Prayer Request for Peace and Strength in a Difficult Workplace

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,


I would like to ask for prayer regarding my workplace situation. I have been working in this company for 6 years, and recently my boss has been treating me in a very hurtful way. After I came back from Genting Highlands, he kept pressuring me to try gambling in the casino even after I clearly told him that I am a committed Christian and I do not want to do so.


What hurt me even more was that he spoke badly about my father and accused him of being a gambler. I explained that my father has always gone with me to Genting and has never even stepped into a casino, but my boss continued making unpleasant remarks. His words are often very harsh and hurtful, and many times they spoil my whole day at work. I really pray that he will stop making such comments and speak less harshly in the office.


At the same time, I want to thank God because I have seen His faithfulness before. Previously, I asked for prayer regarding a colleague who bullied me, and unexpectedly she later resigned peacefully. I also prayed about my lady boss who used to show favoritism toward another colleague, and over time our relationship improved greatly.


Most importantly, I have seen God work in my own family. In the past, my father struggled with anger and complaining, but now he has become much kinder and more generous. I truly thank God for this transformation.


Please pray that I will continue to stand firm in my faith, respond with wisdom, and trust God through this difficult season.

This is a tragic story and I'm sorry you have to work in an environment like that.
I will absolutely pray for your peace and for your future. May our Lord look to you with mercy and compassion on this matter.

One thing I try to do when someone hurts me, or if I feel wronged in some way, is to pray for the person or group that offended me. When we pray for those who we feel have wronged us, God helps us reframe the hurt into love.

Maybe your boss is going through something stressful and is taking it out on u because u r their subordinate but , u r only their subordinate in the work place , your free time is your own and your boss can't tell u what to do with it . The fact that he/she is trying to do that means that they r overstepping boundaries with u . It could also b that they have a gambling problem and they c that u don't and that annoys them . They c their own weakness ( gambling ) and they r annoyed at u or jealous of u because u don't have their weakness , u r in fact strong than them and they feel threatened by your strength because , they have this weakness .
I went through a similar thing with my mum who is an alcoholic . When I was young , she used to try to get me to drink with her and when I wouldn't she would get very annoyed , even aggressive . She wanted me to b like her , she wanted me to have the same weakness as her so that she didn't feel agitated by my strength in resisting something that she couldn't resist . People r extremely complicated 🙄 . It's best to always b polite and kind but firm in these situations . Don't make your boss feel bad for gambling , it's their life , their choice and don't judge them . But don't give in to them and allow them to drag u down to their level . It's a balancing act and , it's a tough one for u because this person is your boss at work . Pray to God to guide u in knowing how to respond to this person , tell Him everything , u will feel do much better after u open your heart to Him and , He will show u the way .

Your boss has no right to say anything at all in regard to your father. I will say a prayer for God to improve the toxic work environment and for your father too. God Bless You.

I had a boss once who seem to always take his frustrations out on me. A fellow work asscociate once asked him why he was always giving me a hard time. He said that if he yelled at the one who was to blame that person would probably cry. He said I was a tough guy who knew the score and could take anything that he could dish out at me. Turns out, he was the best boss that I ever had.
