned in the Bible about Election except for the Plan of Salvation was established before the foundation of the world and those Saved would be Saved in Yeshua.

Wrong about Rom 9 being about the Hebrews becoming a nation, and wrong about election not being mentioned in the Bible.

GWH

75 percent of the entire earth today does not know Christ or care and there is no strong effort to introduce them.
How can they reject what they know nothing about?
just hearing the Name cannot make a person accountable
if that was the case our 330 million are in deep trouble, actually they are.

Over the last 6000 years maybe 10 or 20% of the 100 billion that have lived and died even heard the name once.
so Christ will cast them into some burning hell? Not the Jesus Christ I follow.

When Christ sets foot on the earth 90% will have died.

I study both the O and the N together, what I wrote will occur, it came from Jesus Christ.

there are around 240 million "saying", claiming they are christians in the US today
that leave around 100 million that are not.

do you believe Christ will reject, put to death, the 100 million that may or may not have any real knowledge of what Christ taught?
and of the 240 claiming to some degree, they are all saved?? even those that show up only at easter or once a year?

sorry, that is not the Jesus Christ I follow.

But: The revelation given to John by Christ does show, after the two Witnesses give their testimony, Christ will put to death 90% of earths 8 billion by the time He sets foot on the Mount of Olives.

It takes two witnesses before the sentence of death can be carried out.
